Chapter Thirty-One: Reunion with Ye Yunting

He finished speaking quickly, then looked at Ye Chuyue with a nervous expression, his earlobes turning slightly red.

Recently, Ye Chuyue dyed her hair black again and changed her outlandish clothes into proper school uniforms, revealing her bright and beautiful features. This made many boys in the class swoon, and Lin Shuo happened to be one of them.

Ye Chuyue's eyes lit up, and she excitedly grabbed Lin Shuo's arm: "That's great, thank you Lin classmate."

With a top student tutoring her, she will definitely be able to catch up with the course progress as soon as possible.

Lin Shuo's cheeks flushed even redder, and he stammered, "No... no need to be so polite."

Li Nanxing's gaze fell on the hand Ye Chuyue was holding Lin Shuo's, and he clenched his fist: "Sister Yue, if you want someone to help you with tutoring, I can do that too."

Upon hearing this, Ye Chuyue chuckled: "Nanxing, I know you mean well, but you should at least have some self-awareness. We're ranked last and second to last respectively, what can you teach me?"

Li Nanxing pursed her lips and looked at Lin Shuo with a cold smile: "Since the top student is going to teach, why not add me to the class?"

Lin Shuo instinctively wanted to refuse; he only wanted to teach Ye Chuyue and didn't want to waste his precious time teaching others.

"We're all classmates, so there shouldn't be any problem, right, Lin?"

Ye Chuyue was completely unaware of the undercurrents between the two and looked at Lin Shuo with anticipation.

Meeting those bright, lively eyes, Lin Shuo's heart skipped a beat, and he awkwardly looked away: "Of course, no problem."

Ye Chuyue smiled and said, "It's a deal then. We'll come to my house for tutoring every Saturday from now on."

Upon learning that Ye Chuyue was bringing her classmates home on Saturday, Gu Baiwei immediately became anxious.

When Ye Ssu-nien was in school, he was used to being alone and never brought anyone home. This was the first time that one of his children's classmates had come to visit.

She frowned and pondered, thinking about how to leave a good impression on Yueyue's classmate. So she asked Aunt Liu, "Aunt Liu, do you think I should cook for Yueyue myself to show my welcome?"

When Liu Ma remembered how Gu Baiwei almost blew up the kitchen while making a potato pancake, she felt a pang of heartache.

She was racking her brains trying to find a reason to make Gu Baiwei give up this terrible idea when Gu Baiwei, who was looking down at her phone, suddenly looked at her with her eyes shining.

He showed her his phone screen: "Aunt Liu, look, a three-day crash course in cooking, perfect for me."

Before Liu Ma could react, he hummed a little tune and went to register with a cheerful expression.

Liu Ma silently lit a candle for the teacher she had never met.

The next morning, when Ye Sinian got up, he was surprised to find that Gu Baiwei, who always slept in, was already sitting at the table eating breakfast.

Seeing him come down, Gu Baiwei greeted him warmly: "Niannian, when you go out later, give me a ride."

"Cough... Is there something you need?"

Ye Sinian's forehead veins throbbed as he recalled how she had dragged him to breakfast with Xia Shihhan last time.

"I signed up for a crash course in cooking, and I'm going to class in a bit."

Just as Ye Sinian was about to breathe a sigh of relief upon hearing this, he suddenly realized what she had said, and his expression instantly became extremely complicated.

If I remember correctly, this person has never had any talent for cooking.

He remembered that when he was in elementary school, Gu Baiwei became obsessed with baking for a while. She signed up for a baking class and went to learn every day. However, after only two days, she angered her teacher so much that he had a heart attack and was hospitalized.

Thinking about this, he couldn't help but feel worried for the teacher this time.

For convenience, Gu Baiwei specially changed into sportswear to go to study.

She went to class with great enthusiasm, but as soon as she arrived, she ran into Ye Yunting, who had been waiting there for a long time.

Gu Baiwei's good mood vanished instantly.

She pretended not to see him and was about to walk inside when Ye Yunting stopped her.

"Weiwei, you really don't recognize me?"

Gu Baiwei didn't even look up: "I don't know him. Please move aside, I have to go to class."

Ye Yunting, however, was unwilling to give up and tried to strike up a conversation by asking, "What are you here to learn? Yoga, tea ceremony, or dance?"

Gu Baiwei stopped in her tracks.

In her previous life, Ye Yunting was always taciturn when facing her. She thought that was just his personality, but she never expected that he actually had a talkative side.

She closed her eyes briefly and said in a cold voice, "Excuse me, please move aside."

Ye Yunting noticed the impatience on her face, pursed his lips, and stepped aside.

Gu Baiwei didn't even glance at him, and walked past him into the building.

Watching her retreating figure, Ye Yunting felt as if his heart had been hollowed out, a truly painful feeling.

In her previous life, she was incredibly considerate to him, but he didn't cherish it. Now he regrets it, but she will never worry about him or feel sad for him again.

Gu Baiwei composed herself, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.

A middle-aged woman in a suit skirt smiled and opened the door to welcome her in.

There were already quite a few people in the room, mostly middle-aged women. Apart from Gu Baiwei, there were only one or two young people.

Soon, class began.

The middle-aged woman who had just spoken stood on the platform and gave them a brief explanation. Then she asked each of the students to try stir-frying the most basic shredded potatoes so that she could develop a teaching plan based on their skill level.

In an instant, all the students in the classroom got busy.

Gu Baiwei grabbed the potato, gritted her teeth, and swiftly and decisively chopped it down. Then she watched helplessly as the chopped-off half of the potato disappeared with a whoosh.

Immediately afterward, a short scream came from behind. Gu Baiwei turned around and saw the middle-aged female teacher, dressed in a suit skirt and with an elegant posture, with a thick slice of potato stuck to the center of her forehead.

As she looked over, a potato chip fell off the female teacher's forehead with a thud, landed on the ground, rolled twice, and lay flat on the floor.

The atmosphere fell silent for a moment. Gu Baiwei smiled a little embarrassedly, "I'm sorry, teacher, I used a bit too much force just now. I'll be careful."

The middle-aged female teacher's lips twitched slightly: "It's alright, just be careful."

After saying that, he continued walking forward to check on the other trainees, but his pace became noticeably more hurried.

After much effort, Gu Baiwei finally finished cutting a plate of potato shreds of varying thicknesses, which were more like potato strips.

After she finished cutting, she looked up and realized that others had already started cooking.

She hurriedly heated the oil in the wok, but before the water in the wok had completely evaporated, she poured in too much oil, causing oil splattering everywhere.

Gu Baiwei was startled and screamed as she tried to dodge, but she accidentally stepped on something, slipped, and fell backward.

Just as the back of her head was about to make intimate contact with the steaming plate of shredded potatoes behind her, a large, strong hand wrapped around her waist and pulled her into an embrace.

"Thanks……"

Gu Baiwei hurriedly thanked him, but when she looked up, she met Ye Yunting's handsome face, which was filled with worry.

The words that were about to be spoken were instantly swallowed back down.

Ye Yunting asked anxiously, "Weiwei, are you alright?"

She pushed the person away with a cold expression: "What are you doing here?"
