However, Li Lechen was certain that the person who answered Cao Wenming's call was someone important, possibly a city leader or a big boss.
But no matter how respectful and polite Cao Wenming was to the other party on the phone, as the director of the Political Education Department, he could be quite assertive to himself. After all, he was caught red-handed with a girl holding his arm.
I only found out after copying the student handbook that linking arms with someone is strictly prohibited, regardless of whether the two people have established a romantic relationship.
Moreover, if things are strictly enforced, I have violated at least five points of the student code of conduct regarding the prohibition of dating, based on my journey with Jiang Bai.
So I don't feel wronged. I just want to type faster, even faster, and finish typing, or rather, finish copying as soon as possible.
Cao Wenming hung up the phone, glanced at the student who was practically scribbling away with his face pressed against the desk, then closed the office door and left.
Before leaving, he naturally instructed the teachers still in the office to keep a close eye on this student who was in a relationship too early, as he would be subject to a school-wide public reprimand afterwards.
As for himself, the most important thing was to go to the school gate to greet Mr. Water Cube. Oh no, he's just surnamed Shui, I really don't know his real name.
Actually, the Water Cube is quite nice, if your surname is Shui (meaning "water").
Li Lechen didn't mind. Anyway, he wouldn't be able to finish copying it within an hour. He had just finished the first copy, which took about half an hour.
The Chinese exam is already halfway over, right?
Continue writing furiously.
Soon, Cao Wenming welcomed his "benefactor" from the school gate to his office, where the air conditioning was on full blast, a stark contrast to the sweltering heat outside.
The man in the baseball cap wouldn't be wearing one today, as that wouldn't make him look like a "distinguished person." He was there today as the CEO of a certain group, to express his gratitude for the help his employee received from the virtuous students of No. 2 Middle School; therefore, he was dressed in a suit and tie, his hair styled with gel and slicked back.
As for what group's CEO he is, just make one up and print it on his business card.
As for the name, I just made up a surname, Shui, and the three characters "Water Cube" flashed into my mind, so I decided to just call it Water Cube.
Because of its early name, it also benefited from its own name at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The man in the baseball cap was politely invited into the Political Education Office by Cao Wenming. A cool breeze blew out of the office, and the man in the baseball cap, who had been feeling stuffy because he was wrapped up tightly, breathed a sigh of relief.
"Mr. Shui, please come in..." Cao Wenming warmly led the man in the baseball cap towards his office.
Cao Wenming's office was a partitioned office within the main office of the Political Education Department, located at the very back, requiring passage through the entire main office on weekdays.
Li Lechen was still sitting at a desk in the large office copying the student code of conduct. Compared to the first time, he was much faster the second time because he had some memory of it. In the short time it took Cao Wenming to leave, he had already copied most of it in about ten minutes.
At this rate, I can finish the Chinese exam before it ends.
With a goal in mind, I copied even more diligently.
Two people walked by. Li Lechen heard the sound and saw them out of the corner of his eye. But that was none of his business; he just needed to focus on copying.
The man in the baseball cap also saw the student who was hunched over and writing something, but because his head was bowed so low, he couldn't see what the student looked like.
Of course, the most crucial point is that this student wasn't wearing glasses; that's Student A, who has absolutely no connection to me, so I can just ignore him.
"Mr. Shui, this way please." Cao Wenming continued to lead the way, opening the door to his office.
Cao Wenming's office has a desk, a chair, a sofa, and a coffee table. Because it is a separate room, the central air conditioning cannot reach it, so an additional air conditioner was installed.
Once inside, I realized that I had thought of every detail, except for forgetting to turn on the air conditioning beforehand.
As a result, Cao Wenming's office felt like a furnace compared to the larger offices outside.
This is even worse than outside. At least outside there's air circulation, and although it's hot, there's occasional breeze. But in this office, it's just stuffy and unbearably hot.
It was incredibly awkward for a moment.
"I think we should sit outside," the man in the baseball cap said frankly.
That's all we can do.
Cao Wenming quickly tidied up the documents on the desk, pulled over a chair, and the two sat down.
The location was about three or four meters away from the desk where Li Lechen copied the student code of conduct.
"Can I see that student's file?" The man in the baseball cap got straight to the point as soon as he sat down.
Indeed, he did all this in order to obtain all the information about the boy who supposedly found a 'naked' diamond worth about 50 million, so that he could formulate a specific implementation plan based on his situation.
This is what the "boss" meant when he said, "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated."
The methods he used, from posting online to impersonating wealthy people to extract information, were taught to him by a senior member of the organization. This included how he resolved A-Cai's situation.
So even if you're a hoodlum, you should keep learning until you're old.
The organization's bigwig, however, kept his achievements and fame hidden.
Cao Wenming naturally already had access to all of Li Lechen's student records. The records showed that he was an ordinary student, even one with relatively poor academic performance.
The only saving grace is that this student has no bad record in terms of moral character. Whether it's fighting, early romantic relationships, or any other issue, there is no record of it, either in public records or in private feedback.
