Chapter 133 Black Qi

Hearing this, Jian Ning couldn't help but laugh: "Cao Xue, how could I give you that feeling? In this apocalypse, it's hard enough to even protect yourself; just surviving is already a blessing."

"Weren't you and Zhang Xiaoqiang in a good relationship? Breaking up over moving seems a bit impulsive. Going with him might be a good choice."

"Jian Ning, you don't need to try to persuade me anymore. I know it's very difficult for a lone woman to survive in this apocalypse."

But I've already made up my mind. Relying on myself is worse than relying on anyone else. We're both adults now, so it's okay if we separate because we have different ideas.

"That's settled then. I'll still be living here. Just call me on the walkie-talkie if you need anything." Seeing that Jian Ning hadn't agreed to her request to come along,

Cao Xue didn't bring it up again. Anyway, she was living downstairs from her house, so close by, which made her feel very secure.

Zhang Xiaoqiang is a fool. He gave up the most powerful and influential people to seek refuge with Miao Xin and Li Mingxuan. He'll regret it later.

However, everyone must be responsible for their own choices. Until the very end, no one can say whether their choice was right or wrong.

"Okay, I'm going downstairs to take a look. If you need any help, you can let me know." After all, they were classmates, so Jian Ning still gave her a word of advice.

Cao Xue was right about one thing: in this cruel apocalypse, only by increasing one's own strength can one succeed.

That's the best protection for yourself; you can't rely on anyone else. You can't entrust your life to someone else.

Jian Ning had already understood this point.

After going downstairs, it's quite a distance.

He found a secluded spot and put Huang Fugui down: "Tell me, which fish has the most black aura, and which doesn't? Is it categorized by species or by size?"

"It's not about the size, I think it's a matter of the fish species. This one is a small mackerel, right? It doesn't have any blackish tinge at all. I guess it's because it moves around a lot in the seawater."

The fish are young and don't yet accumulate large amounts of harmful substances in their bodies. Therefore, they don't emit black gas.

"Wow, Huang Fugui, how come you've suddenly become so smart?" Jian Ning didn't hold back her praise.

"I'm already pretty good, Master. This ribbonfish doesn't have any black aura. This is a white ribbonfish, a squid, a clam, and what's this fish called? I don't recognize it."

Huang Fugui was pleased by Jian Ning's praise, and pointed at the various fish and seafood on the ground with his furry little paws, giving his comments.

"Okay, I understand. So, what kind of black energy is most prevalent?" Jian Ning then asked. This was also a rather important question.

"These, octopuses, jellyfish, and mackerel, these few look fleshy and have six eyes, and the two with heads, all have a heavy black aura."

"Six eyes?" Jian Ning was truly at a loss until Huang Fugui mentioned it. She walked over, picked it up, and took a look; it really did look quite creepy.

With so many eyes, it takes real courage for anyone to catch it and eat it.

He took out a bag from his pocket, sorted the fish with and without black odor into different portions, and led Huang Fugui back home.

Suddenly, three men appeared behind us. The one in the middle was exceptionally tall, probably almost two meters, and as thin as a skeleton.

He gestured with his chin toward Jian Ning and said, "We've taken care of all the fish in this area. Put down the bag you're carrying!"

"Are you a city management officer? Do you raise these fish?" Jian Ning rolled her eyes at him and continued walking.

"Hey, little sister, don't blame us for being impolite if you keep this up. Put down those bags and don't leave. Come back with us and have some fun?"

The long-faced man on the right was practically drooling over Jian Ning.

I haven't seen such a beautiful young woman in all this time. And she's single. Where else can you find something like this? Whether she's a "fish" or not doesn't matter anymore.

"Second brother, you have something important to do!" The tall, thin man glared at him.

"Hehe, brother, you know what era we're living in, women aren't easy to find. I think this one's pretty good, she's fresh and young, and there's no one around right now, how about we take her home?"

“I agree,” the other man said sullenly. He looked at Jian Ning as if she were some kind of merchandise.

The tall, thin man hesitated for a moment, seemingly still possessing some conscience.

But not much. He thought to himself, it's definitely not worth offending his brother for a woman. Let her be unlucky today.

"Okay, knock her out and carry her back. Be careful not to make too much noise, or it won't be good if the troops find out."

"Don't worry, boss. This place is pretty remote. Even if you shout loudly, no one will come."

Upon hearing his elder brother's agreement, the long-faced man grinned excitedly and pounced on Jian Ning. In his eyes, she was like a fish on a chopping board, unable to make a ripple.

Before Jian Ning could even move, Huang Fugui was already unhappy. With a howl, he jumped up, his sharp claws slicing across her long face, leaving six deep claw marks, and blood gushed out.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!" The long-faced man clutched his face in pain and rolled around on the ground, splattering blood everywhere.

"Second brother, are you alright?" Another man rushed over to check on the long-faced man's injuries.

The tall, thin man stared at Huang Fugui on the ground with a gloomy look in his eyes. He never expected that this animal, which looked like a cat and a dog at the same time, would hurt someone.

Jian Ning seemed oblivious to the man's incessant screams from the ground. She strode forward, carrying the bag in her hand. Huang Fugui followed closely at her feet.

"Wait, you think you can just leave after hurting my people?" The tall, thin man reached out and stopped Jian Ning.

"What, you're not leaving and you want me to stay for dinner? You'd better have some self-awareness, or things will get messy later." Jian Ning said, continuing to walk forward, when she heard a whoosh behind her.

Something came flying at her. She just turned her body slightly and watched as a rather thick stick came crashing down beside her.

It landed on the ground with a dull thud, indicating that it had taken a lot of force.

Let's do it. She just leveled up and might not have anyone to practice on yet. Here she is. Since she asked for a beating, don't blame her for being impolite.

When the second blow came, Jian Ning immediately grabbed the end of the stick with her backhand and pulled it, causing the man holding the stick to stumble and fall to the ground in front of him.

He never dreamed that this girl had such strength. He almost lost his grip on the stick and it flew out of his hand.

Jian Ning had no intention of letting him off the hook. The moment he fell to the ground, she stepped on his right calf. There was a crisp cracking sound, followed by the man's unbearable cry of pain.
