Chapter 51 Jiang Translation
Jiang Yi's invitation was scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Unlike Lin Xingche, who waited downstairs and knocked on the door early, he sent a low-key yet luxurious black sedan to pick her up. The driver was a middle-aged man with slightly graying temples, wearing a well-fitting black suit. His attitude was perfectly respectful, and his driving was so smooth that one could barely feel any bumps; he was clearly professionally trained.
The car slowly drove away from the city.
The scenery outside the window gradually sheds its bustling concrete jungle.
Skyscrapers have been replaced by rolling green hills, and endless fields stretch alongside asphalt roads. Lush green rice seedlings sway gently in the wind, and the air is filled with the fresh scent of grass and earth, making even breathing feel easier.
About an hour later, the car stopped in front of an ornate iron gate.
The iron gate was in an antique European style, with vine patterns entwined around it, gleaming with a faint metallic sheen in the sunlight. With a soft creak, the gate slowly opened inwards, revealing a long, tree-lined path.
Grapevines lined both sides of the road, their lush green leaves layered upon each other.
Heavy bunches of grapes hang from the vines, their purple hues resembling strings of agate, so plump they seem ready to burst with juice at the slightest touch. It's grape season, and a gentle breeze carries their rich, fruity aroma.
The car slowly drove along the tree-lined avenue and finally stopped in front of a beige European-style villa. The villa had a pointed Gothic roof, rose vines climbing the walls, and beautiful flowers on the windowsills, making it look exactly like a medieval noble castle.
Jiang Yi was already waiting at the door.
He wore a pure white, handmade suit, the precise tailoring highlighting his tall and slender figure. A section of neatly pressed shirt cuff peeked out from the sleeve, emphasizing the distinct knuckles of his wrists.
His dazzling blond hair was styled meticulously.
Not a trace of disorder; his deep blue eyes seemed to hold the stars and the sea; beneath his high-bridged nose, a faint smile played on his thin lips; he was as elegant as a noble prince who had stepped out of a classical oil painting, exuding an air of nobility from head to toe.
"Jiaojiao, you're here."
He stepped forward, his voice gentle and pleasant, like a spring breeze caressing the surface of a lake.
He reached out to help her out of the car, but paused slightly just before his fingertips touched her hand, instead making a "please" gesture:
"Please come in."
Su Jiaojiao nodded inwardly at his restrained and polite demeanor.
Just as Tuanzi said, this Jiang Yi is a cunning and seemingly refined scoundrel. He appears gentle and polite on the surface, but is actually quite obsessive at heart.
As Jiang Yi entered the villa, a rich aroma of wine wafted towards us.
The villa's decor is luxurious yet tasteful. Several valuable oil paintings hang on the living room walls, and thick Persian carpets cover the floor, so soft to the touch that it feels like walking on clouds.
"Jiaojiao, sit down for a while."
Jiang Yi pointed to the sofa in the living room, then turned and walked towards the wine cabinet.
"I'll go get you a glass of wine."
He took a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet; the label on the bottle was yellowed and looked quite old.
"This is 1982 Lafite."
Jiang Yi opened the bottle while speaking softly.
"I've treasured it for many years, and I've always been reluctant to drink it."
"Since you're here today, it's perfect time to try it."
He gracefully decanted the wine, then poured two glasses of red wine, handing one to Su Jiaojiao and keeping the other for himself.
"Try it."
Jiang Yi raised his glass and smiled slightly at her.
Su Jiaojiao took the wine glass, took a small sip, and found the red wine to be rich and full-bodied, with subtle fruity and oaky aromas that slid smoothly down her throat, leaving a lingering and delightful aftertaste.
"Delicious"
She exclaimed sincerely.
A hint of a smile flickered in Jiang Yi's blue eyes as he watched her sip her wine, a subtle fascination in his gaze. Her full, red lips, stained with the color of the red wine, were even more alluring, making one want to lean down and taste them.
But he restrained himself.
He knew that haste makes waste.
He wanted to gradually make her get used to his presence, to make her unable to live without him.
…
