Chapter 132, Showing Off
After Christmas, the two returned to their studies, but Zhang Youyou was clearly somewhat distracted.
Cheng Qiu nudged Liu Ping, gesturing for her to look at Li Yanyan and Zhang Youyou beside her, and wrote on a piece of paper: "Do you think they look alike?"
Liu Ping glanced at the two people who were also sending WeChat messages on their phones and silently shook her head. Cheng Qiu was shocked. Liu Ping then replied below: "Exactly the same!"
The two chuckled to themselves.
After lunch, back in the dormitory, Cheng Qiu took out four scarves and placed them on the table for them to choose from.
"Since everyone's here today, here are four scarves, one for each of you. You can choose!"
Having been staying at Li Donghao's house for some time, Zhang Youyou was unaware that Cheng Qiu had prepared a gift, which surprised and bewildered her.
"I didn't know you had prepared a gift; I didn't prepare anything."
"It's okay, I didn't ask you for any gifts. I just wanted to learn in my spare time, so please don't be too critical if I don't knit well!" It was rare for Cheng Qiu to be so modest, and the three of them smiled as they picked out scarves.
The four scarves were blue, purple, red, and off-white. Li Yanyan looked at them, took the red one, and turned to hang it around Zhang Youyou's neck.
"Youyou has fair skin, so the red one suits her perfectly!"
The others looked over and agreed with Li Yanyan's judgment. Zhang Youyou also went to the mirror to take a look and found it to be quite good, so he accepted it.
Liu Ping took the blue one, Li Yanyan chose the off-white one, leaving only the purple one for Cheng Qiu. The four of them wrapped the scarves around their necks and gathered together to take a picture. Zhang Youyou then sent a selfie to Li Donghao.
The three of them huddled together, watching her exchange knowing glances as she couldn't suppress her smiles, before finally jumping behind her, startling her so much that her phone almost flew out of her hand.
"What are you doing? You scared me to death!" Zhang Youyou turned off her phone, turned around, and started playing around with them.
With someone she likes and friends, Zhang Youyou feels that her life is great right now, and she can persevere even though final exams are approaching.
Back at Li Donghao's house that evening, Zhang Youyou finally remembered her childhood sweetheart, Li Dongshuo. While waiting for her takeout, she sent him a WeChat message to tell him that her Christmas gift had been delivered and asked when he would send her a thank-you gift. To her surprise, Li Dongshuo replied instantly.
Lee Dong-seok: Didn't the gift arrive?
Zhang Youyou: ? ? ?
Lee Dong-seok: Isn't my brother the best gift?
Before Zhang Youyou could reply to the message, he received a video call. Without thinking, Zhang Youyou immediately accepted the call.
"Oh, it's rare that Young Master Li still remembers me. What's wrong? Is your roommate not here today?"
Knowing she wouldn't say anything nice to him, Li Dongshuo wasn't annoyed and went along with it, saying, "Whether you're here or not, Miss Zhang has to come first!"
To avoid her pressing him further, Lee Dong-seok continued, "When do you guys get your holidays?"
"I'm not sure, probably around the middle of the month. What about you?"
"Same as you. My brother said he might not be able to pick you up that early, so he asked me to come pick you up. Can't you get home by yourself?"
Knowing he wouldn't say anything nice, Zhang Youyou took her phone and went to the room with a forced smile. She took her car keys from the cabinet, waved them at him, and said sarcastically, "I can't help it, it's too far to drive myself!"
Lee Dong-seok's eyes widened when he saw the car keys. Of course he knew that the car his brother was driving didn't belong to him. With Zhang Youyou's expression, he knew what was going on without even thinking.
Where did you come from?
Zhang Youyou sat lazily in her chair, leaning back, and said, "Of course it was given to me by your brother. Didn't you get one too?"
Lee Dong-seok gritted his teeth, "He really treats you differently!"
"Of course! Would you like me to take you downstairs to see the car?"
"Need not!"
Zhang Youyou was extremely pleased that he had angered Li Dongshuo so much. However, before hanging up, he still told him to come visit him during his vacation. Although Li Dongshuo was furious, he still had to agree, otherwise not only would his brother not let him off the hook, but his grandfather would not let him off either. This is truly a case of "Why did you have to be born if you already have Li Dongshuo?"
