Chapter 122 Desperate Measures (2/2)

Xiang Wanwan was overjoyed.

It really worked!

When Sister Wang came over from behind, she saw that the pigs in the front pens, which had been lying there half-dead, were now able to stand up.

Her eyes widened in shock.

"Wanwan, what did you do? How did everything get better all of a sudden?"

"Huh? I just gave them some medicine powder, which I brought back from when I went to the countryside before. I didn't expect it to actually work."

Xiang Wanwan could only make up a lie on the spot.

When Aunt Sun brought over the cooked pig feed, she was stunned by what she saw.

"Is everything all set?"

"Yes, Wanwan cured it with the medicine powder, it's amazing." Aunt Wang looked at Xiang Wanwan with admiration in her eyes.

Aunt Sun put down the pig feed and stepped forward to ask, "What kind of medicine powder is it? It's so potent that it can even detoxify."

"I don't know either. I just happened to have it on me, so I thought I'd give it a try, even if it's a long shot."

Xiang Wanwan spoke with a guilty conscience, and she quickly changed the subject: "Sister Wang, how is the rabbit doing?"

"Oh? Oh, it's fine over there! I checked carefully, there are no such vines or leaves."

"That's good."

It seems this person is only after her pig.

They dragged out the dead pigs and cleaned up the poisoned pig feed in the other pigpens, even carefully washing the pig troughs.

Aunt Wang: "These past few days, Aunt Sun and I have been keeping watch here to prevent that person from coming again."

Xiang Wanwan nodded, "Thank you for your hard work, sister-in-law."

Aunt Sun pointed at the pig on the ground: "What should we do with this pig? It weighed over 100 jin (50 kg) and it's such a waste to just die like this. Why don't we kill it and eat it?"

"No! This pig ate poisonous food, so the pork is probably poisonous too. We can't eat it; we'll have to find a place to bury it."

Xiang Wanwan said seriously.

This is no joke. This pig is poisoned, and her spiritual spring water is effective. But if a person is poisoned and dies, she doesn't know if the spiritual spring water can cure the poison.

It's best not to try things that involve life and death lightly.

“Yes, we can’t eat it. Let’s bury it on the hill behind the pig farm; few people come there,” Aunt Wang suggested.

So the three of them went to the back of the mountain to dig a pit and bury the pig.

By the time all this was done, it was already evening.

Because Wang Sao was going to stay with her tonight, she went home alone.

She invited Baoguo and Weiguo to her house for dinner and told them about how Wang Sao hadn't been home to sleep for the past few days.

The two brothers have now grown up to Xiang Wanwan's waist. They are already big kids, and they talk like two little adults. They are very sensible.

After washing up and lying in bed, Lu Jingnian noticed that she seemed preoccupied and asked, "What's wrong? Did something happen at the pig farm?"

Xiang Wanwan turned to look at him: "How did you know?"

“You suddenly called the two children over for dinner tonight, and Aunt Wang is still up on the mountain. Something must have happened to cause this.”

Xiang Wanwan sighed deeply: "Someone poisoned the pig farm; one pig died today."

Lu Jingnian frowned: "Can you guess who it is?"

Xiang Wanwan shook her head.

Although she suspected it was Granny Chen, she couldn't make assumptions without evidence.

"Do you need my help?"

"Need not."

Lu Jingnian has been very busy lately, and besides, she's the one who opened the pig farm, so she'll have to take responsibility if anything goes wrong.

In the darkness, Xiang Wanwan's face was radiantly beautiful in the moonlight. Her eyes were firm as she slowly spoke:

"I have a way to find out who it is." (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
