Chapter 5 I Want to Be Discharged from the Hospital: My Mother is Yu Xue's Savior

Chapter 5 I Want to Be Discharged from the Hospital: My Mother is Yu Xue's Savior

Wen Feng later checked the surveillance footage, and the doctor was right. After lying in bed for a while, Yu Xue suddenly stood up, took out the books Wen Feng had brought her, read them for a while, and then smashed them all on the ground, making quite a noise.

Several nurses came in to calm her down, but she hit her with a pillow and almost resorted to using a bandage.

Then she leaned against the bedside and didn't move, but her eyes were open; she wasn't asleep.

Around 7 p.m., she suddenly got up, took a book from the cabinet, and then Wen Feng pushed open the door.

When Wen Feng came in, he saw that she had read more than a hundred pages of her comic book; it turned out she was faking it.

No one knows why Yu Xue was angry. From the time the incident occurred until he entered the room, no one else had entered the ward.

Just like Yu Xue said, "I just did it because I wanted to."

It's also possible that she was having a dream while lying in bed.

That evening, when Wen Feng went back to say goodbye to her, he noticed that she seemed to have something to say, but hesitated to speak.

Wen Feng stared at her evasive eyes for a long time before asking, "Do you need help?"

“Uh…” Yu Xue was a little embarrassed to speak. In the end, she didn’t say it directly, but instead went around in circles, “If you are really busy and it’s inconvenient for you to stay with me at night, could you… call a caregiver?”

Wen Feng was taken aback, realizing he had made a mistake.

Yu Xue is a patient and needs someone to stay with her at night. His departure won't affect Yu Xue's sleep, but who will take care of her?

Yu Xue noticed his slight change in expression and sensed his nervousness, so she quickly smiled and said, "It's nothing serious, you're just a little scared being alone in an unfamiliar environment..."

She chuckled awkwardly and explained, "Uh... after transmigrating, I'm a little... a little... afraid of ghosts."

After all, if supernatural phenomena like time travel have already occurred, it's not surprising that ghosts exist in this world.

"Uh... I know." Wen Feng took his hand out of his pocket and scratched his neck. "The Yu Xue from before... was also afraid of ghosts, she's been afraid of them since she was little. When did you transmigrate here?"

Yu Xue looked up, pondered for a moment, and said, "About three or four years ago? She fell on the steps and hit her head, do you remember?"

Wen Feng remembered. He had fallen quite badly that time and stayed in the hospital for several days. Wen Feng had stayed with him at the hospital. "Yes, I remember."

Yu Xue: "That's when I came."

It all happened so suddenly. In this other world, she had loving parents, friends, and a bright future. Like Yu Xue in this world, she released her first album at the age of seventeen, which sold like hotcakes and made her an instant star. But later, she didn't participate in that program, didn't say those incoherent things, and didn't suffer from malicious editing. She smoothly released her second album, which again topped the charts.

Just as she was preparing to go on stage for her concert, she lost her balance and fell down the stairs, hitting her head. When she woke up, she found herself here.

After reading about Yu Xue's experiences in this world, she was completely stunned.

She didn't want to do anything; she just wanted to escape and return to her own world.

Yu Xue suddenly looked up at him and asked worriedly, "You don't mind that I took her body, do you?"

"No," Wen Feng hurriedly replied, afraid that Yu Xue would misunderstand. He wanted to explain, but he didn't know how.

He couldn't very well say, "I don't believe you're from another time. You are Yu Xue. You two even hold chopsticks the exact same way."

He stammered for a long time before finally saying, "You two's business has nothing to do with me."

Yu Xue lowered her eyes, looking somewhat forlorn, and gave an awkward "Oh."

That night, Wen Feng stayed to keep him company and slept in the same bed he had before.

He doesn't snore when he sleeps, but when he's half asleep, he can't help but toss and turn.

He lay flat on his back, wrapped himself in the blanket to minimize the possibility of moving around.

He was like a frozen wooden puppet, not daring to even sway his head from side to side.

He could hear breathing sounds coming from beside him, but he couldn't tell if she was asleep or awake.

Yu Xue was quite quiet whether she was asleep or awake, so Wen Feng couldn't tell.

She must have suffered from insomnia frequently and was afraid of being discovered, so her skill in pretending to be asleep must have been perfected.

Suddenly, he heard a rustling sound.

Yu Xue suddenly started to thrash around, rolling back and forth on the bed.

"What's wrong?" He heard a groan and quickly got up. "Where does it hurt?"

He was about to press the nurse call button when Yu Xue stopped him.

He squatted down and asked her again, "What's wrong?"

Yu Xue struggled to lift her eyelids and said, "My leg is cramping."

"Leg cramps..." Wen Feng didn't know how to handle this situation. He suddenly felt that he had made another wrong decision. If he stayed, it would have been better to let the caregiver stay.

"It's okay." Yu Xue loosened her grip on her lower lip and breathed a sigh of relief. "It's alright, the leg cramp will subside in a while."

When Yu Xue was feeling unwell, Wen Feng was at a loss and almost pulled the blanket off. Now, his hand is on the blanket and just happens to be on Yu Xue's waist. The two are very close and look at each other, both feeling a little awkward.

Yu Xue said, "I want to be discharged from the hospital."

That was so sudden.

Yu Xue always says things unexpectedly at unexpected times, leaving Wen Feng bewildered.

Yu Xue wasn't trying to make things difficult for him, nor was she deliberately trying to see him look lost. She gave her reason: "I can't stay in this house every day, I'll suffocate. I asked the doctor about it during my therapy session today."

Yu Xue: "The doctor said a family member's signature is required."

Yu Xue: "I'm not forcing you, I just want your help. I think I can control my behavior, and if you don't agree, I have other family members."

Her parents were just mean to her, they weren't dead.

If she calls her family and tells them that she's been locked up in a mental hospital, her parents will feel ashamed and will insist on coming over to sign the papers to get her out.

She didn't like it; she felt she was fully responsible for her own body and that she wasn't delirious.

"Uh..." To be honest, Wen Feng didn't want her to be discharged from the hospital.

The treatment at the hospital is mandatory. Once she gets home, Wen Feng may not be able to control her and make her take her medicine and receive treatment on time.

She doesn't think she's sick, and she definitely won't accept Wen Feng's control after she goes home. If Wen Feng really forces her, he will lose their current friendship. If he doesn't force her, he's afraid she'll commit suicide in her room.

Wen Feng said, "Once you feel better, you can go down to the lobby and play with the other patients."

Yu Xue: "I don't want to play with other patients. I want to go home. I want to go out."

Yu Xue: "It's my friend's birthday, and I want to go see her. I can't let the people in my studio think I'm mentally ill, and I can't let my friend know either."

He could tell that Yu Xue was already very unhappy, and if he continued, she might anger him.

He knew that Yu Xue was completely unable to control her emotions right now.

He hurriedly said, "I won't let them know. But if I'm discharged now, my family will worry... Can I stay for another month? Otherwise, my mother will worry."

Yu Xue's anger subsided a little. She turned over and said, "Okay."

Wen Feng breathed a sigh of relief. He knew that only his mother could calm Yu Xue down. Sometimes, Wen Feng would wonder if Yu Xue married him because she loved him or because she loved his mother.

Yu Xue knew she had a bad temper, but her body would calm down whenever Wen Feng's mother was mentioned.

She knew that the original owner of the body really liked Wen Feng's mother.

Yu Xue's mother's relative's friend, and Wen Feng's mother had worked together before, so they were considered friends.

One year, Wen Feng's mother celebrated her birthday and invited many people. By chance, Yu Xue's mother also came with her relatives, saying that she wanted to broaden her horizons.

Several children were playing outside. Wen Feng and Yu Xue got along well, and since the two children were chatting, their parents also chatted for a bit, and they eventually became friends.

After her parents divorced, Yu Xue lived with her father. When her father had to leave for a while, he left Yu Xue with her mother. Her mother didn't want to get up early to take her to school, so she made an excuse that she was busy and left the child with Wen Feng's mother.

Wen Feng was willing, and his parents agreed.

Because of this incident, Wen Feng's parents have always had a negative view of Yu Xue's parents. It's not a big deal that the parents divorced, but it caused the child to live under someone else's roof. If they had known they couldn't take on this responsibility, why did they give birth to the child so casually?

Wen Feng's parents were afraid that Yu Xue would feel like she was living under someone else's roof, so they did a lot for her.

One particular action completely drew Yu Xue into their family. For many years afterward, although she lived in her own home, her heart remained with the Wen family, and she wished she could change her surname to Wen right now and become Wen Feng's younger sister.

For a long time, Yu Xue was criticized by her classmates for being "pretentious" and "sick" because no one disciplined her and she was too lively and cheerful. More and more people said this, which went from whispering to spreading rumors and eventually to school bullying.

The rumors were so widespread that they had spread to other classes. Many students crowded around the door during breaks, trying to catch a glimpse of her. They laughed as soon as they saw her; she looked like a monkey with a red bottom in a zoo.

Because of her early puberty, some of her organs were more developed than those of her peers, leading to various insulting nicknames. These nicknames were so embarrassing to even mention that she willingly helped her abusers conceal the truth even after so many years, because she didn't want anyone to know that she had been called by such vile words.

One day, Wen Feng came to pick her up from school and overheard her. He asked her what she meant, and she lowered her head, her whole face burning up, looking like she had a fever.

That evening, Wen Feng told her mother about it, and her mother called the teacher. The next day, she went to the school herself to help Yu Xue deal with the matter.

She said she was Yu Xue's guardian and that she demanded the school and the perpetrators give her child an explanation. She also said she had already reported the incident to the police and would file a lawsuit as soon as possible.

The matter dragged on for a long time. Even though Yu Xue's parents objected and tried to brush it off as "children's games," Wen Feng's mother persisted. She was willing to pay all the costs of the lawsuit and even give Yu Xue's parents a sum of money to keep them out of the mess.

She knew that if she gave up now, Yu Xue would suffer even more severe bullying when she returned to school.

Yu Xue kissed her cheek to thank her, but besides her love, Yu Xue could give her nothing else.

Wen Feng's mother hugged her and said, "Auntie is not only doing this for you. Auntie was also bullied when she was a child. Auntie wants to save you, and also wants to save herself back then."

That day, Yu Xue inexplicably called out "Mom".

After returning home, Yu Xue was beaten, but from then on, throughout her entire third year of junior high, everyone avoided her.

Although it's still far from a normal junior high school experience, it's already much better.

If it weren't for Wen Feng's mother, she wouldn't have been able to get into a top high school. Later, when she took the art exam, it was Wen Feng's mother who lent her the money.

Yu Xue's mother is her savior.
