Fu Junheng arrived at Mu Chenshuang's bedroom door, gently pushed it open with both hands, and slowly walked in.
The candlelight inside the room was still on.
Fu Junheng walked into the inner room and could vaguely see the woman lying on the bed through the curtains. He walked forward, raised his hand and gently lifted one of the curtains, walked towards the bed, sat down, reached out and pulled the quilt up to cover her.
"I hope you will carefully consider what I said today, Shuang'er. There are some things you absolutely must not touch."
Mu Chenshuang lay on her side, not asleep.
Suddenly.
She propped herself up with one hand, sat up, and looked the man straight in the eye. "So, what exactly are you referring to? Did it happen or not?"
Fu Junheng looked at her with his deep eyes, and the suspicion and doubt in her eyes were all too obvious.
“You shouldn’t meddle in Shen Nanzhi’s affairs,” Fu Junheng said bluntly, his expression serious.
Mu Chenshuang sneered, "What's done is done, there's no point in saying anything now. Besides, I know what I've done, and it's no use lecturing me. You, as the crown prince of another country, should be the one to avoid suspicion, listen less, know less, and meddle less."
After Mu Chenshuang finished speaking, she could clearly see his expression change and become somber. She ignored him, turned her gaze away, and said with a low sigh, "You and I are not on the same path, and we cannot empathize with each other, so no matter how much you say, it will be meaningless to me."
There was a hint of disappointment in his tone.
Fu Junheng completely ignored the unusual tone in his voice. His sword-like eyebrows furrowed slightly, and a deep, cold glint appeared in his dark golden eyes. "Shen Nanzhi can empathize with you."
Mu Chenshuang was taken aback. She suddenly looked up at him and saw his suddenly changed expression. Her eyes darkened slightly, and she felt an inexplicable displeasure. She said, "Think whatever you want. I'm too lazy to explain to you."
After Mu Chenshuang finished speaking angrily, she lay down on the couch, pulled the quilt over herself, and wrapped herself tightly, clearly indicating that she did not want to talk to him.
Fu Junheng sat on the edge of the bed, watching silently with deep eyes.
After a long while, the man remained motionless, simply staring intently with a deep, unfathomable expression on his handsome face.
With her back to him, Mu Chenshuang suddenly felt agitated. She gripped the blanket tightly with both hands, her pupils constricted, and she was extremely unhappy. His so-called pursuit had never been sincere from beginning to end, so how could she trust him? There was no need for her to explain further.
The room was deathly silent.
Just then.
A sudden noise came from the roof, though it was very faint, it was still noticeable to the two of them.
Fu Junheng's eyes sharpened.
Mu Chenshuang suddenly sat up, narrowing her eyes as she looked towards the roof. She glanced at the man beside her, showing no intention of chasing after them.
Fu Junheng looked away and glanced at her.
However, Mu Chenshuang didn't want to say a word to him now. She coldly withdrew her gaze, then lay back down, pulled the quilt over herself, and turned her back to the man.
But who exactly was that person? Was it the Imperial Observatory? A night assassin? Or was it really that person?
Thinking it over, Mu Chenshuang dared not think any further. She closed her eyes and heard the man's deep voice beside her say, "I'll stay here with you tonight. Rest assured."
As Mu Chenshuang listened, her hand tightened involuntarily.
She did not turn around, nor did she respond to Fu Junheng's words.
After a while.
The man got up, lowered the bed curtains, and turned to walk out of the curtains.
