Chapter 17 Sweet

"If you are afraid, master, I will come to accompany you." Miaoxue looked at Su Jingyao sincerely, her face full of concern.

Su Jingyao smiled, then teased, "What if I want His Highness to accompany me?"

"Then I will go to Yude Hall to invite His Highness to come for the master." Miaoxue said with a firm look and without hesitation.

"Okay, I'll ask you to invite His Highness tonight."

There was a glint of cunning in Su Jingyao's eyes, and she spoke in a meaningful voice.

After hearing this, Miaoxue felt excited and a happy smile appeared on her face. Her master was finally going to compete for favor.

At the beginning of the evening, Su Jingyao, who had just finished washing up, was wearing a light and thin light pink gauze dress. She looked like a delicate and beautiful peach blossom. She walked gracefully to the soft couch and sat down.

Her long hair, like a waterfall, casually draped over her shoulders, adds a touch of softness and charm.

There was a piece of white paper on the low table in the middle of the couch. Su Jingyao stretched out her slender hand, gently picked up the brush, dipped it in ink, and then slowly wrote on the paper.

Her expression was focused and serious. After finishing writing, Su Jingyao looked at the beautiful handwriting on the paper with satisfaction. The corners of her mouth rose slightly, revealing a sweet and lovely smile.

She folded the paper carefully, put it in an exquisite envelope, and handed it to Miaoxue who was standing beside her.

"Miaoxue, go ahead and give it to His Highness personally."

Su Jingyao blinked her big, bright eyes mischievously, with a cunning light flashing in her eyes.

"Yes, master." Miaoxue responded happily, holding the envelope tightly in both hands as if she was holding a precious treasure.

Miaoxue went out, picked up an umbrella and walked out of the hall.

It was drizzling outside the palace. Miaoxue carefully hid the letter in her arms to prevent it from getting wet.

Outside the Yude Hall, Anshun saw Miaoxue coming and hurried forward to greet her.

There was a complicated expression on his face, one that was both respectful and helpless.

He has served in the Eastern Palace for more than ten years, and now facing the two masters of Qiluan Palace and Xiyan Palace, he is really in a dilemma.

Anshun originally thought that this concubine with outstanding appearance could not get the favor of His Highness in the Eastern Palace, and felt sorry about it. Now he realized how wrong he was.

This concubine is no simple matter.

"Miss Miaoxue, it's raining. Why are you here?" Anshun's voice was filled with concern.

"Eunuch Anshun, the master asked me to deliver a letter to His Highness, and said that I should hand it to His Highness personally. Could you please pass it on?" Miaoxue's voice was crisp and pleasant, and her eyes were full of anticipation.

"Miss Miaoxue, please wait a moment. I will go in and ask."

An Shun said this and turned to walk into the Yude Hall.

Jun Zechen sat upright in the first seat, his posture tall and straight, his bearing dignified. He was holding a book in his hand and reading intently. The bright candlelight danced on his handsome face, making his facial features more three-dimensional and distinct.

The lines on his face were firm yet gentle, with deep brows, a straight nose, and tightly closed thin lips. He had no expression on his face and looked stern and mysterious, like a god, inspiring awe in people.

"Your Highness, Concubine Su's personal maid Miaoxue wants to see you." An Shun bowed slightly and said softly.

When Jun Zechen heard that it was from Su Jingyao's palace, his eyes, as deep as a cold pond, flickered slightly, and then he asked calmly, "What's the matter?"

"Miaoxue said that Concubine Su wrote a letter to you and asked Miaoxue to give it to you personally." Anshun answered respectfully.

"Let her in."

"yes."

An Shun responded, then turned and went out. After a while, he came back with Miaoxue.

Miaoxue followed Anshun, feeling a little nervous. She took cautious steps and came to Jun Zechen.

"Your Highness, I am honored to receive your greetings." Miaoxue bent her knees slightly and said respectfully.

"Get up and present it."

Jun Zechen's voice was still calm, but it always gave people a sense of oppression.

Miaoxue quickly stood up and respectfully presented the envelope with both hands.

Jun Zechen took the envelope, opened it, unfolded the letter, and read it carefully:

It is raining tonight, but unfortunately there is no thunder. I hope Your Highness can sleep well.

Just three sentences.

Jun Zechen frowned and narrowed his eyes slightly, not quite understanding what this little woman was thinking.

"Does your master have any other instructions?" Jun Zechen raised his head and looked at Miaoxue and asked.

Miaoxue saw the doubt in His Highness's face and was curious about what the Master had written to His Highness. However, since His Highness had not given her any instructions, she answered truthfully, "No, Your Highness."

"Well, go back."

Jun Zechen waved his hand, signaling Miaoxue to leave. Miaoxue bowed respectfully and then slowly retreated.

After Miaoxue left, Jun Zechen took the letter and read it carefully over and over again, frowning slightly, his eyes full of confusion.

His slender fingers gently stroked the letter paper, as if trying to find some hidden clues from it.

It was indeed drizzling outside tonight, and Jun Zechen clearly remembered that the little woman was always afraid of thunder, but she regretted in the letter that there was no thunder today.

Isn't this very contradictory? Moreover, if there was no thunder, shouldn't he be able to sleep more peacefully?

Then why does she still feel sorry?

Jun Zechen's mind was completely occupied by this letter, and he couldn't even read the book in his hand.

I kept thinking in my mind, this little woman is so knowledgeable and talented, could these three sentences have any deeper meaning?

Jun Zechen was puzzled and felt itchy in his heart.

"Anshun, go to Xiyan Palace."

Jun Zechen's low voice rang out in the hall, and a hint of anxiety flashed in his eyes.
