Chapter 354 My Private Property
Ye Mingzhu looked at the box, a little confused: "What are these?"
"These are my personal property. I used to be a bounty hunter. Some of these are bounties, and some are gifts from others. I also did some small business in other cities, and all the money I earned is in this."
Jiang Hongyu pushed the box towards her: "We are husband and wife, please help me keep these things."
Ye Mingzhu subconsciously opened the unlocked box, which contained two boxes, one large and one small.
Inside the small box was a thick stack of silver bills, and inside the big box were gold and silver.
She couldn't hide the surprise in her eyes. What kind of small business was this that could make so much money? She also wanted to do it.
She thought so in her heart, so she said it directly.
Jiang Hongyu's expression was a little unnatural: "I'm afraid you can't do this small business."
Ye Mingzhu looked at his awkward expression, and two words suddenly popped up in her mind: "Brothel?"
"What are you thinking?" Jiang Hongyu said with a wry smile. "How could I open a brothel? It's just a, well, a martial arts school. Besides teaching people martial arts, I also take on various tasks."
Ye Mingzhu looked at him blankly for a while, then realized that it should be a place similar to the Mission Hall.
"What are you bringing these for?" There are too many banknotes in this box, less than ten thousand taels.
"Uncle Yan said that he wants to marry my mother and give all the money to her. We have been married for so long, you should keep this money for now."
After Jiang Hongyu finished speaking, he felt a little embarrassed and walked out directly.
Ye Mingzhu didn't expect that Uncle Yan was talking to Jiang Hongyu about getting married.
She had long noticed that Uncle Yan had a crush on Aunt Jiang, but for some reason, Uncle Yan had never made it clear for so many years.
As a daughter-in-law, she had no objection to Aunt Jiang's marriage. Uncle Yan was living with them now anyway, so if the two of them got married, it would be more legitimate.
She opened the box again and took a look, and the smile on her face became more obvious. There were many treasures in her space. She didn't care about the money, but Jiang Hongyu could take these things, which meant that he really wanted to live a good life with her.
Ye Mingzhu waved her hand and put all the things into the space. Since he gave her the things, she would keep them first. If he regretted it, she would return them to him.
After delivering the things, Jiang Hongyu felt much more relaxed. He touched his hot face and went to Aunt Jiang's room with a smile.
When he reached the door, he remembered that he had not yet mailed the letter, so he hurriedly went to mail it.
On the other hand, Uncle Yan wrote several letters and took them to the post station, having them sent out urgently.
Uncle Yan did not go home after sending the letter. He went to find a broker first. He wanted to buy a house near the Jiang family.
He used to be Jiang Hongyu's uncle, so it was acceptable for him to live in the outer courtyard. However, once he married Aunt Jiang, it would be inappropriate for him to live in the Jiang family.
But the newly bought house cannot be too far away from the Jiang family. Aunt Jiang has nothing to do during the day and wants to go to the Jiang family's house to sit, but walking is too tiring.
He directly drew a range for the dentist, and the dentist's smiling face seemed to collapse a little.
The broker said carefully, "Sir, there aren't many houses for sale in the area you mentioned. You can take a look over here. The location is better and the houses are newer."
Uncle Yan didn't even look at it: "I like this location, just look for it according to what I said."
Before the broker could say anything else, Uncle Yan gave him a tael of silver as a reward: "If you have any news, just come here and deliver it."
He pointed to the picture he had just drawn for the broker.
The broker smiled so hard that his teeth were exposed: "I know, I will definitely find a suitable house for you."
Uncle Yan nodded and walked out.
He was thinking about what else he had not arranged. He looked up and walked to the door of the restaurant. He walked straight in, ordered a bunch of food, and asked the waiter to put it in food boxes and take it back to the Jiang family.
Yunniang was a little surprised to see him carrying a huge food box, as it was not yet time for dinner.
Uncle Yan coughed dryly and said, "Hongyu asked me to buy this. Just bring it to the backyard."
Yunniang didn't think much about it and took it directly to Ye Mingzhu's room.
When Ye Mingzhu heard that the things were bought by Uncle Yan, she guessed that they were for Aunt Jiang.
She smiled, sent Yunniang away, and went to Aunt Jiang's room with the food box.
Aunt Jiang had just woken up and was able to get out of bed and walk around a bit.
She was a little surprised when she saw Ye Mingzhu coming in with a food box: "Why did you buy so many vegetables?"
Ye Mingzhu took out the dishes from the lunch box and said, "These are all bought by Uncle Yan. Come and try them, Mom."
Aunt Jiang looked at her guiltily and said nothing.
Ye Mingzhu saw Aunt Jiang's expression out of the corner of her eye and put away the smile on her face. It seemed that making fun of her mother-in-law was not a good habit.
"There are too many dishes, don't take any more." Aunt Jiang was not hungry. Seeing that the table was full of dishes, she quickly stopped Ye Mingzhu and said, "Leave the rest for you to eat."
Ye Mingzhu still insisted on taking out all the dishes and let Aunt Jiang choose if there was anything she liked.
After all the dishes were taken out, Aunt Jiang was a little dazed. Many of the dishes here were her favorites in the past, and she didn't expect Uncle Yan still remembered them.
"Mom, whichever you like to eat, I'll pick it up for you." Ye Mingzhu held a pair of clean chopsticks.
Aunt Jiang didn't ask her to help. She picked up a few pieces of food with her chopsticks and ate slowly.
Although the taste was different from what she remembered, it was still the taste she liked. A smile slowly appeared on Aunt Jiang's face, hoping that she had made the right move.
When Jiang Hongyu arrived, he saw the two of them facing a large table of food and was a little surprised: "Who bought so many vegetables?"
Ye Mingzhu pursed her lips and smiled: "These are all sent by Uncle Yan, they are all mother's favorite dishes."
Aunt Jiang had put down her chopsticks and lowered her head to start putting the plates into the food box, as if she hadn't heard what Ye Mingzhu had just said.
Jiang Hongyu has lived with Aunt Jiang for many years and could tell from her little movements that Aunt Jiang was very satisfied with the food on the table. He looked at the dishes carefully.
These seem to be what my mother likes to eat.
He couldn't help but think in his heart, what kind of dishes does Ye Mingzhu like to eat? He should take her to a restaurant for dinner someday.
He was thinking about something and didn't say much. Ye Mingzhu helped Aunt Jiang put the dishes back into the food box, and then took it to the kitchen, telling Yunniang that she didn't need to cook anymore.
Jiang Hongyu took the lunch box and said, "Let me carry it. It's a bit heavy."
Ye Mingzhu let go, a smile on her face very obvious: "I didn't expect Uncle Yan to be so thoughtful. Judging from the way Mother looked just now, those dishes are what Mother likes."
Jiang Hongyu tightened his grip on the food box and said, "When mom gets better, I'll take you to a restaurant for dinner."
Ye Mingzhu burst out laughing, thinking of the "private money" he had just taken away.
