Both parties hit it off immediately and readily signed a contract in less than a day, for a year.
After a year, we all got to know each other and became familiar with each other. We were no longer so formal with each other, even though we didn't see each other very often.
Dong Ya is two years older than Jiang Yimei and Yao Yao.
At this age, people are worried about getting married; even if the family is cheerful and understanding, they will still bring it up intentionally or unintentionally. Moreover, Dong Ya's family is a traditional family that attaches great importance to marriage, so the pressure is even more intense.
Dong Ya is one of those pitiful people who were forced by their families to not dare to go back home for the Chinese New Year.
She was terrified of being pressured by her family to go on blind dates every day, and of being constantly nagged and brainwashed by her aunts and uncles.
She spent the New Year holidays alone in the deserted Chuyun City a few months ago. No matter how much her parents urged or scolded her, she wouldn't go back.
Logically speaking, with her looks, it would be easy for her to find a wealthy man; but for some reason, she just doesn't want to get married. Perhaps she has someone else in her heart, or she has dreams of poetry and distant places, or perhaps she wants to climb to a higher position.
…
"Why are you so late today?" Dong Ya asked.
Jiang Yimei didn't hide anything and answered truthfully, "I was kept behind to work overtime by a nasty boss."
Dong Ya responded with empathy, seemingly offering comfort: "It's peak trade season now, and our company sometimes has to work overtime too."
She wasn't working overtime because of this, but Jiang Yimei kept this unpleasant matter to herself, not wanting to bother outsiders, and gave a perfunctory reply: "Yeah! I have to be busy again."
Hang in there, life isn't easy.
After finishing her concise remarks, Dong Ya walked away as if nothing had happened and went back to her room.
The conversation was uneventful and perfunctory, just as Jiang Yimei had expected; after all, they weren't very familiar with each other, and apart from seeing each other a few times after get off work, they generally didn't have much interaction.
After changing her shoes and putting down her bag, she went to the sofa, sat down next to Yao Yao, and began to eat.
At this moment, Yao Yao, like a curious little imp, sneaked over, blinked her mischievous big eyes, and whispered, "Yi Yi, did Lin Congzhi make things difficult for you?"
"What do you think? I don't know what deep-seated hatred I have for him that he insists on torturing me in every possible way."
Jiang Yimei was so angry about this that she couldn't eat, and she wished she could tear that despicable Lin Congzhi to pieces.
"How did he torture you?" Yao Yao asked, resting her chin on her hand, full of curiosity.
Jiang Yimei blurted out without any attempt to hide her feelings: "One minute they let me leave, the next they won't; one minute they let me sit, the next they won't; one minute they say it's no problem, then they say there is a problem."
Just as she had guessed, Yao Yao said excitedly, "I told you, scheming men are very possessive. Now that you have a boyfriend, of course he won't let you go."
Jiang Yimei strongly resented this unreasonable and domineering logic, and argued: "But it's my freedom to choose whoever I want. Can't I, Jiang Yimei, like other men?"
Yao Yao's perfect answer: "Legally and morally, it's acceptable, but in that person's mind, it's simply not acceptable."
"It's not up to him to say no."
With a deep sense of disgust, Jiang Yimei threw down a sentence and then began to eat heartily.
Sensing Yi Yi's aura, which was so fierce it could roast someone like a pig, Yao Yao couldn't help but swallow hard. Not daring to dwell on the matter, she changed the subject, asking, "Hey! Yi Yi, you said on WeChat that you were in the wrong first and wrote a letter of apology. Did you hit Lin Congzhi? And how did you hit him?"
