Chapter 21
Lin Wan curled the corners of her mouth, reached out and pushed Chen Yu, trying to create enough space between them.
She didn't use any strength at all, just a light push, and Chen Yu fell back obediently, and then stuck back in an instant.
"Chen Yu, don't be so childish." Lin Wan said.
Because Chen Yu was in front of her, Lin Wan had no choice but to press her hands on the sofa, her five fingers sinking deeply into the soft leather, creating wrinkles of varying depths.
"Childish?" Chen Yu repeated Lin Wan's words, pressing his hand on the back of Lin Wan's neck, and gradually leaning down.
The tips of the noses touch.
"Lin Wan, are my feelings so cheap?" Chen Yu's voice was a little low. The distance between them was too close.
The fingers on the back of Lin Wan's neck exerted force, forcing Lin Wan's jaw to lift up. A faint warmth came over him, carrying a certain alluring meaning.
"Chen Yu, do you know what you are doing?" Lin Wan's voice trembled a little, but it was not because of fear, but more like some emotion breaking out.
"certainly."
The sound was so close that it made Lin Wan's ears numb. The kiss continued. Unlike the first kiss, which was light and gentle, this time Chen Yu bit Lin Wan's lips lightly, but the force was very light, as if he was punishing her.
In an instant, Lin Wan's body quickly leaned back, her fingertips curled up, and the girl's slender fingers on the brown sofa were so tense that they turned white and almost sank into the sofa.
After the kiss, Chen Yu seemed to be particularly attached to Lin Wan. He put his arms around her neck, as if relying on her, but also as if he was imprisoning her. He buried his head in the crook of Lin Wan's neck again, like a kitten.
The weather outside the window darkened. The originally sunny sky was covered with dark clouds, and the air pressure dropped. Pedestrians on the road who did not have umbrellas began to run.
The room was quiet for a few minutes. Chen Yu leaned against Lin Wan's neck, his soft black hair touching her skin.
He is warm.
Raindrops hit the camphor tree outside the window, a few drops at first, and then gradually became denser.
Thunder rumbled outside the window, and lightning streaked through the clouds, almost connecting with the ocean in the distance. The huge noise almost instantly brought Lin Wan's somewhat precarious sanity back.
"Xiaoyu, we are brother and sister."
She pushed Chen Yu away with a stiff movement, walked to the dining table and sat down.
"We will always be brother and sister," she said.
Chen Yu didn't say anything. He stood there and looked at Lin Wan silently. His originally clear eyes showed an expression that Lin Wan couldn't understand.
"So, do siblings kiss?" Chen Yu asked, the smile on his lips deepening, with a certain evil taste in his mouth.
Lin Wan tightened his grip on the chopsticks and said nothing.
The program crew arrived on time and knocked on their house at nine o'clock in the morning on the third day after Lin Wan arrived in the town.
Chen Yu opened the door. Photographers came in carrying cameras.
The director is a middle-aged man in his fifties. Even his black hat cannot hide his gray hair. His vision does not seem as sharp as before due to the obstruction of his framed glasses.
"Hello, Uncle Yang!" Lin Wan smiled and bowed to Yang Enchang.
Yang Enchang's gaze was originally on Chen Yu's face, but when he heard Lin Wan's voice, he immediately nodded to Lin Wan.
He is a good friend of Jiang Yuexing and a renowned director both in China and abroad. The fact that he was invited to the show was a testament to the entrepreneurs' willingness to invest in their companies' image.
"Xiao Wan is already this old, and I'm old too." Yang Enchang talked about his age like all middle-aged people, but then he quickly laughed and added: "Not necessarily, I'm actually quite young."
"Yes, Uncle Yang, you are still strong and healthy." Lin Wan said and laughed.
Cameras were set up in the room one after another. The large machines could not be moved to the second floor by manpower alone, so in the end they could only use a handheld lens to scan twice as material.
Lin Wan studied the script sent to them in advance. Unlike simply sitting at home to interview the characters, they hoped to explore more aspects of the characters and present a more three-dimensional character to the public.
The interview was divided into three days. The purpose of the first day was to let the audience get to know Lin Wan and others. It was mainly in the form of questions and answers, so the shooting project was relatively small and the difficulty was relatively low.
Lin Wan had participated in numerous interviews of this nature since she was a child, and had appeared with her mother at numerous events, both large and small. It was no surprise that she handled the situation with such ease.
——And Chen Yu.
Lin Wan looked at the young man who was talking freely in the camera. He was confident and dazzling. Even though the camera caused slight distortion of his face, he was still very handsome.
It gives people a feeling that he was born to be in front of the camera, and people are always attracted to him.
When asked about further plans for the future, Chen Yu smiled, raised his drooping eyelashes, and answered.
"I was admitted to the same university as my sister. I want to study hard with her and strive to become a better heir..."
Lin Wan couldn't hear what Chen Yu said next. She bit her lower lip anxiously, not daring to look at the way Chen Yu was looking at her.
Attending the same university?
His plan was bound to fail.
During a break in filming, Yang Enchang asked Lin Wan, "How are your brother's grades?"
"Very well, I was just admitted to the junior class." The established facts were easy to answer, but Lin Wan felt a little surprised that Yang Enchang asked this. He should not be interested in the performance of the younger generation.
"The junior class. Then you can become a scientist in the future!" Yang Enchang was quite surprised. He took the hat off his head with one hand holding the brim, smoothed his hair back with the other hand, and put the hat back on.
"That's probably not going to work." He murmured, and turned to other topics: "Xiao Wan, are you still painting?"
He used to ask Lin Wan this question often.
Lin Wan smiled and shook his head.
Yang Enchang patted her shoulder as if to comfort her: "There will always be a way when you reach the mountain." As he said this, he shook his head and walked away with his hands behind his back.
Filming continues.
Taking the weather into consideration, the next day we planned to film the two of them catching the sunrise and expressing their wishes and dreams in front of the rising sun at the beach.
A very majestic, magnificent and unparalleled conception.
However, the sunrise at the beach is around five o'clock. In order to do her makeup, Lin Wan needs to get up at three o'clock to start reducing the swelling - which is extremely unreasonable.
Lin Wan sat in front of the mirror, feeling like she could fall asleep with her eyes open. The makeup artist was also very tired. As Lin Wan squinted her eyes and tried to stay awake, she heard her yawn more than once.
When she opened her eyes, the young girl had dark circles under her eyes and red bloodshot eyes.
Lin Wan sat up straight to make it easier for her to move.
Wishes and dreams are two extremely beautiful words. The moment they are spoken, the speaker seems to have really realized the wonderful things he said in an instant.
Lin Wan certainly has many wishes, but she almost never speaks them out loud. She only measures the distance between reality and them, makes plans, and then realizes them step by step.
So when facing the romantic sunrise, Lin Wan's mind was in a mess and he didn't know what to say for a moment.
She thought it was extremely foolish to express those unfulfilled wishes out loud - to shout them out loud.
So, Lin Wan and the photographer could only stare at each other. She opened and closed her mouth, but could not utter a single word.
Chen Yu sat next to her and was also exceptionally quiet.
The sea is particularly beautiful at sunrise, with large expanses of water shimmering with golden light, dazzling yet gentle and peaceful. Even the rugged reefs along the coast have become much gentler.
The sun gradually rose above the sea, and the photographer's eyelids drooped little by little.
"Brother, what is your wish?" Lin Wan took the initiative.
"To make money." The photographer replied without even raising his eyelids. It was a very simple wish.
If others can say it, then she can too!
Immediately, Lin Wan made up his mind, stood up, and shouted towards the boundless ocean.
"I hope to be someone who brings value to others! I also hope that our brand can, on top of serving the lives of others, bring more life experiences to our customers!"
What a passionate voice and high morale!
There was applause from the photography crew, and some even cheered for Lin Wan.
Lin Wan cast a determined look at the man, and received an even more enthusiastic look in return.
But it's just - nonsense!
In front of the camera, Lin Wan shouted with a firm look on his face, but when he turned his head away, his chivalrous mood quickly turned into loneliness and confusion.
dream?
This word appeared in Lin Wan's ears when she was very young, and was mentioned over and over again by different adults.
Her mother hoped that she would say that she wanted to be a painter, so the young Lin Wan said that she wanted to be an artist.
Her grandparents hoped that their future children would inherit the Lin family business, so in front of relatives and friends, she said with a serious face that she wanted to be an entrepreneur in the future, inherit the Lin family wood business, and carry it forward.
Such a grand dream was expressed by such a young child in such a tender tone. All the adults were amused, except for her closest family members.
Mom frowned and looked at Lin Wan in confusion; Dad looked at Mom; Grandpa and Grandma looked at each other, whispered a few words in her ear, and looked at Lin Wan with dissatisfaction, as if she had said something extremely rebellious.
Amid the adults' laughter, that was the first time Lin Wan felt out of place.
In the days that followed, Jiang Yuexing passed away. She had only one goal in mind, which was to escape from this home and this city.
So, to sum up, Lin Wan has never had a dream. If she had to say she had one, it would be that she hoped everyone around her would like her.
It was just a child's idea. Even worse than what she had just said. Lin Wan raised the corner of her lips in self-mockery, looking at the rising sun.
So beautiful, yet so heavy.
Lin Wan stared at the sea for a long while, barely calming himself down. Just as he was about to return to his original position, he heard a "bang" as if something had hit the ground heavily.
The enthusiasm of the film crew, initially stirred by Lin Wan, suddenly cooled. Everyone gathered, forming a moderately large circle around a single point.
Lin Wan squinted his eyes in the light and barely identified the direction. It seemed to be the place where Chen Yu had just stood.
Lin Wan quickly ran over and learned the news - Chen Yu had fainted.
Thinking it might be low blood sugar, someone fed Chen Yu a piece of candy, but his condition didn't improve.
The crowd was somewhat restless.
