"I give up."
Li Yu glanced at the executive officer discreetly and answered in a low voice, her tone slightly suppressed.
The executive officer slowly brought his head close to Li Yu's ear and whispered:
"If you're convinced, then get lost."
Although Li Yu's coal had been confiscated, the executive officer's greedy eyes kept glancing at the black horse beside Fu Xiyao.
If it weren't for the crowds and distractions, he would have definitely taken this dark horse.
The so-called official regulations of the shelter were completely ignored by him, as they were mere formalities.
Then, the executive officer smiled smugly, raised his head, and shouted loudly to his subordinates:
"Keep selling!"
His men continued hawking lighters and coal.
Li Yu didn't say another word, silently turned around, and left with Fu Xiyao.
He had already memorized the executive officer's appearance and aura.
Judging from the executive's proud expression, this wasn't something specifically targeted at him; it had always been the case.
I fear that this executive officer has used his position and the shelter's regulations to punish and oppress many innocent people.
However, this time, he clearly messed with the wrong person.
Sensing Fu Xiyao's nervousness, Li Yu gently held her hand and comforted her:
"Don't worry, we will definitely get our things back."
Li Yu raised her head, her gaze sweeping over the watchtower high above and the patrol teams that appeared around her from time to time.
The shelter was surrounded by their own people, and they outnumbered them.
Aside from the executive officers and patrol team, the shelter also has a born awakened holy son, and the people around him are all formidable.
Although the exact strength of the Holy Son is unknown, it is likely no weaker than that of an ordinary Awakened One.
If we want to get revenge, we'll have to take it slowly.
Li Yu decided to use the remaining coins to buy more bows and arrows, just in case.
Watching Li Yu's departing figure, the executive officer's henchman approached him like a fawning lapdog and inquired:
"Captain, do we need to take special care of him for a few days?"
"Take care of her?" The executive officer's lips curled into a cold smile.
That's a good idea, and he was about to nod in agreement.
Suddenly, he remembered that the shelter was about to hold an elite selection competition.
The leaders at the shelter have been checking on them more strictly these past few days, and have repeatedly emphasized that they must not cause any trouble.
He didn't want to be replaced by this year's elites because of such a trivial matter.
It would be best for him to keep a low profile for the next couple of days and wait until this crucial matter has passed before making any further moves.
Thinking of this, the executive waved his hand impatiently:
"No need to take care of him anymore, this kid is lucky."
Normally, he would consider himself unworthy of being the executive officer if he didn't kill Li Yu half to death.
Meanwhile, Li Yu was searching for people selling arrows around the market.
"Young man, what do you need?"
Do you want a sweater?
People kept asking me questions along the way.
Li Yu wandered around for a long time, but there wasn't a single person selling bows and arrows, or even weapons.
After wandering around for a while, Li Yu realized that the weapons seemed to be under strict control by the shelter.
Li Yu recalled that the situation was similar with the previous team in the Black Mountain safe zone.
Even though Zhang Biao's troops suffered several attacks from refugees and lost so many guards, they still didn't leave behind a single firearm.
It seems no one wants the refugees to get weapons.
However, even though he didn't get any firearms, Li Yu didn't think his bow and arrows were any worse than firearms.
Li Yu felt somewhat helpless and was about to leave.
A mysterious figure emerged stealthily from the shadows and strode quickly toward Li Yu.
The man was carrying a large box on his back, and his eyes kept darting nervously around, like a guilty rat.
The other person came directly in front of Li Yu and whispered:
"I have all kinds of goods here. If you want them, come with me."
After saying that, he walked under a dark awning and turned back to signal Li Yu to follow.
Li Yu looked at Fu Xiyao, and Fu Xiyao, as if by telepathy, immediately sensed the surrounding environment.
“He’s all alone,” Fu Xiyao said.
As long as it wasn't an ambush, Li Yu told Fu Xiyao to wait there with Xiao Hei, while she followed the other woman into the awning.
Seeing Li Yu follow him in, the other person smiled and asked:
"Hehe, what do you want?"
"Do you really have everything here?" Li Yu asked with some skepticism.
"Hehe, who in the shelter doesn't know the name of Black Rat? Honest and trustworthy, whatever you want, I have it." Black Rat chuckled sinisterly.
Do you have a gun?
Upon hearing this, the black rat was not afraid at all; instead, its eyes lit up.
He looked Li Yu up and down:
"Of course I have them, but I'm afraid you can't afford them."
"What's the price?" Li Yu asked, just to give it a try.
"40,000 coins, or equivalent goods."
Although Black Rat knew Li Yu couldn't afford it, he still answered Li Yu's question.
"So expensive?" Li Yu exclaimed in surprise.
Black Rat seemed to know Li Yu's concerns and continued with a hint of smugness:
“I enjoy going against the people in the shelter. If I hadn’t just seen the executive officer targeting you, I wouldn’t have bothered with you.”
Seeing this, Li Yu stopped probing and went straight to the point, stating his needs:
"Do you have any good bows and arrows? I need both."
Black Rat glanced at Li Yu's black bow:
"We don't have a bow, but we have plenty of arrows."
Speaking of bows and arrows, Black Rat suddenly remembered something and let out another chilling laugh:
