Huang Fugui excitedly flew to the Three-Tailed Phoenix Sunflower, just about to reach out his claws to pluck the flower. Suddenly, an angry roar came from beside him.
Looking up, it saw a gigantic head before it, dozens of times larger than its own. Its gaping maw seemed poised to swallow it whole.
Startled, Huang Fugui flapped his wings and suddenly flew into the air.
"Master, help!" Jian Ning cried out as the enormous leopard suddenly appeared before her. She didn't dare move.
It must have been resting in the flowerbed when Huang Fugui disturbed it.
How could it not be angry if someone tried to steal the sacred herb it guarded? It only let out a roar, which was already quite civilized.
With a quick glance, he pulled a roast chicken out of his spatial storage.
"Hey, let's talk. Do you want some of this?" Jian Ning said, shaking the roast chicken in her hand a couple of times.
The leopard had never smelled such a rich aroma of meat before. It blinked its big eyes involuntarily, and saliva dripped from its mouth.
"How about we make a deal? I'll pick a few of these flowers, and you can trade one roast chicken for ten flowers, okay?"
Jian Ning asked, glancing up at Huang Fugui flying in mid-air, signaling it to translate quickly, in case the leopard couldn't understand her.
Just as Huang Fugui was about to speak, the leopard suddenly roared, stood up, and walked towards Jian Ning with its tail lowered, showing no intention of attacking.
Jian Ning quickly threw the roast chicken in her hand over. The leopard looked up, bit the roast chicken, stopped on the spot, and swallowed the whole chicken in just a few bites.
He licked his lips with his tongue, still wanting more. He tilted his head and carefully examined Jian Ning for a moment.
It meowed twice, sounding very cute.
The sound was completely disproportionate to its enormous size. Jian Ning had never heard such an adorable cry before.
"Master, it says it's delicious and is asking if you have any more? Give us another three or five hundred." Huang Fugui landed from the sky, jumped onto Jian Ning's shoulder, and squatted down, whispering.
"How could I have so many? Its appetite is a bit too big!"
When Jian Ning heard the number Jin Qianbao mentioned, she was stunned. Was this a joke? She didn't have many roast chickens left.
"Awooo!" Upon hearing that there was none left, the leopard became unhappy. If it couldn't get such delicious food for itself, it certainly wouldn't let go of the creature in front of it.
"Master, it said if it runs out of food, it will eat you. Let's run!"
Huang Fugui nudged Jian Ning's shoulder with his paw, signaling her to quickly find a way to escape.
"Although I don't have many, if you can hunt some, I can roast it for you. It will taste almost the same as what you just had."
Jian Ning was unwilling to watch as she couldn't get her hands on such a treasure as the Three-Tailed Phoenix Sunflower.
After thinking for a moment, I came up with a compromise.
The leopard stared at her with its large, bell-like eyes for a moment, then suddenly meowed twice. Then it darted away.
"Fugui, what does it mean? Isn't it watching these flowers? Can we pick them now?" Jian Ning reached out and grabbed Huang Fugui from her shoulder, holding it in her arms as she asked.
"No, it just said it's going hunting and will be right back. If even one flower is missing, we'll both have to pay with our lives."
And we're not allowed to run away.
Master, you can only cook for him here.
If you don't want to do it, let's get going.
Even if it chases us, we can just hide inside the space. It won't have anywhere to find us. Or you could throw a few of those Five Thunder Talismans at it? That should definitely blast it into charred remains.”
"No, these three-tailed phoenix sunflowers are hard to find. Now that we've come across them, we absolutely have to find a way to get our hands on them."
I know this will be especially useful to you, won't it?
Jian Ning patted Huang Fugui's little head. She planned to negotiate with Jinqianbao first. It's just cooking, what's so difficult about that?
Although her cooking skills aren't great, she can still grill meat. These wild animals only eat bloody, live prey.
This is probably the first time I've ever eaten food with seasoning.
If she doesn't like it that much, she can try to appease her, but if that still doesn't work, then she'll have to take it by force.
Just like Huang Fugui said, he picked these flowers and hid in his spatial dimension. No matter how skilled the golden leopard was, it had nowhere to find him.
"Waaah, Master, you're so good to me." Huang Fugui was truly moved. He rubbed his eyes with his paws, but nothing came of it.
In the short time the two were talking, the leopard came running back with a sika deer twice the size of its body in its mouth.
It was thrown directly in front of Jian Ning, and then pawed at her a couple of times.
It meowed, urging her to hurry up and get to work.
Jian Ning took out a boning knife from her spatial storage, strode over, squatted down, and used the knife to skin the sika deer, then cleaned out its internal organs.
I took a bucket of water from the space, cleaned the sika deer thoroughly, and cut it into large pieces. I marinated the meat with black pepper, scallions, ginger, cooking wine, honey, and various other seasonings.
Then they cleared a space from the grass on the ground, built a fire, and began to roast the food.
The leopard lay on the ground not far away, leisurely swishing its tail. It watched Jian Ning's movements with half-closed eyes, appearing completely relaxed.
Because these sika deer live in an environment rich in spiritual energy, their meat is of exceptional quality. It was only grilled for a short while before emitting a rich aroma of meat, which, combined with the flavor of cumin, smelled wonderful.
The aroma made Jian Ning feel her mouth water.
Not to mention the leopard, it couldn't stay on the ground at all. It stood up and kept wagging its tail, pacing back and forth. It probably didn't want to scare Jian Ning, so it didn't come any closer.
Jian Ning tossed the first piece of roasted meat to the leopard, then to Huang Fugui and the wild duck, and ate a small piece herself.
It's so delicious! After eating this meat, Jian Ning even had the illusion that she was a master chef.
After finishing the meat in its mouth, the leopard noticed Jian Ning's little trick and grunted twice in dissatisfaction.
"Don't be so stingy. This deer is so big, we should at least get some food. We need strength to work, right?" Jian Ning wasn't afraid of it at all. Her hands kept moving, tossing it piece after piece of roasted meat.
It took more than an hour to finally feed the leopard.
Jian Ning extinguished the fire, then asked with a smile, "Hey, you're full now. What do you think about what I said earlier about exchanging one piece of meat for ten flowers?"
The leopard lazily lifted its eyelids, meowed a few times, rolled over, and fell asleep.
“Master, it has agreed, but it said that it can only dig up to thirty plants at most, and no more. Also, it needs to roast meat for it tomorrow, otherwise it will take the flowers back.”
