Inside the tree hollow, the boy began skillfully treating his wound before Li Si could even touch him. Clearly, he was used to bandaging wounds, and as he applied the medicine, he said gratefully:
"Thank you for saving me, Your Excellency!"
Why are you here alone?
"The little man's village is nearby. If he hadn't been injured, he wouldn't have ended up being chased by harpies."
Li Sisui watched as more and more hounds gathered under the tree, growing from three to more than a dozen, all drawn by the scent of blood.
This place is probably not safe to stay in for long. If we don't leave soon, who knows what we might encounter.
Li Sisui looked at the boy whose wound had been bandaged and who was staring intently at him, and said:
"We need to leave as soon as possible; the harpies are gathering in large numbers!"
"This place isn't far from the bandit village. If Your Excellency is willing, I can lead the way," the young man said sincerely.
"Bandit Village?"
Li Sisui asked with slight doubt, "Could it be that there are villages inhabited by the Tu ethnic group so close to the sect?"
Seemingly noticing Li Sisui's confusion, the young man quickly said:
"The village is full of old and frail people. Because the village is hidden, the Cloud Piercer has not been seen for a long time and has lost contact with the clan for many years."
After listening to the boy's words, Li Sisui took out a stone tablet from his person. The boy was very excited after seeing it and said:
"So Your Excellency is the Cloud Piercer! I am truly honored!"
"Since I am outside the sect, there is no need to address me like that. My name is Li Sisui. What is your name?" Li Sisui said calmly.
Unexpectedly, this young Cloud Piercer was so approachable and down-to-earth, quite unlike any Cloud Piercer I had ever met before.
The boy's face flushed red, and he stammered:
“My surname is Lunalou Yugumu Zheshuduotumukuadebuaxi, and my given name is Sheng.”
Seeing the strange look on Li Sisui's face, he quickly continued:
"Just call me Xisheng. My surname is long and it is a low-class surname, but it is the only thing that has been passed down from my ancestors."
After speaking, Xisheng's expression became downcast, as if he had recalled some sad things.
Although Li Sisui was surprised by Xisheng's unique surname, he didn't pay much attention to it, since the name in the previous world was just a code.
Unlike the world today, where people are divided into different classes simply by their surnames, Li Si, whose surname is probably not much different from Xi Sheng's.
The three most recognized surnames among the Tu people today are Su, Li, and Dongfang. As for other surnames, they are naturally considered inferior.
Xi Sheng could see that the Cloud Piercer in front of him seemed indifferent to these things, and did not show any of the superior attitude that ordinary clansmen would show after hearing this.
Seeing the growing number of lapdogs at my feet, they were even starting to pile up like a human pyramid on a tree.
Li Sisui hesitated for a moment, then flung out the light chain in his hand. Carrying the injured Xisheng, he leaped a few times and landed on another large tree not far away.
Because of the lingering scent of blood left by the boy on the tree, the harpy under the tree did not realize that its prey had already escaped, and continued to circle the tree, huffing and puffing as it tried to climb up.
With his remaining cultivation, Li Sisui managed to carve out a tree hole large enough for two people, then sat down on the tree trunk to begin recovering his cultivation.
Before meditating, he gestured for Xisheng to rest in the tree hollow and instructed him:
"We can only stay here for now. After you have rested and recovered, we will send you back to Xiangma Village tomorrow."
The boy named Xisheng obediently nodded in agreement and silently climbed into the tree hole.
Leaning against the cave wall, he quietly watched Li Sisui, who was meditating with his eyes closed, a glint of light occasionally flashing in his eyes.
The afterglow of the sunset bathed the entire forest, turning the originally dark green sea of trees into golden waves, dazzling and eye-catching.
"The recovery efficiency during the day is too low now. It takes three hours to barely recover 10%. It seems that I can only wait until nightfall to recover," Li Sisu muttered to himself.
Looking at the scene of the forest bathed in the afterglow, it's like a magnificent painting slowly unfolding before my eyes, a sight to behold.
Xisheng, standing behind him, was also staring intently at the scene before him. Clearly, he was seeing something like this for the first time and couldn't help but murmur:
"So beautiful! So magnificent!"
“Indeed, to see such a beautiful sight today is a blessing in disguise!” Li Sisui chimed in.
The two fell silent, gazing at the beautiful scenery before them, both unconsciously becoming deeply immersed in it.
As night fell, a cool breeze blew, and the boy named Xisheng huddled in the tree hollow, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.
Li Sisui sat cross-legged at the cave entrance, and the moonlight, as real as the moon, rushed into Li Sisui's meridians at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye.
Feeling his cultivation level gradually increasing, Li Sixui unconsciously smiled.
Since breaking through to the Pulsating stage, Li Sisui has been engrossed in refining and condensing his weapon, without carefully sensing the internal changes.
Now, deep in the wilderness and forests, hundreds of miles away from the clan, there is no need to deliberately hide anymore. With all his might, the speed at which his cultivation is recovering is beyond his expectations.
In just four hours, his cultivation level had recovered by about half, and it seemed that he would be fully restored before dawn.
According to the Cloud Piercer's Manual, the reason for traveling during the day and hiding at night is mainly because visibility is poor at night and cultivation cannot be restored.
Li Sisui is quite the opposite of what's recorded in the manual. If we really followed the manual's instructions, it would probably take forever to complete the mission and return to the sect.
"call"
Li Sisui let out a long breath, opened his eyes, and after cultivating all night, he felt not at all tired but instead full of energy.
Looking at the sleeping boy beside him, he seemed to see in a daze the bewildered young man who had just woken up and followed the Cloud Piercer all the way.
Things had changed, and in just a few years, Li Sisui finally had a little bit of power to protect himself.
