Chapter 184 Worried about Erbao

The cat-beastman was stunned and couldn't recover for a long time.

Is that so...?

The cat-beastman was a little confused. He felt that Shen Miao's words made sense, but he didn't think he had done anything wrong.

Shen Miao sighed inwardly. She had come to apologize, but she hadn't expected to come and challenge the cat-beastman's values. So she steered the conversation back on track and said, "No matter what, I apologize to you. I hope this matter won't affect the relationship between our two families."

"Brother Cat, do you accept?"

The cat-beastman glanced at her silently. After saying so much, if he didn't forgive her, wouldn't he seem too cold-blooded?

Did she really think he felt good about dealing with his companion? No, he didn't.

When the raven orc was rescued, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

"There's no question of forgiveness or not. If you think you haven't done anything wrong, then stick to your guns," the cat-beastman said curtly.

Shen Miao opened her mouth and smiled.

She knew that the cat-beastman's words meant he had forgiven her. She jumped up from the ground, "Great! Our two families can still be good friends. I'm going back now."

After saying that, he ran away in a flash.

The cat-beastman looked at the pile of things she had brought and couldn't help but yell, "Take your things away!"

There was no sign of Shen Miao outside.

The cat-beastman shook his head, then couldn't help but chuckle softly.

...

After the raven beastman recovered from his injuries, he came to Shen Miao in person to thank her. He wanted to kneel down and kowtow to her, but she stopped him.

"I saved you not so that you would kowtow to me."

With tears in his eyes, the raven beastman said, "You gave me my life, but I don't know how to repay you. I'm about to leave the tribe, and I don't know if we'll ever meet again. These beast crystals are what I've saved up over the years. I'm giving them all to you."

Shen Miao pushed it back, "No need, keep it with you. You know, you'll never be able to come back to the tribe again. Take it in case you need it."

The raven orc left.

He walked alone, and as Shen Miao watched him leave the tribe, his figure grew smaller and smaller until he could no longer be seen. She couldn't help but feel a little lost.

It wasn't because of the Raven Orcs, but rather a very inexplicable emotion.

It seemed that at this moment, she finally truly considered herself a person of this world and the raven beastmen as her companions, which was why she had such strange emotions.

Shen Miao was feeling a little down, but she didn't tell anyone. She cooked dinner as usual, the family ate, and then she went to bed to rest.

When I closed my eyes, all I could see was the lonely figure of the raven orc. I don't know how I fell asleep, but I was woken up by the noise outside before dawn.

She heard something thrashing about in the courtyard. Shen Miao remembered the petty thieves who had come to steal the golden eagle eggs before, and her heart skipped a beat. She immediately and silently got up and grabbed the stone spear that was placed behind the door.

Whoever he is, if he dares to steal, he can't blame her for stabbing him to death!

The moonlight was bright in the courtyard, and Shen Miao saw a small figure in the center, engrossed in gnawing on something. She couldn't see clearly from the distance, so she took two steps forward.

This can't be a thief; a thief would be too small.

As the distance closed, Shen Miao finally saw clearly that the person squatting on the ground, hugging a chicken and gnawing on it, was none other than Er Bao.

The chicken had half its neck bitten off, but it wasn't dead yet; it just couldn't make a sound and kept struggling.

Erbao held it down tightly, and no matter how hard it struggled, it couldn't break free.

The moonlight shone down, illuminating Erbao's pale face. Coupled with the crimson blood smeared at the corner of his mouth, he looked extremely eerie.

Shen Miao didn't think much of it, assuming that the little one was starving and had nothing to eat, so he started gnawing on a live chicken.

She felt a pang of sympathy and called out, "Erbao, stop eating that. Mom will make you something to eat. Why didn't you wake me up when you were hungry?"

As she spoke, she reached out to pull Erbao.

Suddenly, Erbao pounced on her. At first, Shen Miao didn't react and thought Erbao was just playing with her. She even reached out to hug Erbao.

Erbao pounced over and bit Shen Miao's hand hard.

Shen Miao cried out in surprise. The pain made her instinctively want to throw the baby away, but she quickly remembered that this was her baby, her second child, and she couldn't throw it away. So she endured it and used her other uninjured hand to tear the baby away.

Erbao was torn apart and ran out in a flash.

Ignoring her injuries, Shen Miao hurriedly gave chase, calling out, "Erbao, Erbao, don't run away!"

Everyone in the house was awakened and opened their doors. What they saw was Shen Miao staggering forward, collapsing to the ground before she even reached the doorway.

Qingchen and Jiuying rushed over at the same time and helped Shen Miao up from the ground. "How are you?"

When Shen Miao saw the two of them, her eyes immediately reddened.

"Erbao, Erbao ran out."

She briefly recounted the events, leaving both of them with grave expressions. Erbao's behavior was too bizarre; he hadn't eaten a live animal in a long time, and suddenly, for no apparent reason, he started gnawing on a live chicken. Something just didn't seem right.

"What happened to your hand?" Jiu Ying suddenly noticed the wound on Shen Miao's hand.

Shen Miao was already drenched in sweat from the pain, and her mind was starting to weaken. She said intermittently, "Oh right, Erbao bit me."

After saying this, she could no longer hold on and fainted.

Jiuying laid the person flat, lit a torch, and examined her wounds. Qingchen asked from the side, "How is she?"

“He’s been poisoned,” Jiuying said in a deep voice.

Without saying anything more, he placed his hand on Shen Miao's wound, gathered his spiritual power, and began to expel the poison from her.

Shen Miao remained unconscious, but as the color of her wounds improved, her expression also became better. Eventually, her expression calmed down, and she no longer gritted her teeth like before.

Qingchen carried the person into the house and laid her on the bed. He then came out and asked Jiuying, "How are you?"

Jiuying had just exhausted a lot of spiritual energy to expel the poison, and was feeling somewhat weak. He shook his head and struggled to sit up. "I'm fine. It's more important to find Erbao."

"You're in no condition to go find someone. Go back and rest. I'll go find them," Qingchen commanded in a deep voice.

Jiuying smiled indifferently, "It's nothing serious. I know my own body. Finding Erbao is the most important thing right now. Aren't you worried about Erbao? It's the middle of the night, and he bit Shenmiao again. There's still poison on his teeth."

Qingchen's face turned ugly at what he said, and his brows showed obvious anxiety.

"I'll go find it now." Qingchen strode out.

Jiuying smiled slightly and followed closely behind. More people meant more strength, and he didn't want to see anything happen to such a cute little one.
