The drowsiness that had just washed over him vanished instantly. Li Si got up, climbed over a few large trees, and looked down.
There was a boy who seemed to have a leg injury, with blood gushing out. In front of him were three black and reddish canine-like animals that kept hissing at the boy but did not take a step forward.
Li Sisui had seen this creature in the Cloud Piercer's Manual; it was a canine that liked to eat carrion and drooled, called a Hala dog.
With a keen sense of smell, it is good at tracking the scent of blood. It is not strong, with the highest level being the Initial Stage of the Harmony Realm, but it is still difficult for ordinary people to resist.
Hounds like to huddle together, appearing in groups of three or five, and rarely appear alone.
The boy cried out in despair, but even he knew that he was likely to die here today.
The three hamsters stared intently at the food in front of them, and while keeping an eye on their surroundings, they slowly surrounded the boy.
As he lost more blood, the boy's face turned pale. He leaned against a large tree, too weak to move.
Suddenly a loud shout came from above:
"Give me your hand!"
The boy subconsciously looked up and saw a young man standing in the tree, looking at him anxiously. He instinctively reached out his hand.
With a "whoosh",
A chain of light shot out from the youth's right hand, arriving first and wrapping around the boy's arm.
The young man suddenly pulled, dragging the boy along the tree trunk all the way to a thick branch in the middle of the tree.
The hamsters were furious as their food flew away. They paced around the tree, with one of them repeatedly trying to jump up into the tree.
The hound was simply not suited for climbing, so it could only howl and bark incessantly under the tree, showing no intention of leaving whatsoever.
Li Sisui did not make a move immediately, but observed for a while.
The Cloud Piercer's Manual states that one should only rescue others if their own safety is ensured.
Li Sisui observed the boy under the tree. He did not have the tail or scales described in the manual, so he should be of Tu ethnicity.
Although Li Sisui could easily defeat the three hamsters under the tree, his cultivation level had already been depleted during the long journey, and further depletion would only cause more trouble.
After some consideration, it was decided that it would be safest to pull the boy up into the tree.
Although the number of harpies may increase, they are unlikely to climb to high places and will naturally disperse at night, so there is no need to worry.
For now, we can only rest in the tree and recover our cultivation, and make further plans tomorrow.
After being rescued by Li Sisui, the boy remained in a daze, staring straight at Li Sisui without uttering a single word.
After rescuing the boy, Li Sisui didn't offer any further explanation. He simply made a makeshift hole in the tree and gestured for the boy to go inside.
There was no more blood seeping from his leg, but judging from the boy's complexion, he was clearly not in good physical condition.
