Chapter 17 Sweet

Miaoyun sat on a low stool, holding a round fan gently in her hand, fanning Su Jingyao from time to time.

"Master, after His Highness returned today, he went to Qiluan Palace and hasn't come out since. I heard that Anshun always brought the memorials to Qiluan Palace, and then His Highness reviewed them there."

Su Jingyao chuckled when she heard this.

"It seems that our Crown Princess has finally begun to know how to coax a man."

The corners of her mouth rose slightly, with a barely perceptible hint of teasing.

Su Jingyao didn't even need to think about it, she knew Ling Yue must be "showing weakness to the enemy". If she was still as reckless as last night, Jun Zechen would have stormed out of the door in anger.

"Then won't the master take His Highness away?" Miaoyun asked softly.

"Rob? Ever since I entered the Eastern Palace, I've never robbed anyone. Didn't Your Highness deliver it to me?"

There was a hint of laziness and confidence in Su Jingyao's tone. She slowly opened her eyes, and her bright eyes shone with wisdom.

"Miaoyun, you have to remember that even if you snatch something openly, it won't be very good."

After Su Jingyao finished speaking, she closed her eyes again, enjoying the rare comfort. She looked relaxed and at ease, as if the whole world had nothing to do with her.

Miaoyun nodded, not quite understanding what she was saying. Although she couldn't fully comprehend what her master said, she believed in her master from the bottom of her heart.

Just look at the current prince and you will know. Didn’t he swear that he didn’t like the master and didn’t want to touch the master at the beginning, but now he is taking the initiative to approach the master?

In the past few days, Su Jingyao has been living a very comfortable and relaxed life in Xiyan Palace. She is either reading and writing, or playing the piano and painting. In short, when she is not trying to please men, she has to make herself feel comfortable.

On this day, Su Jingyao was sitting in her study, writing quietly. Her posture was dignified and elegant, and her expression was focused and calm.

Miaoxue, the most lively of the four maids, walked in quietly.

She came to the right rear of Su Jingyao and stood there hesitantly, with some hesitation in her eyes.

Miaoxue opened her mouth, wanting to speak but stopping herself, a hint of timidity in her voice: "Master, Miaoyun, Miaoxia, and Miaoyue don't dare to ask you..."

Su Jingyao paused for a moment, not looking up. She simply asked, "What are you asking me? You've been with me for so many years, why are you still so impatient?"

Miaoxue pursed her lips slightly and mustered up the courage to say, "Master, Crown Princess, if Your Highness returns to the Eastern Palace in the next few days, I will immediately send someone to invite His Highness to Qiluan Palace."

"It's fine that His Highness hasn't come to our place these past few days, but Miaoyue was given a hard time when she went to the kitchen of the East Palace to get ingredients. Is the Crown Princess deliberately making things difficult for us?"

Su Jingyao's daily meals are extremely exquisite, and are usually taken to Xiyan Palace's own small kitchen and carefully cooked by Miaoyue.

"Don't talk nonsense, how did the kitchen give you a hard time?"

Su Jingyao's voice remained calm, and the pen in her hand continued to dance on the paper.

"Yesterday, Miaoyue wanted to cook fish for you, but the kitchen said all the fish were dead. However, there were still many fish in the water tank next to her. When Miaoyue asked, the chief eunuch in the kitchen said that those fish were cooked for the Crown Princess and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince."

Miaoxue became more and more angry as she spoke, with a hint of grievance in her voice.

"And today, the fine salt in our Xiyan Palace's small kitchen ran out, so I went to the main kitchen to ask for some. However, the kitchen manager ignored me the entire time. He only gave me the fine salt after dinner time, and his expression was very unfriendly."

A hint of darkness flashed in Su Jingyao's eyes, and she frowned slightly.

It seems that the naive Crown Princess finally knows how to fight back, but her methods are still too immature.

Su Jingyao didn't want to waste time on these trivial matters.

As for Ling Yue asking Jun Zechen to go to her Qiluan Palace every day, Su Jingyao was just watching a show.

Ling Yue still has too high expectations of men. If she blocks Jun Zechen every day or two, Jun Zechen might go to Qiluan Palace to accompany her and coax her because of the guilt and heartache he felt on the day of the Flower Festival.

But this has been going on for several days in a row. Jun Zechen not only has to deal with state affairs every day, but also has to coax women when he returns to the East Palace.

For Jun Zechen, it's enough for a woman to coax him.

Because of the promise Jun Zechen made to her, Ling Yue always put herself and Jun Zechen at the same level, and always felt that Jun Zechen would love her, coax her and spoil her.

If they were truly equal, there would be nothing wrong with getting along like this.

But Jun Zechen's identity shows that he is extraordinary. It is not that he coaxes women, but that women have to always remain attractive to him.

Guilt, a useless emotion, can't stay with Jun Zechen for long.

"Your Highness also went to Qiluan Palace today?"

Su Jingyao raised her head slightly, her face as calm as water, and asked in a faint voice.

"Not today. I heard that someone from Qiluan Palace also went to invite His Highness, but His Highness said that he was busy with government affairs today and was tired, so he rested in Yude Palace."

There was a hint of gloating in Miaoxue's tone.

After hearing this, Su Jingyao raised the corners of her mouth slightly, revealing a barely perceptible sneer.

It’s pretty much what she thought.

Jun Zechen had already changed his mind, and what's more, his feelings for her were still at the freshest stage. Being guarded against and obstructed by Ling Yue like this, Jun Zechen must be feeling annoyed.

After all, if you don’t eat enough food, you will always miss it.

"The sky is dark today, and it might rain tonight."

Su Jingyao slowly raised her head and looked out the window. The inky sky seemed to be pressing down on her.

Miaoxue was a little confused and didn't understand why her master suddenly mentioned the weather.

"Master, it's supposed to rain today, but it's probably just a drizzle. It rained this afternoon, too. There won't be thunder, so don't be afraid, Master."
