Chapter 19 Jiang Family Farce

Chapter 19 Jiang Family Farce

Aunt Jiang arrived at Aunt Qing's house. Aunt Qing's daughter Jiang Xiaoxue's feet were a little red, and she pursed her lips and didn't say anything.

Aunt Jiang didn't think it was a big problem and didn't even prescribe any medicine. She just said I just needed to rest for two days.

Aunt Qing stopped Aunt Jiang from leaving: "Sister-in-law, please take another look. Xiaoxue is young, don't let her develop any chronic illness."

Aunt Jiang didn't find it annoying. Instead, she patiently explained, "Xiaoxue is young and may be growing. She twisted her leg while walking. I just felt the bone and it's fine. If you still feel uncomfortable, just rest for a few more days."

Jiang Xiaoxue suddenly said, "Auntie, I'm fine. You can go home."

Aunt Qing glared at her and said, "If you hadn't twisted your ankle and couldn't walk, would I have asked your aunt to come and see you? I'm just afraid that you'll become a cripple in the future."

Aunt Qing was probably angry, and she scolded Jiang Xiaoxue for not washing clothes cleanly, cooking bad meals, and being disobedient. She went on and on for half an hour.

Aunt Jiang tried to stop her several times but failed. She was worried about her family and had no time to listen to Aunt Qing educating her daughter.

"Sister-in-law, let Xiaoxue take good care of herself. I'm going back first."

Aunt Qing looked at the sky outside and exclaimed: "Oh, it took so long. Let me take my sister-in-law back."

Aunt Jiang felt that Aunt Qing was a little strange today and waved her hand to refuse. Aunt Qing warmly took her arm and said, "Sister-in-law, you have always taken care of us. What's wrong with me sending you back?"

Aunt Qing ignored Aunt Jiang's refusal and insisted on sending her to the door of her house and then into the house.

"Oh, Jingya has gone home?" Aunt Qing shouted when she saw that there was no one on the bed.

Aunt Jiang was startled: "Maybe he will go back when he feels better. You should go back too."

Aunt Qing walked out slowly. When she passed Jiang Hongyu's room, she heard a faint rustling sound coming from inside. Her eyes lit up: "Brother Yu is getting married, and I haven't congratulated him yet."

Aunt Jiang didn't react for a moment, and Aunt Qing had already pushed open Jiang Hongyu's door.

"You, what are you doing?" Aunt Qing shouted at the two people in the room.

Aunt Jiang was startled and pushed Aunt Qing away.

The two people in the room were hurriedly putting on their clothes. Aunt Jiang rushed in and turned the man over. She was immediately relieved because it was not Jiang Hongyu.

Although the Jiang family has fallen into poverty and become a commoner, the arranged marriage must not be changed. They are not that kind of family.

Aunt Jiang looked at the two people hurriedly getting dressed in the house and frowned, "Why are you two in my house?"

Aunt Qing rolled her eyes: "Isn't this Yu Ge'er? This person looks a little unfamiliar. Who is he?"

The man said nothing and just focused on tidying up his clothes.

"Are you Mingzhu's cousin?" Aunt Jiang calmed down from her panic. The man looked familiar and she tried hard to recall. Then she remembered that he was Ye Mingzhu's cousin from her uncle's family.

Ye Yunkang kept his head down, hoping that no one would recognize him, but the opposite happened. He could only grin awkwardly and prepare to leave.

Lu Jingya suddenly burst into tears. She didn't understand how things turned out like this. She wished she could go back an hour and never have happened.

"Mom." Jiang Hongyu's voice came from outside, and Lu Jingya's crying stopped abruptly.

"Why are you all in my room?" Jiang Hongyu said as he entered the room. His expression changed and he picked up a piece of fiery red cloth from the ground. "What's going on?"

Jiang Hongyu's face turned ashen. In his hand was the wedding dress he had bought specifically for Ye Mingzhu, but it had now become a wrinkled ball with a few buttons thrown on the ground.

Lu Jingya lowered her head and cried quietly without saying a word. Ye Yunkang lowered his head and wanted to say he didn't know, but Jiang Hongyu stepped forward and grabbed his collar: "Tell me, what's going on?"

Ye Yunkang was startled and struggled hard: "It's not my fault, it's not my fault. I just came to ask about building a house. It was this woman who hugged me that made me..."

Lu Jingya suddenly raised her head, and two tears rolled down her fair face, forcing Ye Yunkang to swallow the rest of his words.

Ye Yunkang thought of the white and tender skin like fine porcelain that he had just touched, and his heart was burning. He couldn't bear to put the blame on Lu Jingya, so he shut up.

Jiang Hongyu snorted coldly: "You two can go anywhere to meet privately, why did you come to my house? This is the dress I bought for my fiancée. You got it dirty, so you have to pay for it."

Ye Yunkang suddenly raised his head: "Why should we pay for it? Who can you blame if you don't put your things away properly?"

This wedding dress looked expensive, and he was reluctant to give away the money he had saved with great effort.

"I didn't put it away properly?" Jiang Hongyu's voice was icy, making everyone in the room shudder. "You two did something disgusting in my house. I'm lucky enough that I didn't ask you to pay for the house, and you still blame me for not putting my things away properly."

Ye Yunkang was a little speechless and glanced at Lu Jingya beside him: "That's not my fault alone. She was the one who took the initiative to rush over, so she should pay for it."

Lu Jingya looked at him in disbelief. It was clearly this man who had taken advantage of her, and now he wanted her to pay compensation.

If he hadn't suddenly come to the Jiang family, it would have been her and Jiang Hongyu who were caught, and the two of them could have gotten married.

But now that he has taken advantage of her, will Brother Yu still marry her?

"If it weren't me, you would suddenly rush up to me, and, what should I do?" Lu Jingya's words were unclear, but everyone present knew what she meant.

"I'm already engaged, you can't rely on me." Ye Yunkang waved his hands quickly. Although this woman was indeed beautiful, he was already engaged to his cousin. If he broke off the engagement, his mother and his aunt would beat him to death.

Lu Jingya cried even more when she heard this. This man actually dared to look down on her. It was clearly him who took advantage of her. The two of them almost...

Jiang Hongyu glanced at the two of them with disgust. "I don't care about your business, but you must compensate me for this wedding dress, otherwise I will sue you two at the government office, saying that you two messed around in my house and ruined the wedding dress I was going to give to my fiancée."

"no!"

"no!"

Ye Yunkang and Lu Jingya spoke out at the same time. Once the case was brought to the government office, not to mention the compensation, the reputation of both of them and even both families would be completely ruined.

Jiang Hongyu also said simply: "This wedding dress is twelve taels, and each of you will pay six taels. Do you want to pay now or later? If you want to pay later, please write an IOU."

Lu Jingya leaned towards Jiang Hongyu, and Jiang Hongyu immediately moved away, with disgust in his eyes as if he was looking at something dirty.

Aunt Jiang looked at Lu Jingya again and found that she no longer had the good temper she used to have. It was obvious that these two people had no good intentions when they were fooling around in her house.

In the end, Ye Yunkang and Lu Jingya both wrote IOUs, promising to pay the money back within ten days.

Aunt Qing watched the whole process and quietly slipped away. Lu Jingya wanted to cry to Aunt Jiang, but Jiang Hongyu threw the wrinkled wedding dress on her head, and she had to leave in shame.
