Chapter 253 Anger

Jiuying refused with a cold face, saying, "No need, I can handle it myself."

Shen Miao sighed silently, took a step back, and said, "Fine, I won't interfere. You handle it yourself. Once you're done, come back with me, okay?"

"I'm not going back," Jiu Ying said in a muffled voice.

"Why? Are you worried about your health? It's okay, Qingchen and I can help you. But you ran out alone. What if something happens to you again? What are we supposed to do?"

Jiuying took a deep breath to calm herself before saying, "Chenmiao, you should go back. I'm very grateful that you came out to find me, but this time, I really can't go with you."

He paused for a moment, then emphasized, "I'm in great danger right now. I can't control myself. Maybe the next second, I'll suddenly attack someone. I don't want what happened on the day of the memorial to happen again."

Shen Miao said anxiously, "That was just an accident. We're trying to find a solution. Don't be so pessimistic. There will always be a way."

Jiuying shook her head, "No, it won't be that fast. Go back, don't worry about me."

He looked utterly despondent, which infuriated Shen Miao. She had been trying to persuade him patiently, but suddenly her temper flared up. She sneered and said directly, "Is that so? We'll just leave you to die on the mountain, to be carried off and eaten by some strange beast? If I had known this would be the outcome, I shouldn't have kept you when you came to our tribe."

Jiuying's lips trembled, and her eyes were slightly red.

"What? What did I say wrong? We're all going to die sooner or later anyway, so we might as well die sooner and be reborn sooner." Shen Miao deliberately said something vicious, because Jiu Ying really angered her.

"I……"

"What do you mean, 'you'? I don't want to hear what you're saying. If you want to die, go find a strange beast right now. Don't resist, and your innocence will be proven true immediately. Come on, go! What, are you afraid to go?!"

Jiuying was rendered speechless by the scolding and lowered his head in shame.

Still furious, Shen Miao walked over step by step and commanded, "Raise your head and look at me!"

Jiuying raised his head blankly, and then received a hard slap on the face. He covered his face and looked at Shen Miao in a daze.

"Does it hurt? Are you awake? Do you still want to die?" Shen Miao asked, raising her chin.

Jiuying's face turned completely red, and he couldn't utter a single word.

Seeing him like this, Shen Miao recalled the first time she met him and knew that this person carried a heavy burden and did not want to trouble others. This was his nature and he could not change it in a short time.

He softened his tone and said, "Come back with me. I'm not afraid you'll go crazy. Qingchen can control you. What do you have to worry about?"

Jiuying was eventually persuaded and agreed to go back with Shenmiao.

"That's more like it. Come closer, let me see your wound."

Jiuying clutched his chest, clearly injured there. Shen Miao carefully tore open his clothes, revealing a bloody, mangled wound. It was obviously caused by the claws of a strange beast, and it must have been incredibly painful.

Shen Miao was almost gritting her teeth as she cleaned him, and asked, "Does it hurt?"

Jiuying gave Qianqian a smile and said, "It doesn't hurt."

Shen Miao rolled her eyes at him and mocked, "Have you lost your pain receptors or something? Such a deep wound, and you say it doesn't hurt."

"It really doesn't hurt."

Shen Miao ignored her and pretended to take medicine from her pocket, but actually took it out of her spatial storage and sprinkled it on Jiu Ying's wound. The medicine had a stimulating effect, and he couldn't help but tremble in pain.

"If it hurts, just cry out. I won't laugh at you," Shen Miao said calmly.

Sweat beaded on Jiuying's forehead, but he still said, "It doesn't hurt."

Pshaw, what a stubborn mule.

As Shen Miao thought to herself, she made even lighter movements with her hands.

By the time the bandage was finished, Jiuying was covered in sweat, as if he had been pulled out of the water, but even so, he did not complain once.

Shen Miao felt a pang of pity and scolded, "What an idiot."

Jiuying didn't take it seriously.

After resting for a while, the two went down the mountain and home.

Upon reaching the entrance to the tribe, they were turned away. Shen Miao looked at the orcs blocking their way and, assuming they didn't recognize her, said, "I am Shen Miao, and this is Jiu Ying. We are both orcs from the tribe. Please let us in."

Several orcs placed some thorns in front of Shen Miao and the others, and said disdainfully, "We know you are Shen Miao and he is Jiu Ying, so we're here to stop you."

Shen Miao frowned, completely baffled as to when she had offended these people.

"What do you mean? What did we do? Why are you stopping us?" Shen Miao asked, her tone tinged with displeasure.

One of the orcs replied, "Because you are an ominous witch, and he is a vicious demon, neither of you should ever appear in the tribe again. Everyone hates you."

Shen Miao was stunned with anger.

She thought the festival was over, but she didn't expect to find something else waiting for her here.

She laughed in anger, her voice rising and her expression becoming stern. "Who said that? Who said I'm a witch? Where's the evidence? Without evidence, you're just slandering me."

"What evidence? Everyone saw it with their own eyes under the altar. What more evidence do you need? Get out of here and don't drag our village down with you. By the way, this evil god was created by you. You really are an ominous person." The beastmen were extremely hostile, almost ready to physically drive him away.

Shen Miao felt a headache coming on.

But he still patiently said, "Jiuying was sick that day, which is why he suddenly lost control. I can assure you that he will never do that again. I will keep an eye on him..."

"No need to say anything, it's no use. Anyway, our tribe will no longer accept you."

Shen Miao's face darkened. "Then you've probably forgotten who helped you repel the Bloodworm Clan and Skeleton Soldiers when they attacked. Do you have the right to stop us from entering?"

The orcs scoffed, "Stop trying to make yourself look good. Without everyone's efforts, could you have repelled them all by yourself? Why don't you say we protected you? Enough said, it's no use. Get out of here, or don't blame us for being impolite!"

Several orcs assumed an attack stance.

Shen Miao was heartbroken. The tribe had been attacked twice. Even if it wasn't just her family who drove them away, they were definitely the ones who deserved the most credit. She wasn't taking credit for it; she just never expected that the tribe she had risked her life to protect would ultimately not accept her.

"Looks like you're going to refuse a polite offer and then suffer the consequences. Fine, you're not leaving. You asked for this!"

An orc released a burst of spiritual energy towards Shen Miao and the others.

Shen Miao pulled Jiu Ying away.

The spiritual energy struck the nearby tree, causing leaves to fall to the ground with a rustling sound.

Nine-Headed Serpent was furious. He had been silent and patient the whole time, but now he could no longer hold back. He glared menacingly at the beastmen who had attacked him. "I think you're courting death!"

He formed a hand seal with both hands, intending to return it.

"Jiuying, don't act recklessly!" Shen Miao stopped him, shaking her head at him.
