Jian Ning didn't care how Xiao Lingfeng collected the supplies in the house. She first filled the plastic buckets, and then directly put the diesel and gasoline into the jade pendant space.
There were already several large oil tanks there, each capable of holding eight tons of gasoline, all of which she had bought in advance for this use. She emptied all the oil from the gas station and poured it into those tanks according to its type.
Then I went to the convenience store.
Upon closer inspection, it became clear that Xiao Lingfeng had already filled five or six large bags with his belongings. These bags mainly contained packaged convenience foods such as instant noodles, ham, biscuits, and bread, along with water, beer, and a considerable amount of milk.
However, Jian Ning felt that the supplies in the room were much less than normal, and she couldn't help but glance suspiciously at Xiao Lingfeng, who was jumping up to grab instant bread from the water.
I highly suspect he also has a storage space; at the very least, it should be a storage bag or a storage ring. This kid is hiding it quite well!
"Isn't the water-repelling talisman about to expire? Aren't you hurry up and gather supplies? Aren't you going to have enough to eat at home?"
Xiao Lingfeng also felt Jian Ning's gaze fixed on him. He grabbed the instant noodle bag, put it down, looked at her, and asked.
"It's alright, there are many of these talismans, they can be reused, and you won't be afraid to stay in the water for a month." Jian Ning said, grabbing a large bag and stuffing it into the bag as well.
She picked up the essentials first, the things that would fill her stomach. Actually, Jian Ning didn't lack any of these, but since they were free, who wouldn't want them? So, when Xiao Lingfeng wasn't looking, she also put them into her own space.
They specifically pick out large items like beer, milk, and drinks of various flavors.
Unfortunately, all the ice cream in the freezer had melted into water and was no longer edible.
These are all big brands, what a waste. Thinking this, Jian Ning's eyes lit up. She turned back to check the cold storage; she figured not everything in there could have melted.
"With so much stuff, shall I take down the wooden door over there, put it on top, and pull it back?" Xiao Lingfeng loaded more than ten large bags before stopping.
“Okay,” Jian Ning didn’t help, but instead looked around and put anything that looked usable into her space.
She wasn't afraid of Xiao Lingfeng finding out. She had already planned it out in her mind: if he asked, she would say she had spatial abilities. She was sure she could fool him.
When Xiao Lingfeng returned carrying two large door panels, Jian Ning took out a long bundle of rope, arranged everything on the door panels, and tied them securely with the rope. Then she tied the door panels to the kayak.
"How do we get up there? Do we need to take this talisman down?" Xiao Lingfeng felt that at such a height, they would definitely need to rely on the buoyancy of the water to get up.
"No need, just hold onto the rope and don't throw away the supplies," Jian Ning said, helping Xiao Lingfeng sit properly in the kayak and holding onto the rope tightly.
Her spiritual energy circulated within her body, and the kayak rose upwards from its spot, the water seemingly offering her no resistance whatsoever.
Xiao Lingfeng truly experienced the feeling of flying, watching the floodwaters below continuously closing in as they rose. His mind went completely blank.
Everything that happened to Jian Ning was so illogical. Was she some kind of demon or something? Wasn't it said that demons were forbidden after the founding of the People's Republic of China? What's going on with her?
"Did I scare you? This is a skill I learned, something I was born with, or you could say it's a family tradition. Do you want to learn it?" Once the kayak was safely back on the water, Jian Ning turned to look at Xiao Lingfeng's incredulous expression and asked with a smile.
"Thank you, but no need. Since it's a family heirloom, it can't be passed on to outsiders." Xiao Lingfeng hadn't even processed what was happening before he instinctively refused.
Jian Ning smiled slightly and didn't insist. In fact, she didn't consider Xiao Lingfeng an outsider at all. In her heart, this person was even more trustworthy than Jian Anping.
Even if he doesn't have memories of the cultivation world, he shouldn't be an ordinary person in this world.
When the two paddled their kayak back to Jinmao Mansion, with a small mountain of supplies piled up on the door behind them, the residents upstairs all crowded to the windows to watch.
Everyone was in an uproar. These two were incredible; with such a massive flood, they managed to find so much food. It seemed the outside world wasn't as scary as they'd imagined.
"Young lady, which family are you from? I've never seen you before. Shall I help you up?" Before the kayak even reached the sixth-floor window, a middle-aged woman quickly squeezed on and reached out her hand to Jian Ning.
"Thank you, but I don't need it." After saying that, Jian Ning picked up the walkie-talkie and called Jian Anping to come downstairs.
Less than two minutes later, Jian Anping came down carrying a large machete. The people at the window quickly made way for him when they saw his thuggish appearance.
"Brother, there's so much food, you can't possibly eat it all. Can we buy some more? My child hasn't eaten for over a day."
An older woman next to Jian Anping also pleaded with him.
"You guys step aside first, let me pull the person in first. If you keep blocking me, don't blame me for taking action!" Jian Anping said in a gruff voice, his eyes blazing.
"Okay, okay, we'll move aside." The older woman quickly took two steps back. This man looked fierce and intimidating. If she hadn't been so hungry, she wouldn't have gone up to make things difficult for him.
The kayak pulled up to the window, and Jian Ning gently touched the windowsill with her hand and jumped in with ease. If there hadn't been so much stuff, she wouldn't have needed to call Jian Anping down to help.
"Brother Xiao, let me go down and help you carry it!" Jian Anping called out from the window.
"No need, I'll hand it to you, just take it."
Xiao Lingfeng was incredibly strong; he lifted the entire door panel himself and passed it up through the window. Jian Anping caught it and carried it in twice, bringing the entire door panel inside.
A fair-skinned young man nearby even helped out, taking the bed board and placing it on the ground. Seeing the bag overflowing with food, the onlookers were quite excited.
Xiao Lingfeng also jumped in through the window, deflated the kayak, and carried it back.
He glanced at the crowd surrounding him, frowned slightly, and then looked at Jian Ning.
“These things were earned with our lives. You didn’t put in any effort. You can’t expect to get them for free. Here’s what we’ll do: if you want to eat, you can exchange them for something valuable.”
"Hey girl, do you think I have a platinum ring? How much can I get for it?" The older woman who had spoken earlier immediately rushed over with her hand outstretched as soon as she heard that Jian Ning was willing to exchange food.
"Here, this is what I bought for my wedding. It even has diamonds on it. It cost me over 20,000 yuan."
Jian Ning nodded. "Brother, give her three bags of things, and a case of water too." Then she turned to the woman and said, "She can't be picky. Just take whatever you give her. After all, I'm not selling goods here."
