Chapter 185 Erbao Gets Bitten

The sky gradually brightened.

Shen Miao slowly woke up, and was stunned for a moment. Then, remembering what happened last night, her face became anxious, and she immediately got up to go find Erbao.

"Mother, you are injured and cannot get up." Da Bao quickly pressed Shen Miao down.

Shen Miao also felt very tired. She looked closely and found that apart from Erbao, all three children were there, looking at her with worried expressions.

She glanced at her hand, where a tooth mark remained, but her skin had returned to normal and it didn't hurt as much as yesterday, so the poison should have been neutralized.

"Mother!" the children called out.

Shen Miao snapped out of her reverie, forced a smile, and asked, "Has Erbao still not been found?"

Da Bao's eyes darkened, and he comforted her, "Dad and Uncle Jiu Ying have both gone to look for it, they'll find it soon."

No matter how distressed Shen Miao felt, she was powerless to help.

Not wanting to worry the kids, she forced a smile and said, "Yes, we'll definitely find it."

"Mom, you rest, I'll go get you something to eat."

Da Bao told San Bao and Si Bao to watch over Shen Miao, and went to the kitchen himself. He imitated Shen Miao's usual manner, cut off a piece of meat, hastily rubbed some salt on it, and then started a fire.

But for a five-year-old, starting a fire is just too difficult.

First, after finally managing to light the flint, he hurriedly put the straw in, but he put in too much, and the fire flared up, burning off a section of Da Bao's hair and leaving his cheeks burning.

He screamed in fright and fell to the ground.

Hearing the commotion, Shen Miao rushed out of the house almost as fast as she could. Seeing Da Bao's miserable state, she felt extremely distressed.

"It's alright, it's alright."

Shen Miao picked Da Bao up from the ground and placed her hand on his injured cheek. Instantly, a soft green light enveloped the wound, and Da Bao felt a cool sensation on the wound as the pain gradually disappeared.

"Mommy, this feels so good."

Shen Miao breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that her wound had healed completely and there was no trace of injury left.

The baby is so fair and tender, she would regret it to death if he were left with any scars.

After healing Da Bao's injuries, Shen Miao, despite her illness, prepared some food for herself and the children. Then she sat at the door of her house, waiting for Qing Chen and Jiu Ying to come home.

On the other side.

Qingchen and Jiuying split up to search for Erbao. Along the way, Qingchen saw a lot of chicken feathers and chicken blood. Remembering what Shen Miao said about Erbao running away with a live chicken, he followed the chicken blood.

Erbao was found in a thicket of bushes on the back hill.

At that time, Erbao was resting inside, with chicken blood hanging from the corner of his mouth. He looked pale and sickly, unlike his usual clever and lively self. He looked like a naughty child.

Qingchen tiptoed, intending to quietly take Erbao back, but before his hand could touch Erbao, the boy suddenly opened his eyes alertly. Qingchen called out, "Erbao, come home with me."

But Erbao's eyes were bloodshot, as if he didn't recognize him at all. Suddenly, he jumped up, bumped into Qingchen, and turned to run into the woods.

Qingchen followed closely behind, grabbing Erbao's animal skin. Erbao struggled frantically and even tried to bite Qingchen.

After being dodged, he launched into another barrage of punches and kicks, his strength surprisingly great, unlike that of a five-year-old child. Qingchen didn't want to subdue him with brute force, fearing he might hurt his little body, so he had no choice but to let him go for now.

Afterwards, they set up a formation nearby to ensure that Erbao could not escape. Then they went to find Jiuying, who was searching for people on the other side, and told him about the situation. Jiuying suggested that they tie Erbao up so that he could stop himself from going crazy and hurting himself.

Qingchen agreed.

He first lured Erbao out. Erbao tried to run away when he saw him, but the formation restricted him. No matter what he did, he couldn't escape, and his emotions became even more volatile.

Qingchen stepped forward and hugged his small body, while Jiuying took the opportunity to tie him up with a rope.

With his hands and feet bound, Erbao finally stopped struggling and was held in Qingchen's arms, staring at him with a pair of resentful eyes.

"Erbao, I'm your father." Qingchen patted his cheek and calmly stated the facts.

Erbao opened his mouth wide and let out a threatening roar.

Jiuying frowned and said, "His teeth are poisonous, so don't get bitten."

Qingchen was very confused and didn't understand why Erbao had become like this. "He doesn't recognize me at all now. It's like I'm his enemy."

“He doesn’t even know Shen Miao, otherwise he wouldn’t have taken such a big bite,” Jiu Ying said.

Qingchen looked down at Erbao. He couldn't see any of Erbao's usual liveliness and cuteness on his face. All he could see was ferocity and murderous intent. Such an expression should never appear on a child.

Neither of them could figure out the reason, so they could only take the baby home first.

Shen Miao was waiting in the courtyard. When she saw the two of them return with the baby, she rushed over and asked anxiously, "How is it, Erbao? Do you still recognize your mother?"

Erbao's eyes darted around, his reddened eyes glaring hatefully at Shen Miao, as if he wanted to tear her to pieces.

Jiuying felt very uncomfortable and used some methods to make Erbao faint. Qingchen carried him into the house to rest. The three adult beastmen sat together and began to think of a solution.

"Where did you find Erbao?" Shen Miao asked first.

Jiuying gestured for him to wait a moment, checked her wound, and after confirming that there was no problem, replied, "Qingchen discovered it first; he was trying to run into the back mountain."

Qingchen nodded. "That's good. Luckily, they haven't gone in yet. They're asleep in the bushes. Otherwise, it would be difficult to find them."

"What was he like when you saw him?" Shen Miao asked again.

Qingchen's face was somber: "He's extremely agitated and won't let me get close, but I always feel..."

At this point, Qingchen paused and glanced at Shen Miao.

Shen Miao was somewhat puzzled. "What do you feel?"

"I always felt that he was more hostile towards you."

“That’s right,” Jiuying continued, “He feels more resentment towards Qingchen, but towards you, he feels complete hatred.”

Shen Miao: "..."

I feel hurt.

"What does this mean? Why does madness discriminate between people?" Shen Miao asked, composing herself.

Both of them shook their heads; they still didn't know why Erbao was reacting this way.

If we find it, we should be able to figure out why he went crazy.

After pondering for a moment, Shen Miao hesitated before saying, "Actually, I have an idea, but I don't know if it's right."

"Speak up. We're all clueless right now, so we shouldn't let any clue slip by," Jiuying encouraged.

Shen Miao then said, "I think Erbao's behavior is very much like that of someone possessed by an evil spirit."

She suddenly remembered that in her past life, there seemed to be a concept of possession, which was very similar to Erbao's situation.

Perhaps the second child will be the same.
