Chapter 66: School Registration (2/2)

Song Limei and her aunt looked at her in disbelief. This young and beautiful classmate had actually been married for many years. It was hard to tell. They all thought she was in her early 20s at most. They were mistaken.

Seeing that her roommate was unhappy, Song Limei quickly tugged at her mother's sleeve.

Auntie also found that this topic was not very interesting, so she changed the subject to the bed guard.

My daughter is an introvert, and in order to make her feel more comfortable in the dormitory, this bed guard is a must.

As she looked at Qiao Qinglu's bed guard, she said, "It's not difficult to make your classmate's bed guard. You can just get some cloth and some scraps of fabric. But I don't think the school can buy the wire and nails. You'll have to go to the supply and marketing cooperative to get them."

Qiao Qinglu took out a small roll of thin wire and a dozen nails from her shoulder bag.

"Auntie, I've prepared a lot of thin wire and nails. Take them if you need them. And these old newspapers on the table are also there for you to use if you need them."

Auntie smiled and said, "That's so mean."

Qiao Qinglu pushed the newspaper, wire and nails over the door.

"We're just living in the same dormitory, so there's no need to be so polite. By the way, the auntie downstairs has a hammer and pliers. If you need them, just come downstairs and borrow them. I'm leaving now, so please wait for me. Auntie, Limei, goodbye."

Qiao Qinglu put away her umbrella, packed up the quilts distributed by the school, and left the dormitory.

She tied the quilt issued by the school to the back seat of her bicycle and rode out of the east gate of Yenching University.

When she rode to the west gate of Hua Xia University, Xiao Qinyun was already waiting there. He had already successfully registered and received his student ID.

Then, the two of them entered the school, repeated the process of getting books, buying meal tickets, and getting bedding, and then they walked to the door of the boys' dormitory.

The gatekeeper downstairs was a tall and thin lady. They went up to the third floor carrying large and small bags.

Room 304 in Xiao Qinyun's dormitory is an eight-person room with a configuration similar to that of other Yanda dormitories, except that the room is a little bigger and can accommodate more people.

At this time, two roommates had already arrived at the dormitory. A young man with a crew cut was lying on the lower bunk by the window on the left, and a young man with a short haircut was lying on the upper bunk by the window on the right.

When they heard the sound of the door being pushed open, they both sat up, and when they saw a man and a woman coming in, they quickly got out of bed.

The little boss shook hands with them enthusiastically. "Hey everyone, my name is Huang Gang. I'm a mathematics student from Northeast China."

The man with a crew cut also stepped forward to shake hands. "Hey everyone, my name is Zhang Ming, a student of Mechanical Engineering, from Shanxi."

Xiao Qinyun introduced himself: "My name is Xiao Qinyun, I'm also a student of mechanical engineering, from Yenching University. This is my opponent, Qiao Qinglu, a student of the Spanish Department of Yenching University."

Qiao Qinglu lowered her head and smiled without saying a word, giving the home court to Xiao Qinyun.

After exchanging greetings, Huang Gang took out two brown paper bags from the bag under the bed, one filled with hazelnuts and the other with pine nuts. He stuffed two large handfuls into each of the three people.

"This is something my mother asked me to bring. I'm ready to eat it. You guys should try it."

Xiao Qinyun and Qiao Qinglu tasted a few of them. They were big and fragrant, so they put the rest into their pockets.

"Thank you, Mr. Huang. I'll bring you some local specialties when I come back this afternoon."

After Zhang Ming accepted the hardwood, he pulled out a paper bag from under the bed. Inside was some sweet potato chips. He said awkwardly, "We don't have any local specialties, so I brought some sun-dried sweet potatoes from my own garden. You can have a taste."

Xiao Qinyun and Huang Gang both refused, saying that sweet potatoes were dry food and they could not accept them.

Zhang Ming refused to do it. "No, if you don't accept them, then I don't want your pine nuts or hazelnuts."

As he was about to take the sweet potatoes out of his pocket, several people only took two sweet potatoes each.

Then it was time for cleaning, and everyone started to work together. You sprinkled water and swept the floor, I wiped the cabinets, and he wiped the glass. Qiao Qinglu wanted to help but was rejected by them.

After finishing the cleaning, Xiao Qinyun chose the upper bunk on the left, just like Qiao Qinglu. Qiao Qinglu began to make the bed and fold the quilt, while Xiao Qinyun began to use old newspapers to staple the cabinets and the desk. After getting used to it, Xiao Qinyun finished tidying up his things quickly.

After packing up the quilts distributed by the school, the two said goodbye to their roommates and left the school on their bikes.
