Chapter 202 Finding the Wet Nurse

Chapter 202 Finding the Wet Nurse

The moment Ye Mingzhu asked the question, she was almost certain that she was the wet nurse, but how did she escape that year? Why did everyone think she was dead?

"Brother Yu stayed at the county government office because he wanted to find out about his wet nurse. He said he had to find her, or at least move her grave and erect a monument so that she could receive incense and offerings."

Ye Mingzhu stared at Aunt Mo while saying this.

Aunt Mo was a little dazed: "Did he really say that?"

"Auntie Mo, you are the wet nurse, right?" Ye Mingzhu didn't want to beat around the bush and asked directly.

Aunt Mo squatted down as if she was completely powerless, covering her face with her hands, and faint sobs escaped from between her fingers.

Ye Mingzhu could hear the pain and sadness in the voice, but she did not ask any more questions. She just waited quietly by the side. When the wet nurse stopped crying, she handed her a clean cloth.

"I am indeed Yu'er's wet nurse." Aunt Mo wiped the tears from her face, her voice still nasal.

Ye Mingzhu knew her guess was correct. She asked, somewhat confused, "Mo Xing and Mo Wan aren't your biological daughters, are they? But from the looks of them, they don't seem to know. And why don't you admit you're their wet nurse?"

Aunt Mo sighed deeply and briefly recounted what happened that year.

Back then, Aunt Mo fainted and was thrown into a mass grave. Uncle Mo had originally sent his wife to a place near the mass grave for burial, and on his way back, he happened to find Aunt Mo.

Aunt Mo grabbed Uncle Mo's trouser leg and begged him to save her with a weak breath. She also said that she had a gold bracelet in her arms that cured her illness, and everything else belonged to Uncle Mo.

Uncle Mo was kind-hearted. He rescued Aunt Mo and hired a doctor to treat her.

At that time, Mo Xing and Mo Wan were still very young. They only knew that their mother was sick, and that Aunt Mo was seriously injured and took more than two months to recover.

After recovering from her illness, Aunt Mo looked haggard and almost the same as the original Aunt Mo, so Mo Xing and Mo Wan didn't know that their biological mother had been replaced by someone else.

Originally, Aunt Mo was preparing to leave, but her two children fell ill one after another, and it was difficult for Uncle Mo to raise the children alone. In addition, she could not come to Yuanshan Village alone, so she stayed to help Uncle Mo raise the children.

Later, a series of problems occurred and the two people were accidentally enslaved and unable to leave.

Over the years, Mo Xing and Mo Wan have been very dependent on Aunt Mo. Uncle Mo has also been nice to her, and she has gradually come to regard herself as the real Aunt Mo.

Some time ago, when Jiang Hongyu bought them back home, he tentatively asked her if she was a wet nurse.

She looked at Jiang Hongyu, who had obviously grown up, and felt guilty, so she said at that time that she was not that person.

Uncle Mo knew something about her background, but he was not sure if she was the wet nurse Jiang Hongyu mentioned, so he kept silent.

After listening to her experiences over the years, Ye Mingzhu could only sigh deeply.

"Some time ago, someone in the county government said that the wet nurse's body had been thrown away. Brother Yu was so worried that he couldn't sleep well for several days. He stayed in the county this time to find out about the wet nurse."

"I think no matter who you are now, Brother Yu is looking for the wet nurse who took care of him since he was a child. No matter what, you are alive now, which is much better than him going around looking for corpses."

Aunt Mo looked at her: "You don't mind?"

"What's there to mind?" Ye Mingzhu asked reflexively. As long as the wet nurse is still the wet nurse, there is nothing else to mind.

"Auntie Mo, if you have made up your mind, I will tell Brother Yu tomorrow."

"Let me tell you one more thing. We bought a shop in the county town and originally wanted to let Aunt Mo make snacks there. If you don't want to go, I will talk to Brother Yu and we will find another way."

Ye Mingzhu thought about it and pressed Aunt Mo again. If Aunt Mo still refused to admit that she was the wet nurse, she probably wouldn't be able to go to the shop to make snacks.

Aunt Mo was silent for a long time before she said, "Let me think about it."

Ye Mingzhu nodded: "Okay, then Aunt Mo will think about it. By the way, my mother once said that the wet nurse has done a favor for the Jiang family, so she supports Brother Yu to find the wet nurse back."

Aunt Mo's voice trembled a little: "Madam, how has Madam been doing these years? She must have had a hard time taking care of the young master."

Ye Mingzhu watched Aunt Mo start crying again, feeling helpless. She took a cloth from the side and handed it to Aunt Mo.

"Aunt Mo, don't cry. What happened in the past is all in the past. My mother is doing well now. We bought a house in town, and she lives with my brother now. My brother has been here before. Do you still remember him?"

Aunt Mo recalled and nodded. She remembered that he was a talkative and cheerful child who had a good relationship with Jiang Hongyu. The young master she had taken care of since he was a child married a good wife.

Seeing that Aunt Mo didn't say anything else, Ye Mingzhu walked out of the room and stopped the others who came to see Aunt Mo outside.

In the main room, everyone was happily tasting the snacks. Some people didn't want to eat them and wanted to take them back, but Ruan Linlin made it very clear that these were for everyone to try and they couldn't be taken back.

When Ye Mingzhu returned to the main room, everyone was still eating snacks noisily.

Ye Mingzhu was waiting there, watching everyone try the food with a smile. But after a quarter of an hour, the only sound in the noisy room was rejection. Everyone chose the snacks they liked and went back.

Ye Mingzhu asked Ruan Linlin to keep two pieces of each of the remaining snacks and share the rest with everyone.

The group of women had expressions of surprise on their faces and kept saying auspicious words.

Ye Mingzhu waved her hand and asked everyone to take the snacks back to the children. Then the group of people left with the snacks.

"Boss, have you told Aunt Mo about going to the county to sell snacks?"

Ruan Linlin and others asked Ye Mingzhu after they left.

"I told you, Aunt Mo didn't agree, she just said she'd think about it."

That being said, Ye Mingzhu felt that Aunt Mo would agree in the end.

It wasn't until nightfall, when Ye Mingzhu wondered if she had guessed correctly, that Aunt Mo knocked on the door: "Boss, are you asleep?"

"No." Ye Mingzhu opened the door and let Aunt Mo in: "Nanny, have you figured it out?"

Aunt Mo's face had a hint of nostalgia: "It's been a long time since anyone called me that. You should just call me Aunt Mo. I'll go to the county with you tomorrow."

Aunt Mo thought about it for an entire afternoon and finally decided to go and see the child she had breastfed.

"Okay, then we'll go out early tomorrow morning. Brother Yu will definitely be very happy if he knows that you are the wet nurse." Ye Mingzhu's face was full of joy.

Seeing that the joy on Ye Mingzhu's face did not seem fake, Aunt Mo felt relieved, bowed and prepared to leave.

"Nurse, for Brother Yu, your life is more important than anything else." Ye Mingzhu called Aunt Mo and said softly.

So, don't worry about any estrangement after not seeing each other for so many years. Ye Mingzhu said this in her heart.
