Chapter 444 Get out

Ye Man dared not linger there. Next time, the lunchbox might not be flying to He Zhangcheng. She put the lunchbox on the bed and ran away. Only after leaving the ward did a smile appear on her face.

He Zhangcheng was stunned by his mother's attack, so this was a good opportunity for him to experience her power.

"Get out! Get out of here! I don't want to see you again!"

Liu He roared at He Zhangcheng to get out of the ward. He Zhangcheng left quickly and lay back on the bed, wiping his eyes, feeling heartbroken with anger.

Ma Mingyue looked at the metal lunchbox with a dent in it, "...Auntie, are we really going to live here?"

"You only realize that now? Weren't you just trying to persuade me, saying that you were doing this for my own good!"

After being scolded, Ma Mingyue could only stare at the shoes. What could she do? In that situation, she could only try to persuade the mother and son to stop fighting. They weren't really serious. Who would want to live here if they couldn't even take a shower?

She felt wronged. Her aunt had been so good to her before she came, saying that she would only recognize her as her daughter-in-law and would definitely find a way to get her cousin-in-law home. Didn't she believe that?

She's practically an old maid by now, but her cousin refuses to divorce his wife, and their relationship is getting better and better. Even her aunt has started getting angry with her.

"You were just standing there, not even offering to help. You just watched me get bullied by that vixen Ye Man. It's one thing for my son to be bewitched by her, but what about you? And why were you there?"

Liu He vented her anger on Ma Mingyue. Ma Mingyue listened for a while with her fists clenched, and finally couldn't help but say that she would go outside to get her some water and then rushed out.

The large bump on He Zhangcheng's forehead was particularly noticeable, and it had turned purplish-blue. He was too embarrassed to walk so casually back to his family compound, and he didn't dare to go back until it got a little dark.

Ye Man was cooking noodles. She was going to pick up her daughter, but Xiao Ting refused. She said she wanted to sleep with An An tonight. Uncle Lu's bamboo bed was ready, and she wanted to watch the moon outside.

She had to come back alone. Since the child wasn't there, she ate simply, just boiled some noodles and poached an egg. He Zhangcheng's return came at just the right time. Ye Man looked down at the bowl and felt that the two of them were now comrades-in-arms in the same boat. She didn't want to eat alone, so she silently divided the noodles into two bowls and took them out.

He Zhangcheng sat at the table, his hand propping up his forehead to try and hide the bump on his head. He was too embarrassed to look at Ye Man. Ye Man pushed the bowl in front of him. The bowl contained a bowl of plain noodles, topped with a freshly fried golden egg and a few bright green vegetable leaves.

The man kept his head down, avoiding eye contact with her, probably because he didn't want her to see the bump on his face. Ye Man didn't want to look at him either, afraid that she would burst out laughing, which would be too embarrassing. So she could only hold back and eat her noodles with her head down.

Neither of them spoke at the table. He Zhangcheng ate quickly, finishing a bowl of noodles in no time, while Ye Man ate only a little bit, chewing slowly.

He Zhangcheng secretly watched her; she found it pleasing to the eye even just to watch her eat a bowl of noodles, and the same noodles seemed to taste exceptionally delicious to her.

Lost in thought, Ye Man initially tried to pretend she hadn't seen him, but eventually decided that if he kept staring at her, she might as well put down her chopsticks.

"Not full? There's still some noodle soup in the pot, go cook some more yourself."

"Huh? No..."

The woman under the lamp glared at him with a hint of annoyance in her eyes. He Zhangcheng hurriedly denied it and stood up to take the bowl to the kitchen. He was so flustered that he knocked the bowl over and dropped the chopsticks on the table. Luckily, he had finished the noodle soup, otherwise he would have had to wipe the table.

Ye Man: "Then you can wash the pots and pans in the kitchen while you're at it."

"good"

With the stares no longer fixed on her, Ye Man breathed a sigh of relief. Thinking back to the scene in the ward, she chuckled to herself, picked up her bowl, and took a sip of soup. "Mmm, the noodles I cooked tonight are really delicious."
