Chapter 151 Lost Memories

She walked over and opened the door. Standing outside was a young man wearing black-rimmed glasses and with chestnut-colored curly hair.

The man was dressed in a light gray casual outfit, and when he smiled, two shallow dimples appeared on his cheeks.

Gu Baiwei was surprised that Dr. Chen was such a young and sunny man. She thought he would be an old-fashioned man over forty years old, since most of the experts in her mind were like that.

She couldn't help but glance at his striking curly hair again. Hmm, the color was quite similar to the teddy bear she used to own.

The moment the thought crossed her mind, she froze on the spot. When had she ever owned a teddy bear?

Just as I was about to think things through, my head started throbbing again, like it was being pricked by needles.

She covered her head, her breathing gradually becoming heavier.

"Miss Gu, is your head hurting again?"

Noticing her unusual behavior, Dr. Chen disregarded everything else, stepped forward, took her arm, and helped her sit directly on the bed in the bedroom.

"Miss Gu, now try taking a deep breath. Yes, just like that, breathe in deeply and exhale forcefully. Don't think about anything, don't do anything, clear your mind..."

As Dr. Chen spoke with a seductive tone, Gu Baiwei involuntarily followed his instructions to inhale and exhale forcefully. Soon, the chaotic thoughts in her mind disappeared, like the once turbulent sea suddenly calming down.

Seeing that she had calmed down, Dr. Chen spoke again: "Ms. Gu, how are you feeling now? Does your head still hurt?"

Gu Baiwei immediately shook her head. As long as she didn't think about those messy things, her head wouldn't hurt at all.

Seeing that she was alright, Dr. Chen finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ms. Gu, if there are no problems, let's begin today's treatment."

Hearing him say that, Gu Baiwei felt a little curious, since she had no recollection of the previous treatment process.

What should I do?

She couldn't help but ask.

Dr. Chen's smile faded, and he took out a gold-plated pocket watch from his pocket, holding it by the chain and letting the watch face hang in front of Gu Baiwei.

"Miss Gu, please keep an eye on this watch?"

Gu Baiwei was puzzled: "Weren't you supposed to be treating my headaches and amnesia? What are you doing?"

"It seems Miss Gu has indeed forgotten everything. Your headaches and amnesia are caused by psychological trauma, so every time I come to treat you, it's psychological counseling. During this process, I will use hypnosis to help you recall some things..."

Dr. Chen explained it to her very patiently.

Gu Baiwei nodded, but she was also a little curious. She had only seen hypnosis on TV before. Was it really that magical?

"Ms. Gu, do you have any other questions? If not, shall we continue?"

Dr. Chen seemed to have a very good temper, and he patiently answered all her questions before asking her own inquiries.

When he was working, his expression was serious, and he really did have the air of a hospital expert.

Gu Baiwei nodded and stared at the gold-plated pocket watch in agreement.

As the clock face continued to swing, she felt her eyelids getting heavier and heavier, and soon her upper and lower eyelids stuck together, and her consciousness sank completely into darkness.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she opened her eyes and found herself sitting in a spacious and bright living room, with a tall and handsome young man sitting opposite her.

The man's features were obscured by a white mist, but the hands holding the chopsticks were long, slender, and strong with distinct knuckles.

"Weiwei, why aren't you eating? Is the food not to your liking?"

The familiar voice made Gu Baiwei freeze for a moment. She looked up in surprise and saw that the white mist on the man's face had disappeared at some point, revealing a fox-like eye full of concern. It was Shen Xiangsong.

"Why do you look so pale? Are you feeling unwell?"

Shen Xiangsong looked at her with concern and a tense expression.

"Dad, I'm fine, I'm just a little hungry, go ahead and eat."

Upon hearing herself say this, she immediately picked up her chopsticks and began picking up food, occasionally adding a few dishes for Shen Xiangsong.

Even though Gu Baiwei was watching this scene unfold from her own perspective, she still felt a sense of unreality.

No, that shouldn't be the case.

She muttered to herself, but as she spent more and more time with Shen Xiangsong, her heart began to waver.

Perhaps Shen Xiangsong really was her adoptive father, and she had indeed forgotten him because of amnesia?

But... she felt something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

It feels like something is missing from my life, or perhaps someone is missing.

A sharp, needle-like pain shot through her head, and Gu Baiwei groaned in pain, waking up from her sleep.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Dr. Chen's handsome face magnified in front of me.

Behind the black-rimmed glasses, his eyes, with their prominent double eyelids, stared at her nervously.

His eyes are beautifully shaped, and when he looks at people, he always gives off a very focused feeling.

But Gu Baiwei inexplicably felt that she must have seen eyes that were even more beautiful than these, but where had she seen them? She couldn't remember where, and her head started to ache again, so she simply gave up thinking about it.

Once the pain in her head subsided, Gu Baiwei looked up at Dr. Chen and spoke first: "Dr. Chen, what exactly happened to me?"

"Don't worry, Miss Gu, there's nothing serious. Your memory will be restored soon."

He stood up, and two shallow dimples appeared on his cheeks again, making him look sunny and handsome.

He was the type Gu Baiwei used to like, but now, for some reason, she felt nothing when facing his handsome face.

Could it be that her preferences changed during the time she lost her memory?

Thinking this, I heard Dr. Chen's gentle voice in my ear: "Take good care of yourself. I'll come see you again around this time next week."

He smiled at her, then got up, packed his things, said goodbye, and left without saying a word.

The room fell silent again, and Gu Baiwei unconsciously began to recall the scenes she had seen during hypnosis.

Subconsciously, she felt that the person with the blurred face at the beginning was not Shen Xiangsong, because that person did not seem to be wearing a wedding ring on his finger, while Shen Xiangsong was wearing one.

But after the face behind him turned into Chen Xiangsong's, she glanced at his hand again, and saw that he was wearing a wedding ring.

Why is that? And the man's hands were clearly much younger than Shen Xiangsong's at the beginning.

She frowned, carefully recalling the scenes she had seen during hypnosis, but she didn't know when it started, the blurry-faced men in those scenes had all turned into Shen Xiangsong.

The more she thought about it, the more something seemed wrong, and as she continued to think about it, her head started to ache again.

She braced herself against the bed with her hands, slowly exhaling and inhaling. Soon, her mood calmed down again, and her throbbing head didn't hurt so much anymore.

Just as I breathed a sigh of relief, there was a knock on the door.

"The door wasn't closed."

She rubbed her temples and spoke, and Xiaoyu immediately rushed in and said, "Miss, a Mr. Ye is looking for Mr. Chen, but Mr. Chen is not here right now. Could you please give Mr. Chen a call?"
