Chapter 17 She's got patience! (1/3)

After finishing her meal, Xiang Wanwan stretched and moved around in the yard.

Suddenly, a burst of cursing came from next door.

She walked to the courtyard wall and listened intently. It was Chen De and Wang Sao arguing.

"It's all your fault. If you hadn't come here without a word, I wouldn't have been suspended from my duties and would be under investigation."

“You three, mother and son, are nothing but a burden.”

Then came Wang's wife's angry roar, her voice trembling with tears.

"Chen De, how can you say such a thing without conscience? If I hadn't been taking care of your family back in our hometown, would you be living the life you have now?"

"And shouldn't I be here? I'm your lawfully wedded wife!"

Then came the sound of two children crying.

"Father, don't bully Mother!"

"Mother! Waaah..."

Immediately afterwards, Chen De slammed the door and left.

When he reached the courtyard, he took another deep look at Xiang Wanwan before leaving.

After watching him walk away, Xiang Wanwan quickly opened the courtyard gate and went to Wang Sao's house.

As soon as I entered the house, I saw Sister Wang sitting on a stool, holding her two children and crying.

Seeing her arrive, he wiped away his tears and gestured for her to sit down.

"Sister-in-law, what's wrong now?"

After calming herself down, Aunt Wang spoke:

"Chen De has been suspended from his duties and is under investigation for allegedly concealing his true marital status."

"He got angry at me as soon as he got back, saying it was all my fault for coming here that he was suspended."

Upon hearing this, Xiang Wanwan slammed her hand on the table.

"Smack!"

"They're turning black into white; they clearly made a mistake first, yet they're trying to shift the blame."

"Sister Wang, what do you plan to do now?"

If it were her, she would never want a man like Chen De, even if it meant death.

She couldn't stand the fact that he cheated on her, let alone his self-righteousness.

But Wang's wife was different; she had nothing left and was raising two children alone.

Chen De was her only support.

Although she really wanted to advise her to get a divorce, in this day and age, how could an uneducated rural woman like her, without a house or land, and with two children to raise, possibly survive?

Wang Sao lowered her head and pondered for a moment, then looked at her two thin children and slowly closed her eyes.

She had no choice but to swallow her anger!

Seeing her expression, Xiang Wanwan understood her decision and comforted her from the side:

"Sister-in-law, don't worry. Actually, it's not so bad that Commander Chen has been suspended. He can stay home and help you take care of the children. He hasn't taken care of the family for so many years, it's time for him to experience it."

Hearing this, Sister Wang felt a little comforted.

She looked at Xiang Wanwan with gratitude. She had always felt that Wanwan was younger than her and had not experienced as much as her, but Wanwan was quite mature in her speech and actions.

What a wonderful girl!

After returning from Wang's house, Xiang Wanwan took a nap until evening, when Wang came to wake her up.

"Wanwan, come to my house for dinner tonight."

Xiang Wanwan's first reaction was to refuse. Wang's family also relied on receiving supplies for survival. If they went to eat there, it would mean that their family would have even less food.
