Chapter 13 Fireball

"Delivery is available. Please wait a moment, I'll call a car over."

The boss took out his phone and made a call. In less than ten minutes, a rather large van arrived, along with four workers.

She greeted the owner when she came in and started packing the items into boxes and loading them onto the truck according to their categories. Jian Ning stood by and watched. After a while, the owner came over and gave her a list of items, which included the types and quantities.

Jian Ning took a look and realized she had really bought a lot this time. A yacht, a fishing boat, a kayak, a jet ski, and a small two-seater all-terrain vehicle.

The store has a full set of fishing gear, as well as various cold-weather clothing, sleeping bags, outdoor knives, barbecue grills, cookware, binoculars, hammocks, drones, high-powered flashlights, and more. The variety is really complete and the quantity is quite large.

"Should I pay by card or transfer?" Jian Ning glanced at the items on the list and asked the shopkeeper.

"Anything is fine. I estimate it will take several trips to move all these things. You can pay half upfront, and then pay the other half after you've checked everything."

"No need, I trust you." Jian Ning took her phone, scanned the QR code on the counter, made several payments, and then transferred the 4.8 million.

Then he walked directly to the wall and took down the rusty sword. He felt a sudden tremor in the spiritual energy within his body.

She was as thirsty as a child. The spiritual energy on the sword seemed to have suddenly found an outlet, rushing directly into her body.

Seeing Jian Ning holding the sword and suddenly freeze, the shopkeeper quickly came over.

He asked with concern, "Are you alright?"

"It's alright, I'll take this truck to the warehouse first, you guys continue packing and moving the goods," Jian Ning said, only then controlling her body to cut off the absorption of spiritual energy from the sword after hearing the boss's voice.

She really struck gold this time. In just a short while, she had advanced to the second level of Qi Refining and could now use some simple spells.

Overjoyed, he hailed a taxi with his sword in hand and took the box of goods to his rented warehouse.

She let the workers unload all the goods into the warehouse, and then she sat at the door with a chair and waited. It took five or six more trips to deliver all the goods from the store.

Jian Ning paid the driver's fare. She wouldn't ask the boss for such a small amount. After watching the van drive away, she went into the warehouse, and with a thought, everything went into the jade pendant's space.

Just then, Jian Anping called again: "Xiao Ning, wanna go out for barbecue tonight? Your sister Mengyao said she hasn't seen you in a long time."

"Okay, send me the address, I'll be there now." Jian Ning didn't want to eat alone anyway, and suddenly felt that the original owner's life was really quite pitiful; she didn't have a single friend who truly cared about her.

Her only brother in her past life left early, and everyone around her was eyeing her covetously, wishing they could tear her apart. That's probably why she didn't want to live in this world anymore.

She must have been desperate when she gave up struggling in the water. Jian Ning sighed softly and comforted herself in her heart, "Jian Ning, don't worry."

In this life, I will definitely live well for you and take good care of your silly older brother, making sure he doesn't go astray. I will definitely hold on until the world is rebuilt.

Li Mengyao is a very gentle girl from a well-off family. She is about to graduate with a master's degree from Jiangnan University.

She looks a bit like a porcelain doll, but she's incredibly thoughtful. She and Jian Anping have been classmates since kindergarten, and she's suffered a lot of bullying from him.

However, when she grew up, because of her sweet appearance, she was stopped by some thugs in society from dating. It was Jian Anping who saved her. So, it's hard to say exactly when their relationship started.

It's truly astounding that Jian Anping, this petty hoodlum, managed to win Li Mengyao's favor—a frog in a swan's mouth! Their educational backgrounds alone are unequal. I have no idea how he got such incredible luck.

"Ningning, I really have to thank you this time. I heard from your brother that you asked him to sell the house in our hometown and rent Jinmao Mansion as our wedding home. I went home yesterday and discussed it with my parents."

"We plan to set the wedding date after October 1st, when there's a holiday and the weather won't be too hot or too cold." As soon as she saw Jian Ning come over, Li Mengyao took her hand and sat her down to whisper something to her.

"Okay, let's get the marriage certificate first, and the wedding banquet will be on the same day." Jian Ning didn't dare tell her that if the wedding banquet was scheduled for October 1st, it definitely wouldn't be able to happen.

In hot weather, it's easy to get heatstroke if you go out, so everyone stays at home and few dare to go out.

"Yes, that's what I was thinking too. Let's go take our wedding photos first. There are so many things to buy when we get married. We'll have to arrange them all ourselves."

"Sister Mengyao, if there's anything I can help you with, just let me know. I've also rented a place near your house, so we'll be neighbors from now on."

Jian Ning still really likes Li Mengyao. She is simple-minded, kind-hearted, well-educated, and a particularly virtuous wife and mother.

"Okay, I know you're busy, so I won't trouble you with these things. Your brother is idle every day now, so I've arranged for him to do things. After we get married, I'm thinking of setting up a small shop for him to look after."

I'm not looking to make a lot of money, just enough to make ends meet. I'm almost thirty, I need to have something productive to do.

“Sister Mengyao, you’re right.” Jian Ning chimed in, looking at the light in her eyes and her bright expectations for the future, she really couldn’t bear to discourage her.

"You two can get full just by talking? Hurry up and eat these skewers, they'll get cold soon!" Jian Anping picked up a lamb skewer and handed it to Li Mengyao first, then handed one to Jian Ning.

"Delicious, this meat is really good." Jian Ning took a bite and smiled with satisfaction.

I need to stock up on more lamb skewers; there won't be anyone to grill meat skewers for me in the apocalypse. This delicious food is something we'll likely never have again.

After finishing her meal, Jian Ning took a taxi home by herself, without letting Jian Anping and the other person drive her. As soon as she entered the house, she eagerly took out her sword from her spatial storage and tried to pull it out, but it wouldn't budge.

It seems the shopkeeper was telling the truth. Without further ado, he sat on the bed, sword in hand, and began meditating, slowly refining the spiritual energy within. He had just leveled up, and his foundation was still unstable; absorbing more energy would help solidify his realm.

I sat there all night, only to be woken up by the laughter of children downstairs. I checked my phone; it was already past eight in the morning. Time really flies.

However, the meditation that night was quite effective; at least now she felt energetic and refreshed. Moreover, she had reached the mid-stage of the second level of Qi Refining.

With a thought, a small, trembling flame appeared between his fingers. Although he wasn't very good at using this fireball spell, at least he could start a fire. He could take it one step at a time and not rush it!
