Chapter 22 Mysterious Coordinates, A New Journey

“Coordinates…this thing is just like a treasure hunt quest in an online game,” Lin Yi stared at the eerie blue dot, his fingers unconsciously rubbing together, his eyes gleaming with excitement. “Mom and Dad, wait for me, I’m coming to dig up your graves…oops, I mean, to find you!”

These coordinates were like a magnet, firmly attracting Lin Yi's mind. It was a deep-seated longing that made him wish he could sprout wings and fly there immediately.

He knew that behind these coordinates might lie the truth about his parents' disappearance many years ago.

"Brother Yi, where are you going to have fun? Take me with you!" Long Wu's voice rang out at the right time. This guy was like a tapeworm in Lin Yi's stomach, always able to accurately track his movements.

“Going to a potentially dangerous place,” Lin Yi glanced at him. “Are you sure you want to come along? I don’t have time to be your babysitter.”

"What are you afraid of! Brother Yi, you're a legendary professional. If I follow you, I'll live a life of luxury and win without lifting a finger!" Long Wu patted his chest, his face full of flattery, his expression just like a big golden retriever wagging its tail.

To be honest, Lin Yi quite admired Long Wu's carefree attitude; he was also quite reliable in crucial moments.

Besides, having a helper is always better than going it alone, so he nodded: "Okay, keep up, don't hold me back."

Chu Yao's voice rang out at the right moment, her tone tinged with worry: "Master, according to my analysis, the energy fluctuations at this location are very unstable, and there may be unknown dangers. Please be careful."

"Don't worry, Xiao Yao, I know what I'm doing." Lin Yi said, and then walked in the direction indicated by the coordinates.

Following the coordinates, they arrived at a gloomy forest.

As soon as you step into the forest, a putrid smell hits you. Towering ancient trees block out the sun, making it difficult for sunlight to penetrate, and a suffocating sense of oppression permeates the surroundings.

"Awooo—"

Suddenly, several deafening wolf howls shattered the silence of the forest. Immediately afterward, a pack of enormous demonic wolves burst out of the dense woods, their eyes gleaming with an eerie green light, their sharp teeth appearing particularly ferocious in the dim light.

"Holy crap, this thing is a demon wolf? It's huge!" Long Wu was so frightened that his face changed color. This demon wolf was several times larger than an ordinary wolf, and it looked like a small calf.

"Don't panic," Lin Yi calmly raised his hand, "Time-Space Imprisonment!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a visible energy wave spread out from Lin Yi, instantly freezing the charging wolves in place. They remained in their lunging posture, like statues.

"A mere trick, yet you dare to show off your skills before an expert!" Lin Yi's lips curled up slightly, revealing a disdainful smile.

"Space-Time Slash!"

With a low shout from Lin Yi, streams of sharp spatial and temporal power transformed into razor-sharp blades, instantly slicing the imprisoned demonic wolves into pieces, splattering blood and creating a gruesome scene.

"Wow! Brother Yi is awesome!" Long Wu was dumbfounded. This was simply an instant kill!

As we ventured deeper into the forest, the surrounding trees grew taller and the air became increasingly damp and chilly.

Suddenly, the ground shook violently, and a colossal creature slowly rose from the ground—it was a giant treant boss!

This tree-man boss is ten meters tall, its entire body composed of thick tree trunks and vines, exuding an ancient and powerful aura.

It swung its huge branches and smashed them down on Lin Yi and Long Wu, creating deep craters in the ground.

"Holy crap, this thing is huge! It's taller than any basketball player I've ever seen!" Long Wu exclaimed.

"Time-space teleportation!" Lin Yi's figure vanished from his original spot in an instant, and the next second, he appeared behind the Treant boss.

A series of sharp spatial and temporal forces erupted once more, slashing fiercely at the Treant boss, instantly creating deep, bone-revealing wounds on its massive trunk.

The treant boss let out a deafening roar and frantically swung its branches, attempting to attack Lin Yi. However, Lin Yi easily dodged its attacks using his teleportation skill and continued to inflict damage on it.

Just as the battle reached a stalemate, a figure appeared out of thin air—it was Xuan Mingzi.

“Little one, this forest hides many secrets, and the coordinates in your hand lead to a place fraught with danger, but also full of opportunities,” Xuan Mingzi said meaningfully, looking at Lin Yi.

"Senior, what do you know?" Lin Yi asked.

“I know far more than you can imagine,” Xuanmingzi smiled mysteriously. “As for this treant boss, its weakness lies in its core. You need to find its core to defeat it completely.”

"The core?" Lin Yi nodded thoughtfully, then used teleportation again to appear in front of the treant boss...

"Kid, it's up to you now," Xuan Mingzi said, his figure gradually disappearing into thin air. "Remember, opportunity and danger go hand in hand..."

Amidst the howling wind, Lin Yi and Long Wu stood beside the remains of the Tree Boss, the lingering smell of burnt wood from the battle still filling their nostrils.

After a fierce struggle, the earth seemed to resonate with a comforting tranquility with each of their footsteps.

But not far away, a faint light flickered.

They walked step by step into the depths of the forest, where the surrounding trees seemed to be guarding some ancient secret. The deeper they went, the stronger the sense of oppression became.

Amidst the dense foliage, a mysterious light emanates a chilling aura.

Long Wu swallowed hard, his eyes fixed on the front.

Finally, they stood before a grand door, which seemed to be made of some unknown material, or even more like a living thing.

As the texture flowed, it emitted an eerie light, a light that danced gently like faint starlight in the night sky.

A low, humming sound could be faintly heard coming from the tightly closed door, as if it were swallowing the breath of the forest.

This door seems to be quietly telling a story that no one knows, hiding a secret that generations have longed to uncover.

Lin Yi touched the edge of the door and immediately felt a chill spread from his fingertips to his whole body, as if an unnamed thought was surging inside the door.

It felt like a nightmare, yet he had never longed to be near it so much.

He didn't need to say anything; Long Wu immediately understood his intention.

Then, a soft inhale broke the silence, followed by Lin Yi's deep announcement: "Alright, let's go, let's see what's hidden behind this door..."
