Chapter 10 You're really amazing

"I'm fine," a weak voice said.

Zhao Hu exclaimed excitedly, "Brother, I'm so glad you're alright! Where are the bird eggs?"

Zhao Long slowly sat up, reached into his pocket, and a ball of egg liquid appeared in his palm.

He said sadly, "It's broken."

Looking at the bright yellow egg liquid, he swallowed and licked it.

Seeing this, Zhao Long also reached into Zhao Long's pocket, pulled out a handful of egg liquid, and licked it like his brother.

Yun Ling: “…”

It looks funny, but it's also a little sad.

The children of this generation are so pitiful.

She sighed.

"Third Aunt, Sister." A clear voice came from afar.

It's Qin Yan and Qin Chuan.

When Zhao Long and Zhao Hu saw Qin Chuan arrive, they glanced at Yun Ling and then ran off.

This man bullies children.

"What's wrong?" Qin Chuan asked.

Yunling recounted what had just happened and asked softly, "Is Zhao Long alright?"

After all, when it left, it ran so fast that even a dog couldn't catch it.

Qin Chuan shook his head and said, "It's nothing. Those two brothers have been climbing trees since they were little, they're very skilled at it. They've fallen countless times, so they're probably faking it. Instead of worrying about them getting hurt, we should worry about whether they're bullying anyone."

“They wouldn’t dare bully us, Grandma will beat them up,” Qin Yan said in a clear voice.

The group carried baskets on their backs, and Qin Chuan carried one on his back as well, holding one in each hand. As they were about to leave, Qin Yan looked longingly at the bird's nest in the tree and said, "What a pity."

"Didn't your grandma say we'd have meat for lunch?" Qin Chuan reminded her.

Qin Yan sighed again.

Seeing Qin Yan's regretful expression, Yun Ling kept glancing at the trees along the roadside on her way home.

When they were almost home, they found a bird's nest behind a jujube tree. Qin Chuan quickly climbed up and found six tiny bird eggs inside.

Qin Yan looked at the bird egg in her hand and smiled happily.

As soon as she reached her doorstep, she smelled a delicious aroma, and Yunling immediately felt hungry.

Qin Yan stepped forward and pushed the door, but it wouldn't open. She called out loudly, "Grandma, we're back."

After waiting a short while, the door opened from the inside. Seeing them come in, Zhang Guihua immediately closed the door and locked it.

The two little girls skipped and hopped to wash their hands, then sat down at the dining table in a flash.

Because she had been cutting grass, her hands were covered in green grime. Yunling rubbed them twice with soap before washing them clean. Qin Chuan waited for Yunling to finish washing before handing her a towel and then began to wash his hands.

The two of them went to the dining table together. In the middle of the table was a small bowl of meat, with mushrooms, white radishes, and potatoes inside. It smelled so good!

Once everyone had arrived, Zhang Guihua called out and began distributing meat to them.

Because Yunling caught the rabbit, she got a share of the rabbit legs, and she also got two more pieces of meat than the others.

Yunling happily started eating. The meat was very elastic and chewy, and she also drank a sip of the broth, which tasted quite delicious.

This was the best meal she had eaten since arriving here, and everyone was very satisfied.

After eating and drinking her fill, Yunling stood up, still feeling a bit bloated. She took a walk around the yard to digest her food.

Liu Yun sat on a small stool by the door, picking his teeth with a willow twig. Looking at the leisurely Yun Ling, he couldn't help but say, "Third sister-in-law, take me with you next time you catch wild rabbits! We're sisters-in-law."

Yunling shrugged and said helplessly, "I already said it was a coincidence, why don't you believe me? We're sisters-in-law, don't you have even this much trust?"

She glanced at Liu Yun with a wronged expression.

Liu Yun's face darkened.

Zhang Guihua picked her teeth, glanced at her, and said, "Hey, eldest sister, if you have nothing to do, go catch pheasants and rabbits. Don't just chatter on and on all day. It's so annoying."

"..." Liu Yun didn't dare to talk back to her mother-in-law. She glared at Yun Ling and said obediently, "Mother, I understand."

She looked at her husband, Qin Shan, with a wronged expression.

Qin Shan scratched his head: "I think what Mom and my sister-in-law said makes a lot of sense. Sometimes I find you annoying."

Yunling and Qin Tiantian burst out laughing.

Liu Yun blushed instantly, covered her face, and went back to her room.

The group chatted for a while longer, mainly because everyone was curious about what was happening in the city, so Yunling recounted it based on the original owner's memories.

Qin Yan said with bright eyes, "I want to be a city person too. I want to eat rice and meat."

"Then you must study hard," Yunling encouraged.

Zhang Guihua agreed wholeheartedly. After the children left, she glanced at Qin Chuan and said dejectedly, "The city hasn't been hiring for a long time. Sometimes they even hire internally, and by the time we find out, the hiring season is over."

Batch after batch of educated youth came to the city, but very few returned. Most stayed in the countryside or settled down and started families there.

Yunling has the original owner's memories and knows that jobs are hard to come by. A formal job costs around 500 yuan, while the average monthly salary for a worker is only 30 yuan.

The problem is that you can't buy them even if you want to.

"Alright, enough of that discouraging talk. Go back and rest; you have to work tomorrow," Zhang Guihua said, standing up.

"Third brother, stay behind for a moment," Zhang Guihua said.

Qin Chuan nodded.

Yunling returned to her room, picked up her pajamas (which were actually just cotton clothes), went to wash up, scooped out a small amount of hot water from the kitchen, mixed it with cold water, and quickly finished her shower.

I dried my hair, applied some face cream, climbed onto the kang (heated brick bed), and felt a little bored.

"System, do you have any forms of entertainment?"

There are no melons to eat right now.

"System, you're so aloof." Yunling felt that her system was just a robot, not intelligent at all.

When Qin Chuan entered the room, he saw Yun Ling lying on the bed with her legs crossed. Remembering how restless she was in her sleep, he immediately felt a headache coming on.

He coughed, and seeing her looking over, he said, "Mother said that the team will be holding a scorekeeper exam in a couple of days, and the one with the best score will be selected. You should prepare for it in the next couple of days."

Yunling's eyes lit up. She really didn't want to cut pig feed anymore; it was too tiring, and she couldn't straighten her back every day.

Suddenly, she asked with a hint of curiosity, "Why aren't you going?"

Qin Chuan said, "The work points are too few, and I'm not good at these formal, bookish jobs."

How many work points does a scorekeeper earn per day?

"Seven work points," Qin Chuan replied.

Yunling lay back down and said, "That's still quite a lot."

After a few days, she also learned about the work points in the team. Generally, men earn at least ten work points a day, while women earn eight.

She only gets four work points a day for cutting pig feed.

Being a scorekeeper is probably less arduous than cutting pig feed, and you probably earn more.
