"Who ordered this coffee?" she asked, her brow furrowing slightly, full of curiosity.
“A gentleman,” the waiter replied, then smiled respectfully and said, “Ms. Jiang, please have a seat. The gentleman will be here shortly.”
"oh!"
Without much hesitation, Jiang Yimei sat down, because she subconsciously assumed that Lin Congzhi had taken care of everything.
But this is a bit puzzling. When did Lin Congzhi become so enthusiastic? Wasn't he always like a thousand-year-old iceberg, unmoved by thunder? Even if the sky were to fall and the earth to crack, or the sea to dry up and the rocks to crumble, he would remain indifferent.
Thinking about these things is useless; Lin Congzhi has become unrecognizable and unfathomable anyway.
The table setting was elegant and artistic. Sitting there, gazing at the heart-shaped latte with its milky aroma wafting from it, Jiang Yimei felt awkward and tormented, unsure whether to drink it or not.
The heart-shaped pattern on the latte must have been specially requested by Lin Congzhi from the coffee shop staff. Placing it on her side was clearly a way of expressing her love.
If she drank it, she would fall right into Lin Congzhi's trap. Having already been hurt once, she absolutely wouldn't allow herself to make the same mistake again.
Feeling restless and fidgety, just as she was about to get up and move around, a tall, aloof, and sullen-faced man walked gracefully up behind her. Immediately, a grumbling and discontented murmur escaped from his thin, sensual lips: "You've taken so long to get here. I've been to the toilet several times already."
Upon hearing this, she was about to turn around and look when a tall, imposing figure in a suit and leather shoes suddenly appeared in front of her like an arrow; what immediately caught her eye were his exquisitely sculpted features, handsome face, thick hair, and the faintly visible muscle lines on his chest.
The man fastened one button, bent down and sat down in a very gentlemanly manner, then gazed at her with deep affection.
With sword-like eyebrows and phoenix eyes, he exuded heroic spirit and emanated a faint fragrance of the wilderness. He was incredibly handsome, extremely handsome.
For some reason, Jiang Yimei, who was quite calm just a moment ago, suddenly felt her pink heart startling uncontrollably, her fair cheeks flushed, and her uniquely feminine demeanor gradually emerged.
"How could this be? Why can't I bear his eyes, his face, everything about him?"
Her fair fingers gripped the floral dress tightly, the veins on her forehead were faintly visible, and her pearly teeth trembled.
She endured it with great effort, resisting the infatuation and love that shouldn't have arisen in her heart.
Witnessing this scene, Lin Congzhi happily revealed the cute tiger teeth hidden beneath his aloof exterior, his face beaming with countless doting smiles.
Upon inadvertently catching a glimpse of this expression, Jiang Yimei, who was already in a precarious situation, felt as if she had fallen into a sweet valley, instantly overwhelmed with sweetness and overflowing with affection.
That damned Lin Congzhi has this trick up his sleeve. She's finished now.
She subconsciously lowered her eyes, cutting off her gaze, and then forced herself to calm down, letting go of all the handsome expressions that belonged to Lin Congzhi.
It took her a long time to calm the sudden surge of affection that had caught her off guard.
He then looked up, his gaze wandering, and spoke to ease the overwhelmingly ambiguous atmosphere: "Manager Lin, didn't we agree..."
As always, Lin Congzhi was domineering. Before she could finish speaking, he pretended to be serious and explained, "I was feeling a little sleepy while I was reviewing the documents, so I came down to order a coffee and ordered yours too."
Jiang Yimei didn't believe that she had to come down to drink coffee just because she was sleepy; the company's break room could make any popular coffee on the market.
Lin Congzhi lied, clearly trying to cover something up.
