Chapter 20 Flies Don't Land on Eggs Without Cracks (3/3)

His voice, usually so composed, was a beat faster than usual: "Xiang Wanwan?"

He rushed into the kitchen and immediately saw Xiang Wanwan squatting under the stove. He grabbed her waist, lifted her up, and carried her out of the kitchen.

He placed Xiang Wanwan on a chair in the living room, his voice barely perceptible with tension: "Are you alright?"

Xiang Wanwan looked at Lu Jingnian, who had suddenly appeared, and shook her head.

Lu Jingnian pulled her around to look her over, and only after confirming that everything was alright did he immediately turn around and go into the kitchen.

A moment later, the smoke in the kitchen gradually dissipated, and Lu Jingnian, dressed in military uniform, strode out from inside.

He looked at Xiang Wanwan, who was covered in dust and dirt, with a stern face.

Xiang Wanwan looked at him and found it somewhat frightening. She lowered her head and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I just can't get angry."

Lu Jingnian took off his coat and threw it on a chair next to him, then walked closer to Xiang Wanwan.

As he approached Xiang Wanwan, she suddenly jumped up from her chair.

"Hey, a gentleman uses words, not fists! I didn't set the kitchen on fire, you're not going to hit me, are you?"

Lu Jingnian didn't say anything, but took off her apron and said in his magnetic voice in her ear, "Next time, wait for me to come back and do it!"

He took the apron, tied it around his waist, and turned to go into the kitchen.

Xiang Wanwan stared in amazement at his tall and imposing back!

Is this art style appropriate?

She made such a mess of the kitchen, and Lu Jingnian wasn't angry at all.

She even said she'd wait for him to come back and cook?

She slowly walked to the kitchen door and watched Lu Jingnian skillfully start the fire, steam rice, and stir-fry vegetables, all in one go.

A tall man, over 1.8 meters tall, was cooking at that moment, dressed in military uniform and wearing an apron.

Who understands this sense of contrast?

The man's charm was on full display at this moment.

Who says men are only handsome when they're working? They're definitely most charming when they're cooking!

When Xiang Wanwan saw that he had quickly stir-fried the shredded potatoes and was about to serve them, she immediately fawned over him and took them from him.

Although there was no meat in the meal, Lu Jingnian's cooking skills were good, and she ate quite comfortably.

After the meal, she was about to wash the dishes when Lu Jingnian took them from her again.

"Girls should take good care of their hands. I'll do the dishes."

Xiang Wanwan was charmed by his words again!

What a treasure of a boy!

The original owner was a complete idiot; she didn't want a man like that, but instead fell for that trash Ning Feng.

After getting ready, Lu Jingnian rushed off to work.

Before leaving, he took out several packets of seeds from his briefcase and handed them to her.

"What you want."

Xiang Wanwan looked at the seeds in her hand, then at Lu Jingnian's departing figure, and suddenly smiled.

Although there was no love between her and Lu Jingnian, living a simple and ordinary life like this seemed quite nice! (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
