Chapter 4 Playing in the Other World

A First Look at Magic and Technology

Deep in the otherworldly Dara Forest, Lin Feng accompanied Servais back to his camp. After some magical training, he gained a preliminary understanding of the magical laws of this world. At the same time, the unique abilities granted by the system filled him with anticipation for the future.

Servis's camp was nestled in a quiet valley, far away from the wild beasts of the forest and the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Arriving here, Lin Feng felt a rare sense of tranquility.

The camp was surrounded by a stone wall that looked solid and ancient. Lin Feng looked around curiously and discovered some strange buildings in the camp. Their surfaces were engraved with complex runes, and they emitted a faint blue light.

Following Lin Feng's gaze, Servais explained, "This is barrier magic, which can protect against wild beasts and uninvited guests. And that building is the laboratory I use for research."

Inside the laboratory, Lin Feng saw many high-tech instruments and devices he had never seen on Earth. What surprised him even more was the integration of these devices with magic. In this world, magic, like electricity, was a source of energy that could be widely used in daily life.

"The technology and magic applications here are far more advanced than I imagined." Lin Feng couldn't help but admire.

Servais smiled and nodded. "Yes, although our materials science and some basic theories aren't as advanced as yours, the blessing of magic has enabled us to make great strides in other areas."

Lin Feng watched the various microscopes, magic computers, and some complicated-looking instruments with great attention. He gradually understood that the development path of the integration of technology and magic in this world was full of infinite possibilities.

When he saw a device similar to a forging table, the system suddenly gave a prompt:

[Advanced forging equipment detected. Do you want to learn related skills? ]

Lin Feng chose yes, the system responded quickly, and a lot of knowledge about metal forging and magic material processing emerged in his mind.

"Servis, can you teach me how to use these devices?" Lin Feng asked curiously.

Servais smiled and nodded, then began to explain in detail the various devices in the laboratory and how to use them.

The forging table is called the "Magic Furnace". It can combine magical energy with metal to create items with extremely magical properties, such as magic swords, magic wands and other weapons, and even more complex mechanical structures.

Under Servis's guidance, Lin Feng began to forge his first piece of magical equipment. He placed a piece of shimmering, luminous aurite into the furnace, manipulating the magical energy and carefully controlling it according to the knowledge he had learned.

As time went by, the originally extremely hard Austrian iron gradually melted in the furnace, and then Lin Feng cast it into a sharp dagger bit by bit. During the whole process, Lin Feng relied entirely on the knowledge provided by the system and his own intuition to operate.

When the dagger was completely cast and cooled down after being removed from the furnace, its blade emitted a faint green light, as if it contained mysterious power.

"Very good! Your first work has reached an upper-middle level." Servais admired the dagger in Lin Feng's hand. Lin Feng gently gripped the dagger. In the dim light, the blade seemed to contain surging waves, flickering with layers of flowing light patterns. He could feel the blade vibrate slightly, as if welcoming his touch, in sync with his breathing.

"Servis, can I practice some basic swordsmanship here?" Lin Feng couldn't wait to experience his new work.

Servais exhaled, a puff of white mist dissipating into the air. He nodded, a flicker of approval in his eyes. "Of course. Learning how to fight is just as important. There's a combat training ground in my camp. Let's go there together."

At the edge of the camp, on an empty training ground, Servais was instructing Lin Feng in swordsmanship. Lin Feng's movements seemed awkward at first, but with the help of the system and analysis of the trajectory of each sword swing, he soon found the trick and gradually improved.

Servais stood by, constantly correcting his posture and movements: "Remember, swordsmanship requires fluidity and continuity. Each swing of the sword should be a continuation of the previous one."

Following Servis's guidance, Lin Feng gradually found his rhythm. He precisely controlled the magical energy flowing through his body, making each strike imbued with power. Although the short sword wasn't necessarily heavier than an ordinary sword, when Lin Feng wielded it, it carried a powerful aura that was not to be underestimated.

After a period of diligent practice, it was already late. Lin Feng wiped the sweat from his forehead and felt that his swordsmanship had indeed made great progress. He also discovered that in addition to learning swordsmanship, by finding the connection between sword and magic, his combat effectiveness was also gradually improving.

"Next, you need to learn how to combine magic with your swordsmanship. This is the core of a fighter in this world." Servais said, and then demonstrated how to use magic to enhance sword energy.

Lin Feng watched Servais's movements intently, silently practicing magic formulas in his mind. He was ready to give it a try. So he slowly absorbed the magic elements around the camp, concentrated them on the dagger, and the sword flashed with blue light, and then he drew his sword.

After a crisp "whoosh" sound, a blue sword energy shot out, splitting the air and striking a distant practice stake. Although it was only a slight scratch, it was the first time Lin Feng had combined magic and swordsmanship.

"Not bad, you've already got the hang of it," Servais commented on Lin Feng's performance. "But you need more practice until this combination becomes as natural as breathing."

Lin Feng nodded. He knew that the road ahead was long and arduous, and that he still needed to continuously strengthen his magic and swordsmanship. He bowed deeply and said, "Thank you for your guidance. I will continue to work hard."

Unable to suppress his inner excitement and satisfaction with his own breakthrough, Lin Feng decided to practice harder in the days to come, constantly tap the power of the system, explore the mysteries of this world and his own potential.

When night fell, Servis took Lin Feng back to the laboratory and began to explain the history of technology and magic in the other world.

As Lin Feng listened, Servais recounted the dawn of the fusion of magic and technology in ancient times, and the important roles these two played in the world as history unfolded. What unfolded before Lin Feng was a vaster and more complex vision of another world.

By rapidly absorbing knowledge through the system and integrating it with his own thinking, Lin Feng gradually built a more complete research and study blueprint than before. He knew that this would be an important cornerstone for him to become a tycoon in this alien world.

That night, Lin Feng's mind was filled with all sorts of new information and future plans, while the starry sky outside quietly watched this new world full of infinite possibilities.
