"Alright, let's go and see what's hidden behind this door..." As soon as Lin Yi finished speaking, he started working on the mysterious giant door with the ferocity of a tiger.
First, Long Wu swung his bling-bling diamond-encrusted axe—this thing was less of a weapon and more of a symbol of status, like a nouveau riche wearing a big gold chain around his neck—and started hacking at the gate.
As a result, apart from sparks flying everywhere, not even a white mark was left, and the axe blade was instead bent.
Long Wu's face turned green. "Damn, what is this thing made of? It's harder than my dad's safe!"
Lin Yi also tried to use his incredible time-space power, first using "time stop" to freeze the door, and then using "space cutting" to cut the door open.
As a result, time seemed to lose its meaning at the door, and space was like a piece of chewable taffy that couldn't be cut.
The gate stood there, unmoved, mocking their overestimation of their abilities.
"This thing is weird!" Lin Yi stroked his chin, sensing that things were not simple.
At this moment, Chu Yao floated over, her slender fingers gently brushing over the tadpole-like wriggling runes on the door, her azure electronic eyes flashing.
“These runes…” Chu Yao’s voice carried a hint of hesitation, “seem to be an ancient seal that can only be broken by touching them in a specific order.”
"A specific order? How so?" Lin Yi perked up upon hearing this.
Chu Yao closed her eyes and began to analyze the arrangement and combination of runes, muttering to herself as if she were solving a super complicated math problem.
After a long while, she opened her eyes and pointed to several runes, saying, "Touch them in this order, one by one, without making the slightest mistake."
Lin Yi took a deep breath and, following Chu Yao's instructions, carefully touched the runes.
Each time a rune is touched, it emits a crisp sound and a dazzling light.
When the last rune was touched, the entire door shook and made a loud rumbling sound, as if a sleeping giant was awakening.
Then, the door opened.
Behind the door was a deep underground passage, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura.
"Whoosh! It's finally open!" Long Wu rubbed his hands together excitedly. "There must be something good inside!"
"Don't get too excited," Lin Yi glanced at him, "better safe than sorry."
The three of them carefully entered the passage.
At the end of the passage, a vast underground palace suddenly appeared before them.
The palace was magnificent and resplendent, yet it exuded an eerie atmosphere.
"Wow, this is incredibly extravagant!" Long Wu's eyes widened. "How much is this worth?!"
"Don't get distracted!" Lin Yi grabbed him. "This place is dangerous at every turn!"
As soon as he finished speaking, spikes suddenly popped out from the ground, startling Long Wu so much that he jumped up with a scream.
Lin Yi reacted quickly and pulled him back.
"Holy crap, that scared the hell out of me!" Long Wu patted his chest, still shaken.
Immediately afterwards, a dense barrage of poisoned arrows shot out from the wall.
Lin Yi sneered, "A mere trick!" He activated his spacetime manipulation skill, and time seemed to slow down. The poison arrow flew over as slowly as a snail, which he easily dodged.
"As expected of Brother Yi, awesome!" Long Wu gave a thumbs up.
Along the way, Lin Yi encountered all sorts of traps and mechanisms, but he easily overcame them all.
Long Wu was responsible for clearing out some of the smaller monsters. His "True Dragon Bloodline" played a huge role at this time, making him practically a human-shaped self-propelled turret.
In the center of the palace, they encountered a group of ghost knights riding skeletal warhorses and wielding sharp longswords, charging menacingly towards them.
"Good timing!" Lin Yi
"That's it?" Lin Yi clapped his hands, looking relaxed.
Just when they thought they could breathe a sigh of relief, a huge figure slowly appeared from the depths of the palace.
The figure radiated golden light, wielding a massive battle axe. A powerful pressure emanated from it, making it difficult to breathe.
Lin Yi's expression changed, and he thought to himself, "This is bad..."
"What...what is this thing?" Long Wu's voice trembled slightly.
The guardian slowly raised the battle axe in his hand.
"It seems the real challenge is just beginning..." Lin Yi murmured.
The guardian moved, wielding its giant axe that seemed capable of splitting the heavens and earth, and with a whooshing sound as it tore through the air, it slashed fiercely down at Lin Yi!
If that axe blow had landed squarely, Lin Yi would probably have been turned into mincemeat on the spot!
Good heavens, this aura, this sense of oppression, is even more terrifying than when my mom chased me with a feather duster back in the day!
Lin Yi dared not be careless and used "space-time teleportation" to flash to the side.
With a loud "boom," a huge crater was smashed into the ground, and debris flew everywhere.
Even with Lin Yi's lightning-fast reflexes, his left arm was still grazed by the axe wind, burning with pain and bleeding.
"Hiss... This thing really went all out!" Lin Yi gasped, touching his wound. Luckily, it was just a superficial injury and nothing serious.
"Lin Yi, are you alright?" Chu Yao's voice was full of worry. This AI assistant is quite caring.
"It's nothing, a piece of cake!" Lin Yi waved his hand, trying to appear calm, but inwardly he was cursing. This guardian was much stronger than he had imagined!
Just then, the strange runes on the walls surrounding the palace began to flicker, emitting a faint blue light, and the entire palace was filled with a suffocating sense of oppression.
Lin Yi's heart sank, and an ominous premonition welled up in his mind.
"Oh no, something's going to go wrong here..." he whispered.
"Long Wu, protect Chu Yao!" Lin Yi shouted, gripping the Time-Space Blade tightly, ready for battle.
Long Wu also realized that something was wrong, so he quickly stood in front of Chu Yao and stared nervously at the flashing runes around them.
Suddenly, the runes shone brightly, and the entire palace began to shake violently, as if something was about to burst forth from the ground...
"They've arrived!" Lin Yi said in a deep voice, his eyes blazing as he stared intently into the depths of the palace.
