Chapter Two: Sibling Quarrel

Is this a person or a ghost? It looks exactly like the lady when she was young.

She had lived in this family since Ye Sinian was born, so of course she recognized Gu Baiwei.

"She's my distant aunt, and she's staying for two days."

Ye Sinian said this expressionlessly, then turned and went upstairs.

Gu Baiwei didn't expect Ye Sinian to help her out of that predicament, so she immediately decided to cook for herself and show off her skills!

Inside the study, Ye Sinian stared blankly at the documents, not turning them over for a long time.

Not long after, he heard a series of clattering and banging noises coming from downstairs. He frowned slightly and immediately got up and went downstairs.

kitchen.

Gu Baiwei was busy cooking, and Liu Ma, who was helping her, was so frightened by the fact that she almost cut her fingers several times that she broke out in a cold sweat.

"Miss Gu, how about I do it? Look, how can you let a guest cook?"

Aunt Liu was at a loss; with her vegetable-cutting skills, she shouldn't be cooking.

Gu Baiwei didn't even look up, continuing her struggle with the potato in her hand, "No need, no need, I can manage."

Ye Sinian stood outside the door, frowning slightly with a look of disgust.

“Young Master,” Aunt Liu stammered, “Miss Gu wouldn’t listen and insisted on doing it… I couldn’t stop her.”

Gu Baiwei immediately smiled gently, "Niannian, wait a moment, the food will be ready soon."

When the word "year after year" was uttered, Aunt Liu panicked instantly, but it was too late to stop it.

I silently recited Amitabha Buddha's name in my heart.

Ye Sinian's most hated nickname over the years has been "Nian Nian" (meaning "year after year"). Miss Lin used it before and was immediately kicked out.

But now, Ye Sinian just looked a little annoyed, turned around and sat down on the sofa.

Aunt Liu was shocked.

But then I thought, maybe it's because we're related by blood?

But Miss Gu and Madam look so alike, they're practically identical.

Suddenly, there was a loud "bang".

Startled, Gu Baiwei jumped up and down. She grabbed a kitchen knife and went outside, determined to see who was being so rude.

result--

A young girl with brightly colored dreadlocks, wearing ripped jeans and an oversized black T-shirt, slung her backpack over her shoulder and chewing gum as she swaggered in from outside.

Her small face still had a bit of baby fat, and her eyes looked just like her husband, Ye Yunting.

The atmosphere in the living room became tense the moment the girl appeared.

Ye Sinian looked up at the girl, his brows furrowed, his voice deep and authoritative: "Why are you only coming back now? Where have you been gallivanting off to again?"

Ye Chuyue curled her lip in disdain and glanced at him sideways: "You're not my parents, what right do you have to tell me what to do?"

Upon hearing this, Ye Sinian stood up from the sofa with a dark expression: "Try saying that again?"

Ye Chuyue spat her chewing gum on the ground, her neck stiff as she yelled, "I can do whatever I want! It's none of your business!"

A loud slap echoed throughout the living room. Ye Chuyue covered her reddened left cheek and stared at Ye Sinian in disbelief: "Why did you hit me?"

"Because I'm your own brother!"

Ye Sinian's right hand trembled slightly as he looked down at Ye Chuyue, speaking each word clearly: "From now on, if you dare to associate with those shady characters again, I'll break your legs!"

Ye Chuyue's eyes instantly reddened, and she glared angrily at Ye Sinian, shouting, "Fine, hit me! You'd better kill me right now! You only care about work anyway, and you've never cared about me!"

After saying that, she turned and ran into her room, slamming the door shut with a bang.

Ye Sinian stared at her departing figure, his handsome face as gloomy as the sky before a storm, extremely somber.

He gripped his phone tightly, his knuckles turning slightly white from the force.

Suddenly, a fierce glint flashed in his eyes, and he slammed the phone he was holding onto the ground. With a dull thud, the phone crashed to the ground, and the screen shattered instantly.

As if he wasn't satisfied, he swept everything on the table onto the floor, creating a series of crashing sounds. The expensive carpeted floor instantly became a mess.

This sudden action startled Gu Baiwei, and her first reaction was to rush out, but she was stopped by Liu Ma.

Aunt Liu silently shook her head at her, indicating that she couldn't go over now.

Gu Baiwei felt somewhat helpless. Ye Chuyue used to love sticking to Ye Sinian when they were little, so how did the relationship between the two siblings become like this?

She glanced at the closed door upstairs, then helplessly shifted her gaze to the living room.

The sounds of things being smashed in the living room had gradually stopped. Gu Baiwei looked over with some concern and saw Ye Sinian standing amidst the chaos, panting heavily. His right hand looked like it had been cut, with drops of bright red blood dripping from his trembling palm onto the carpet, forming a small, bloody stain.

Gu Baiwei's heart tightened, and she immediately disregarded everything else and ran quickly to the living room.

She stood beside Ye Sinian, slightly out of breath, and gently tried to touch the wound on the back of his hand, but was afraid of hurting him. For a moment, she didn't know what to do.

Ye Sinian lifted his eyelids to glance at her, and said expressionlessly, "Aunt Liu, tidy up this place."

"Niannian, your hand..."

Gu Baiwei couldn't help but ask, but Ye Sinian only glanced at the back of his injured hand and said in a voice devoid of any emotion, "He won't die."

Meeting his indifferent gaze, Gu Baiwei pursed her lips and after a long while asked him in a soft voice, "Niannian, I made your favorite potato pancakes when you were little. Shall I go and get them for you?"

Ye Sinian turned his head away and replied with only one stiff word: "Okay."

The steaming hot food was quickly served on the table, and among the plates of exquisite dishes that looked and smelled delicious, there was a plate of potato pancakes that didn't look very appealing.

Gu Baiwei looked at the closed door upstairs with some concern and tentatively asked, "Should we call Yueyue down to come with us?"

Ye Sinian picked up his chopsticks and took some food without looking up: "Aunt Liu, take this up to Miss."

An eerie silence fell over the restaurant once again. Gu Baiwei, unable to bear the quiet, broke the silence by asking, "Is it good?"

Ye Sinian slowly picked up a potato pancake, took a small bite, and coldly uttered two words: "Disgusting."

He said that, but his hands didn't stop moving.

He ate with great elegance, and even the unappealing potato pancakes tasted like a delicacy to him.

Gu Baiwei couldn't resist picking up a piece as well. Just as she put it to her lips, a sound of porcelain shattering suddenly came from upstairs.
