Some villagers also saw Xue Daniu carrying a woman, and someone asked, "Xue family, where did you find this girl?"
"We bought it."
"Oh, is that Da Niu's wife?"
The man made that casual remark. Xue Daniu looked at Xue Xiaoniu and thought, "If I don't explain now, she'll be my wife from now on."
Xue Xiaoniu quickly laughed and said, "How could that be? This girl cost my family three taels of silver; she is the shared wife of the three brothers."
"Three taels of silver? You've lost out big time. If I had known, I would have introduced you to a better one, and you wouldn't be carrying such a frail thing now."

Ahri noticed someone was there, but didn't dare to struggle. She didn't know where she was and was worried that someone would recognize her.
She rested quietly on Xue Daniu's shoulder.
Xue Daniu was always a man of few words in the village. He carried Ah Li back home.
Xue Erniu sat down at the table with chopsticks in his hand. He looked at Xue Daniu, then at Xue Xiaoniu who had followed him in, and asked, "You guys actually brought someone back?"
Xue Xiaoniu replied, "That's right."
Xue Daniu put Ali down. Ali didn't even try to run away; it was obvious that it couldn't escape.
Xue Daniu pressed Ah Li's shoulder, making her sit down.
Xue Xiaoniu had already taken the bowl and chopsticks and handed them to Ali, saying, "Eat."
Ah Li looked at Xue Daniu and then at Xue Xiaoniu. Did these two want her to finish her meal before leaving?
Xue Erniu chuckled and said, "This guy is still thinking about leaving."
Xue Xiaoniu served himself food without even looking at Ali, saying, "We'll lock her up then and see where she can run off to."
