Chen Gang looked at He Hua, who was crying and had snot running down her face, and he felt disgusted. What's more, he felt pain all over his body and wanted to hurry back to the educated youth settlement to apply the medicated oil.
"Don't cry, so what if they took it? Didn't you still have some hidden in that piece of clothing inside?"
"Let's go back. We don't need to eat or buy anything. We'll figure it out when we get back to the educated youth settlement," Chen Gang kindly reminded him.
"Two hundred yuan, only fifty left. So much is gone, how much my heart aches," He Hua said, still unwilling to accept it.
"Do you have a way to get it back? Didn't we already call the police?"
Besides, if you run out, we'll ask your family to send some more. Let's go, let's hurry and catch the oxcart back."
After Chen Gang finished speaking, he took the lead and walked towards the oxcart.
Seeing this, He Hua quickly wiped away her tears and caught up with Chen Gang.
When the two arrived at the oxcart, one of the women couldn't help but ask, "What have you been doing? Did you go to fight?"
"What's it to you? Stop talking nonsense."
He Hua was already holding a grudge, and now that aunt had walked right into her trap, so He Hua cursed at her.
"Tch, I was just trying to ask you a couple of nice questions, and you yelled at me. You two deserve to get beaten up, humph." The aunt who was being yelled at retorted without any politeness.
"Who wants your fake kindness? You just want to see me make a fool of myself," He Hua retorted defiantly.
The woman wanted to continue arguing with He Hua, but another woman next to her quickly pulled her back, preventing her from speaking again.
"Why are you holding me back? Do you think I'm afraid of her? She's just an educated youth from the city. What can she do on our turf?" The aunt, who had been scolded, retorted angrily.
"Alright, that's enough, the bus is leaving," said Old Man Song, who was driving the bus.
The people on the bus stopped talking after hearing this.
Chen Gang watched all of this with a cold eye, too pained to care about He Hua's pointless affairs.
He just wanted to go back and rest properly; the two of them had originally planned to go to town happily.
Who knew that thugs would steal his money? It's all because of He Hua's bad luck. If it weren't for her bad luck, he wouldn't have been surrounded and beaten by thugs.
Thinking of this, Chen Gang couldn't help but glare fiercely at He Hua.
He Hua noticed Chen Gang glaring at her and assumed that Chen Gang was disgusted by her arguing with the villagers.
I suddenly felt very wronged and kept my head down the whole time without saying a word.
When the two returned to the educated youth settlement, Su Tian was just about to leave, pushing her bicycle.
"snort,"
He Hua snorted as she passed by Su Tian, and was about to go back to her room when Su Tian swiftly slapped her across the face.
"Hmph, still hmph? You think you're so great? All you do is hmph, are you a pig? Even a pig can't hmph as well as you." Su Tian glanced at He Hua and said.
He Hua touched the side of her face that had been swollen from the beating, and dared not utter another sound. She ran into her room in fear.
