The family of five sat around the table eating. The child was eating with great relish, and watching them eat made me want to eat a few more bites myself.
By this time next year, the two younger children will be able to eat some complementary foods, and the family of seven will be able to fill a whole table.
"Mom, let's rest a bit more, then let's go to the farm for a day."
"What do you want to do?"
"I'm going to catch fish and collect eggs."
Chuyue eagerly answered, saying she liked playing on the estate because it was spacious and had many things to do.
"Master Zhao taught us a new set of staff techniques, and we want to go to the training ground on the estate for a good fight."
As Shao Yun spoke, he ladled out another bowl of rice for himself.
He had a lot of exercise and a large appetite that day. Most families couldn't afford to feed him.
"Okay, let's go together after you've rested."
Mu Yi'an also wanted to go and check out the melon patch on the estate, wondering what the soil was like and whether it was suitable for growing watermelons.
There's also astragalus, which has already been planted, but I haven't gone to check on it yet.
Fruit trees also need pruning and grafting considerations.
Mu Yi'an thought to herself that one day wasn't enough time, otherwise she would stay at the estate for a few more days.
"I have some things to take care of at the estate, so I may need to stay for a few days."
"Shao Ming, Shao Yun, are you planning to get up a little earlier each day and take the carriage to school, or will you stay at home? I'll have Aunt Li and the others stay to cook for you."
"I'm going to the estate, what about you, brother?"
Shao Yun was willing to stay at the estate and get up a little earlier each day. He was going to get up early to practice martial arts anyway, so a little extra time wouldn't make a difference.
“I also want to live in the village. Every morning, my mind is especially clear, and the chirping of birds makes me feel even better.”
Jiang Shuyun is his favorite; he can walk to the academy, it's very close.
"Then it's settled. We'll go over while you're resting."
The workers have just arrived; let them get used to the environment.
After dinner, the family took a walk in the yard to help them digest their food.
Although Shao Yun was eager to see the gentlemen immediately, he refrained from doing so, not wanting to disturb their rest.
"I hope tomorrow comes soon," was what Shao Yun muttered to herself before going to sleep.
