Chapter 47: Waking up from a nightmare is the morning

It's undeniable that the princess's ability to judge emotions is even stronger than Sherlock Holmes'. Just a few words from Liu Gongzheng reveal the entire story. If she were a detective, her case-solving rate would probably be the highest. Conan Doyle could have written a novel called "The Princess Kunxing," which would likely be even more popular than Sherlock Holmes.

An hour later, Jinbao brought up the medicine prescribed by Imperial Physician Hu. Kunxing had Liu Gongzheng help Zhao Xiaofei up while she personally fed him the medicine. Afterward, she sent Liu Gongzheng downstairs. Upstairs, she and her husband were alone. Kunxing took off her shoes and lay down on the bed, embracing Zhao Xiaofei. She had long since grown accustomed to having her husband by her side every night; it was a sign of her attachment to him.

After an unknown amount of time, Zhao Xiaofei woke up, got out of bed, and headed straight for the yard. He immediately traveled back to the present day and drove home. Along the way, Zhao Xiaofei floored the accelerator. The speed was so fast that it felt like they were home in an instant. He opened the door, but his mother and eldest brother were nowhere to be found.

He wanted to call his brother, but couldn't find his phone. So he decided to go to the company to look for Jiang Xiaomei, but when he got there, everyone was busy with their own things. He saw Guan Xin and asked, "Where is your CEO Jiang?"

"General Manager Jiang has been at the construction site recently, and the progress of the project is a bit slow. She said she wants to go and keep an eye on it personally." Guan Xin said.

"Lend me your cell phone!" said Zhao Xiaofei.

Guan Xin handed over the phone. Zhao Xiaofei called his eldest brother, but no one answered. He called his mother, but no one answered. Then he called Jiang Xiaomei, and someone finally answered.

"Hello! Why haven't I been able to contact you for so many days? The exhibition hall is almost completed now. Can you come over and take a look?" Jiang Xiaomei said.

"Come back to the company immediately, I have something to tell you!" Zhao Xiaofei said anxiously.

"What's the rush? The project isn't finished yet!" Jiang Xiaomei said.

"I told you to come back, so come back quickly! Why waste time talking!" Zhao Xiaofei roared.

"Okay! Okay! Okay! Don't worry! I'll be back soon!" Jiang Xiaomei replied.

Zhao Xiaofei hung up the phone and went upstairs to his and Jiang Xiaomei's office. He looked at the calendar on the table and realized that today was Sunday, so no one should be working. So he went downstairs to ask Guan Xin why she came to work today.

But when he got downstairs, Guan Xin was gone. At this moment, the office door opened and a beautiful girl walked in. She greeted Zhao Xiaofei and said, "Hello, Mr. Zhao!"

"Who are you?" Zhao Xiaofei asked.

"Mr. Zhao, you forgot that I bought something for you in the mall that day," said the girl.

"You are Qin Baobao!" Zhao Xiaofei asked.

"Yes! I am Qin Baobao!" said Qin Baobao.

"Isn't today Sunday? Why are you and Guan Xin both here at work?" Zhao Xiaofei asked.

At this time, Guan Xin appeared behind. She and Qin Baobao both grinned and said, "Of course we are here to kill you!" After that, the two of them took out daggers and stabbed at Zhao Xiaofei.

Zhao Xiaofei screamed in fear and ran to the side, his two daggers stabbing into nothingness. He ran to the office, and the two women followed him there with knives in hand. Guan Xin grinned and said, "Run? You're going to run? This time, let's see where you can run to." But Qin Baobao said nothing, pointing the knife at Zhao Xiaofei.

The two women were getting closer and closer. Just as they were about to plunge their knives into Zhao Xiaofei's chest, a steel pipe from the scaffolding, with a strong metallic smell, came crashing down on them. The daggers in their hands fell to the ground, and they were both knocked to the ground. Zhao Xiaofei then saw the person coming. It was a woman wearing Hanfu (Chinese traditional clothing). It was Jiang Xiaomei.

"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and leave?" Jiang Xiaomei shouted.

"Oh!" Zhao Xiaofei immediately followed Jiang Xiaomei downstairs. Before they reached the bottom of the stairs, two daggers flew towards them with a strong wind. They were about to stab Zhao Xiaofei. At this time, another person appeared and knocked Zhao Xiaofei to the ground. The two daggers did not stab him, but directly stabbed Jiang Xiaomei.

At that moment, Zhao Xiaofei wanted to scream, but couldn't. He watched helplessly as Jiang Xiaomei was killed. Then, a second later, Jiang Xiaomei stopped, her hands forcefully pulling out two daggers. Two bloody holes appeared on her body, and blood oozed out, soaking her snow-white Hanfu. Jiang Xiaomei's appearance changed, transforming into the assassin.

He held two daggers, with one eyeball hanging out of its socket. He rushed towards Zhao Xiaofei, muttering, "I want your life!"

As the daggers stabbed him, the person who had just tackled him rushed over again. This time, Zhao Xiaofei saw who it was: Li Sihong! Two daggers pierced Li Sihong's body. Li Sihong vomited blood and fell into Zhao Xiaofei's arms. The assassin pulled out the dagger and, without a moment's delay, stabbed him again. However, before the assassin could finish sheathing the knife, a sword pierced his heart.

Looking at the owner of the sword, it turned out to be Princess Kunxing, Zhu Mianzhu. Blood splattered on Zhu Mianzhu's face, but Kunxing's hands did not stop, her eyes filled with anger, she raised the sword again and struck at the already seriously injured Li Sihong.

"Kunxing!" Zhao Xiaofei wanted to yell no, but before he could say anything, the sword had already pierced Li Sihong's back, and the tip of the sword was exposed from her chest, piercing his own chest.

Zhao Xiaofei wanted to cry, but it was difficult to breathe. Someone kept shouting in her ear: "Husband! Husband! Wake up and don't scare Kunxing!"

At that moment, Zhao Xiaofei felt like he had fallen into the water and was sinking. Then, someone seemed to pull him out of the water. Finally, Zhao Xiaofei could breathe air. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and found himself still in bed in the Misty Rain Tower. Beside him was the weeping Princess Kunxing. It turned out to be a nightmare!

When Princess Kunxing Zhu Mianzhu saw her husband sitting up, she immediately took a towel to wipe Zhao Xiaofei's sweat. She said, "Husband! Are you okay? Don't scare Meizhu! Can you say something?" Tears streamed down her young face.
