Chapter 11 Exams: The Evil Final Exam

Chapter 11 Exams: The Evil Final Exam

With summer vacation still some time away, Sawada Tsunayoshi not only had to receive a barrage of tutoring from Irie Shoichi, but also continued his daily volleyball club activities.

Hinata already loved spiking, and now, after playing in a match, he's become even more obsessed, dreaming about spiking every day.

But reality did not favor him. He had no good setter like Akaashi Kyoji. After playing for a few days at the club, Hinata's dream changed from spiking to how to steal Akaashi-senpai back to set the ball for him.

The last hope rested on Coach Suzuki. Suzuki could feel Hinata's burning gaze every day and was extremely persistent.

Coach Suzuki coldly told Hinata to go practice his basic skills.

Tsunayoshi was powerless to help. The coach wanted them to hone their basic skills, and the club's daily menu consisted of a huge serve return.

The two of them continued their morning run without fail. Later, Eri Irie dragged Shoichi Irie along and squeezed this tech geek into the morning run group as well.

Sho was lazy and didn't want to run, but Irie's mother said that running was good for his health. The boy, who always listened to his mother and sister, diligently followed along and experienced the same pain that Sawada Tsunayoshi had gone through.

It's hard not to grow taller when you're running and jumping every day. Sawada Tsunayoshi and Hinata have both grown a few centimeters in height recently, although they are still among the shortest in their class.

Hearing this, Irie Shoichi, who was grading the two papers, suddenly remembered something and turned to ask Tsunayoshi.

"Xiao Gang, have those people still come looking for you during this time?"

As mentioned before, Sawada Tsunayoshi is often bullied, and occasionally someone might dislike him and beat him up.

During this time, Tsuna and Hinata were inseparable. Although Hinata and Tsuna were about the same height and even had similar hairstyles, their temperaments were completely different.

Hinata is lively and gets along well with everyone in the class. Even Tsunayoshi has become more outgoing because of her. Seeing this, most of the classmates gradually stopped bothering Sawada Tsunayoshi.

There are definitely a few students who still dislike Tsunayoshi, but they can't find a time when Sawada Tsunayoshi is alone, so they can only suppress their anger and watch Sawada Tsunayoshi become more and more dazzling.

What Irie Shoichi was talking about was that one day Hinata was cleaning. Tsuna was originally planning to wait for him to go to the club together, but Irie's school had an event that day and school ended early in the afternoon. So Hinata said, "Tsuna, why don't you go outside and find Shoichi first? I'll come find you guys when I'm done."

Sawada Tsunayoshi probably followed his friends' advice in these matters. When he arrived at the school gate, he caught a glimpse of a troublemaker boy in his class with a face full of wounds. He didn't know who had beaten him up.

He was a little gloating, and fearing he would get into trouble, he lowered his head and hurriedly ran towards Irie. But it would have been better if he hadn't lowered his head, because it made him more noticeable to the boys there.

Seeing that Sawada Tsunayoshi's neck was tucked away and not even Hyuga was with him, the three of them immediately perked up and blocked his way after he left the school.

Seeing their malicious smiles, Sawada Tsunayoshi instinctively stepped back, feeling a little troubled. After such a long period of peace, he had almost forgotten what his school life was like before Hinata came.

Sawada Tsunayoshi pondered, recalling how he had escaped from these people in the past. His silence led the three boys to mistakenly believe that Tsunayoshi was afraid, and they became even more disdainful. The leader of the boys was indignant.

"We can't beat that god of death, but you, a mere good-for-nothing like Tsuna, are no match for us."

Sawada Tsunayoshi didn't really understand this kind of behavior that derives pleasure from bullying the weak.

After waiting for a while and finding that Tsunayoshi hadn't come out, Irie followed the road and came this way. What he saw was three fierce-looking guys surrounding his little Tsunayoshi. The thin and small Tsunayoshi looked so frail that anyone who saw him would worry.

In a moment of impulsiveness, Irie Masakazu rushed forward, completely ignoring the fact that he himself was a complete weakling, even less capable than Tsunayoshi, who had only been playing volleyball for a month.

"Hey, what are you doing!"

The group of thugs turned their heads and found that the newcomer had messy hair, his face was backlit and his expression was not clear, and his eyes on the bridge of his nose gleamed with a cold silver light. It was clearly after school, but this guy was not wearing a school uniform. The long, unidentified object he was carrying on his back also made him even more intriguing.

A sinister bespectacled man!

The elementary school students were frightened and immediately retreated.

Because of today's school activities, Irie Shoichi wasn't wearing his school uniform. He looked up blankly, the setting sun casting its glow on his face, which was filled with confusion and innocence. He loosened his fists, which he had clenched tightly with anger.

What happened to them?

Sawada Tsunayoshi didn't understand either, he only knew that Kosuke had scared away three people all by himself!

You're amazing, Xiao Zheng!

Irie Shoichi ignored the three inexplicable people and carefully examined Sawada Tsunayoshi. Only after confirming that everything was alright did he ask what had happened.

Finally, Irie Shoichi and Hinata discussed it. The two, who were already inseparable, became even more like conjoined twins, even going to the toilet together.

Sawada Tsunayoshi retorted, "What kind of girls are we?"

But his rebuttal was ineffective, or rather, Tsuna was actually quite happy.

So he shook his head, "No."

Holding the pen in his hand, he thought carefully, "I've been so busy lately! I feel like I haven't run into those three people for ages."

Hyuga's subordinate scribbled furiously, adding, "There are still some, but when we run into each other, we're both together, and Tsuna's head is completely filled with math and volleyball, so he can't notice anyone else at all."

"Oh, is that so?"

Now Irie Masakazu also remembered something else, "Speaking of which, the atmosphere in Namimori has improved a lot recently. We haven't seen many of the thugs around our school lately. Before, we would see them gathering to collect protection money and stuff."

"Finally, someone's come to punish them." Hinata spread out the test paper. "I've finished this one too!"

Irie Shoichi put away his wandering thoughts. "Let me see."

Sawada Tsunayoshi sped up his writing, his mind inevitably drifting back to the "God of Slaughter" those boys had talked about back then.

In the end, Sawada Tsunayoshi passed the final exam with a score of 42 in mathematics. It's not hard to imagine how Irie Shoichi spent that time.

This time, Irie Shoichi did not accompany them to the summer camp, but watched as Sawada Tsunayoshi and Hinata Shoyo got into Coach Suzuki's car.

Before leaving, he wished he could stuff more books into the bags of those two academic underachievers. Irie never wanted to relive the time he spent tutoring Hinata and Tsunayoshi. He also had music practice to do during the summer vacation and couldn't stay with Sawada and Tsunayoshi all the time, otherwise he thought Coach Suzuki really wanted to recruit him to play volleyball together.

Volleyball players are like this: they want to recommend their own to everyone they see. Look at this volleyball, it's so big and round, aren't you tempted at all?

"It's a pity that Xiaozheng can't come with us." Kneeling on the back seat of the car, Sawada Tsunayoshi watched Xiaozheng's figure gradually disappear from sight through the rear window. He climbed down and sat down, feeling rather unhappy.

Hyuga leaned against Tsuna's shoulder and said, "I mean, it would be great if we could get Sho to come and play volleyball with us."

You guys all have the same idea.

However, they could only dream about it. Hinata knew that although Shoichi and Tsuna were both good-natured and loved to complain, Irie Shoichi was much more stubborn and wouldn't actually come to play volleyball just because they were persuaded.

He sighed and turned his attention back to Xiao Gang.

“It’s okay. Xiao Zheng said he’ll come to play with us when he’s not practicing, so we can also take advantage of our break time to watch Xiao Zheng practice music.”

He's already very fortunate to have Tsunayoshi; Tsuna is even willing to learn how to hold a ball for him.

And most importantly, I'll be able to play volleyball with Akaashi-senpai again soon!

"The first day is the camp opening ceremony. We went to register and put our luggage down first."

Coach Suzuki handled the entire registration process for Tsuna and Hinata. He was very familiar with the procedures. The dormitory was a two-person room, and he specially applied to put the two of them in the same room. Suzuki also specially chose the room next to Akaashi Kyoji, hoping that the three of them could look after each other.

Or perhaps it's just a one-sided concern from Chiwei.

But no matter what, it's very important to build a good relationship with the setter!

The concerned coach led Tsuna and the others to their dormitory. The dormitory supervisor came over and gave them a long list of safety instructions. After seeing them off, Suzuki picked up his name tag.

"I have another coaching meeting to attend. You two be careful not to leave the park. There's an opening ceremony later, and a teacher will notify you. Don't wander around."

Watching their coach leave in a hurry, Sawada Tsunayoshi and Hyuga exchanged a glance, then happily plopped down on the bed, rolling around a few times before finally getting up.

Yay, I'm free!

"Let's go next door and see if Akaashi-senpai has come yet," Tsuna suggested.

Hinata nodded, and they climbed out of bed and ran to knock on the door next door.

The person who opened the door was not Akaashi. At first glance, the other person did not see anyone and thought they had encountered a ghost in broad daylight. They were so frightened that they almost called out Akaashi before noticing the two furry heads.

He looked down. "Can younger students participate in this summer camp too?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he was met with two angry glares from the two short men.

After learning more, the tall boy waved his hand.

"I'm sorry, I just made a reasonable guess based on the height."

These words infuriated Hyuga. Hearing the commotion, Akaashi Kyoji walked over, punched the guy, and while he clutched his sore spot and retreated, Akaashi invited Tsuna and the others in, talking as they walked.

"Ignore him, Chi is just being cheeky, just give him a punch."

Hinata and Tsuna stared wide-eyed as Akaashi-senpai uttered something quite extraordinary in a calm tone.

"His name is Kujo Ikeya, and he is Coach Kujo's son."

Sawada Tsunayoshi nodded knowingly, thinking of Coach Kujo's towering height. Kujo Ike followed from behind, not caring that he had been beaten up, and was still smiling.

The other person had a perfect set of white teeth. "You must be Hyuga and Sawada, the ones Kyōji mentioned when he came back last time. I didn't think before I spoke, sorry about that. I'll treat you to soda after the camp orientation!"

Sawada Tsunayoshi thought they were indeed father and son, the process was exactly the same.

A note from the author:

----------------------

The thought of Xiao Zheng having to take responsibility for two academically challenged students makes me want to laugh.

You've really worked so hard, Xiao Zheng (wiping away tears)

Spreading rumors about the childhood friendship storyline of Fukutani, wait a minute, how come the three childhood friends of Fukutani ended up with Karasuno, Namimori, and only Akaashi left in Fukutani?

Tsuna's school registration was at Namimori because Hibari-senpai believed that those who lived in Namimori would die in Namimori, thus rejecting Tsuna's transfer application.
