Chapter 27 I believe you can wear a condom.

Chapter 27 I believe you can wear a condom.

The puncture will be performed in the morning, and the surgery will be done three hours later.

Wen Feng didn't sleep a wink all night. In the morning, he stayed up with Yu Xue without eating breakfast. Outside the operating room, he paced back and forth, standing for a while, sitting for a while, walking for a while, and stopping for a while. He kept checking his watch; time seemed to pass very slowly, minute by minute.

He wanted to do something to kill time and make it pass faster, but he couldn't think of anything. He opened an e-book and read for a while, but he couldn't absorb a single word. When he looked up, his mind was full of Yu Xue.

Finally, the operating room door opened. As he got up, he knocked over the phone of the person next to him. He didn't bother to pick it up or even apologize, and went straight to the bedside.

Yu Xue lay on the bed, her face deathly pale. She turned her head to the side, trembling. Every time she opened her eyes, tears streamed down her face. Her vision was blurred, and she couldn't see anything clearly, so she simply closed her eyes and tried not to look at anything.

During the puncture, she felt her ribs being cut open, and even breathing was painful. She said it hurt so much and she couldn't breathe. The doctor connected her to the equipment and told her, "All the indicators are normal, there's nothing to worry about."

She heard those words, but still felt like she was dying. She tried to open her eyes, to take one last look at the world, but all she saw were the figures of a group of people walking back and forth.

She was pushed out, and when she opened her eyes again, she thought she could see the sky, but her vision was blurry, and she couldn't see clearly no matter how hard she tried.

She was in so much pain that she couldn't move or speak, so she could only keep her eyes closed and remain motionless.

Wen Feng looked at the nurse: "What's wrong with her?"

The nurse looked at him like he was an idiot. "Asleep."

Wen Feng: "Didn't he faint?"

Nurse: "Her test results are all normal, so the family can rest assured."

Wen Feng was still worried, so she asked the nurse to give her another check-up.

In a daze, Yu Xue felt herself stand up. She didn't know if she was alive or dead, asleep or awake. She was unconscious. In her hazy state, she saw a door, and behind that door was another door, one after another, facing each other, yet back to back.

She was trapped inside, not knowing where to go. She wasn't afraid at all, nor did she want to back down. She simply picked up her foot and walked forward, stepping over the door in front of her.

The moment she stepped across the threshold, the scene before her changed.

She saw the junior high school classroom, the junior high school playground, and the junior high school fence. She walked forward, passed through the next door, and came to a multi-functional classroom that could accommodate the entire grade. At twelve years old, she was thin and small, looking a head smaller than her peers, and was arranged to sit in the front row of the class.

The boy behind her secretly stuck a ruler out from between the seats and kept poking her—her back, her head, and her waist.

She turned to the class monitor who was standing there maintaining discipline and shouted, "Class monitor, he's harassing me!"

The class monitor was taken aback at first, then laughed and joked, "Sexual harassment?"

A burst of laughter erupted around her, and the boy behind her continued to poke her with the ruler, looking smug. She trembled with anger and tried to snatch the ruler from him.

The teacher walked over and shouted, "Yu Xue! If you say another word, you're out!"

Xiao Yu Xue muttered something under her breath, turned around, and helplessly continued to endure it.

Yu Xue, now an adult, stood behind, watching all of this unconsciously, her facial muscles almost numb, only her eyes were filled with tears.

She continued toward the next door.

She returned to the history class she had when she was twelve.

A note was passed through several layers of people and eventually reached her.

She opened it, and there were three words written on it that she recognized but didn't understand: Dagouzi (Big Ditch).

She casually crumpled the note into pieces and stuffed it into her desk drawer.

After class, she went to get water. Several girls from her class, along with girls from the next class, blocked the stairwell and shouted "Big Ditch!" at her.

Xiao Yuxue was puzzled. She turned around and saw the girl in front of her pat her on the butt. Xiao Yuxue instantly understood. She stood there stunned. She was bumped and her thermos fell to the ground and broke. For a moment, she didn't know whether to run away first or pick up the thermos.

She remembered that after that incident, she stopped wearing thermal underwear. When it was cold, she would try to wear only one piece of school uniform, making sure it was loose and didn't accentuate her figure. Later, she learned about something called a chest binder online and wore it almost every day during junior high school to try not to show any signs of development.

Twenty-four-year-old Yu Xue lifted her foot and continued walking forward.

This was her room when she was nine years old. She didn't have many friends and rarely went out to play. Fortunately, her father was never stingy with money for her. Apart from her allowance, her studies, food, and clothing were generally average, and she even had a few designer clothes. In elementary school, she already had her own computer. While her classmates were still learning how to use a keyboard, she had already mastered the basic functions of PowerPoint.

That computer was also the source of this violence.

She enjoys meeting netizens online, and through email messages, she meets some older brothers and sisters. Some of them are already working, and some are already in college. They always tell Yu Xue how wonderful college is.

One day, Yu Xue received a note that read, "If you receive this message in a bottle, please agree to be my girlfriend." The handwriting on the note was beautiful and was a font that only members could use.

She added the other person's contact information.

Yu Xue: Ah... but I'm only 9 years old! I see on your profile you're 21! Won't you look down on me? [sad][sad]

Qiu Yan: Of course not, how could I dislike you because of that?

Later, the two often chatted online. Yu Xue would tell him about any unhappy things she encountered, and he would comfort her while sending her more than ten yuan to buy potato chips.

Yu Xue especially liked this older brother who had a lot of money.

She asked the older brother: "Is your family very rich?"

Qiu Yan: Of course, my family has hundreds of millions.

Yu Xue: Really? If I marry you, will you buy me a cell phone?

Qiu Yan: Definitely, brother will not only buy you a phone, but also a lot of other things.

Yu Xue was bullied in class, and she told this all-powerful older brother about it. The older brother said that his family was very powerful, and that after he got married, he would retaliate tenfold if anyone hit his wife.

Yu Xue felt like the female protagonist in an online novel, floating on clouds. She wanted to learn from those novel heroines to be kind, humble, and understanding.

She would sing lullabies to her 21-year-old boyfriend, chat with him after he was forced to drink with his elders, and record dance videos for him.

Her boyfriend would compliment her on being cute.

The first time she heard the topic of sex was brought up by her 21-year-old boyfriend.

When she entered junior high school, she became lively and cheerful, and made many good friends.

She bragged to her best friends about her boyfriend, saying that he was extremely rich, that his family had hundreds of millions of dollars, that he treated her very well, and that he often sent her red envelopes (cash gifts). She also said that if anyone bullied her, her boyfriend would immediately beat that person to pieces.

24-year-old Yu Xue stood to the side, looking at the chat history on the computer, and almost vomited.

She looked at Xiao Yuxue, who was completely absorbed in "love" in the distance, and wanted to remind her, but she couldn't move. She could only stand there and watch her.

She had only been in the first year of junior high school for less than a month when her boyfriend broke up with her. Every time her boyfriend invited her to visit other provinces, her father would control her and resolutely prevent her from going.

She was vain and shy. She didn't dare tell her classmates that she had been dumped by her rich boyfriend. She could only smile and remain silent when other classmates mentioned it.

Before the semester was even over, the truth was revealed, and she became a universally condemned liar.

She tried to explain it to her best friends, but no one believed her.

Everyone distanced themselves from her, mocked her, said she was shameless, called her a bastard, and some even said she had psychological problems and was mentally ill.

Her past statements were passed around, as were her unspoken ones. The entire grade treated it as a joke, and even upperclassmen in the high school started discussing it.

The large-scale violence was triggered by a nine-year-old child's inability to distinguish between genuine and fake people.

Just as she was being dragged by the hair and blocked at the stairwell during the second semester of her first year of junior high, being stared at and questioned by everyone, she was still keeping her head down, thinking about the love that she had lost because of her weakness.

If she had been a little braver and taken that step, maybe she would be with her boyfriend now.

It wasn't until the second year of junior high that she finally realized that her love was truly over. In the third year of junior high, she finally realized that none of the things she heard when she was nine years old were true, except for the age. She didn't even know her boyfriend's name.

She truly didn't know whether the harm she had suffered over the past three years was caused by her boyfriend, her classmates, or herself.

After graduating from junior high, she never mentioned "Qiuyan" or those insulting words to anyone again. Just thinking about it made her feel ashamed. How could she have said such shameful things!

If she were to face the people who bullied her in court now, she felt she would definitely deny ever having ever said that "Qiuyan" was a person.

Even if it would make the chain of evidence incomplete, even if it would let the bullies get away, even if it would saddle her with the charge of disrupting the court proceedings, she didn't want to be subjected to more and worse bullying because of those foolish things she said in the past.

Because words are like sharp knives, in most cases, they are the ones who hurt the victims.

She knew it all too well.

She deserves it because she's the victim.

Her thoughts lingered for a long time before she finally stepped through the next door.

She went back to her physical education class when she was twelve. She held an atlas in her hands and walked back and forth between a few trees, reciting the contents of the atlas as she went.

She had no friends, which was the only thing she could do after gym class ended.

She couldn't memorize it; she was just putting on an immersive recitation performance.

Because she could clearly hear faint laughter and mocking voices coming from behind her.

She knew that if she turned around at this moment, she would definitely be met with many faces that were grinning menacingly.

She walked slowly forward with her back to them, pretending not to hear them, pretending to be engrossed in her recitation. She dared not turn her head, dared not meet their eyes, dared not hear their laughter. Every day, she was like imitating a blind person.

Twenty-four-year-old Yu Xue stood between several trees, her back to them, just like the twelve-year-old Yu Xue, not daring to turn her head to the side even a little bit.

She heard someone running towards her, seemingly trying to deliberately bump into her.

She casually shifted her body to the side.

But it was still hit, and the atlas fell to the ground.

She pretended not to notice, like a blind person bumping into a tree. Without hesitation, she mechanically picked up the atlas from the ground, reciting geography facts to herself.

She heard someone say, "Oh dear—quickly compensate them, one of their book covers must be worth millions."

Her stiff and cowardly compromises only made the laughter grow louder and the playfulness more and more excessive. But she had no choice but to try to avoid their gaze and circle around a few trees, being bounced around like a bowling ball.

Dad always says, "Why do you only bully you and not others?"

Dad was right. There was a reason he chose her; she was deceived by a man.

It turns out that being deceived by someone can come at such a heavy price.

Sometimes, she couldn't quite grasp the situation herself: "Why was I the one who got cheated and hurt? Why do they bully me because I'm hurt?"

Because they felt deceived? Because they felt that everything she had said was a lie?

Oh, so lying can cost you half your life, even if she wasn't the one who lied.

When she lies in bed at night, she often feels pain in her heart, which spreads to her respiratory tract, making even breathing painful.

She told her father that her heart hurt, which terrified him. He took her to the hospital for an electrocardiogram. The doctor said that apart from an irregular heartbeat, there was nothing wrong. He said she was still young and an irregular heartbeat was not a big deal.

She told her father that she always wanted to take deep breaths, as if she was short of breath. Her father took her to see a respiratory specialist, who found that she was perfectly healthy and had a good lung capacity.

Aside from the most prominent psychology department on the first floor, they visited almost every department in the hospital and finally concluded that Yu Xue was perfectly healthy; she was just being dramatic by not wanting to attend class.

The pain returned, an overwhelming sense of pressure coursing through her body, making her feel as if she were about to collapse.

Fortunately, she's gotten used to it; it'll be fine in a little while, it'll be fine in a little while.

Yu Xue lifted her foot and stepped into the next door.

She was actually tired from walking, but for some reason, she kept walking; she couldn't stop.

Fortunately, time keeps moving forward, and no matter how long the journey may be, time will surely carry her through it all.

It was PE class again, and the PE teacher had them line up to do high knees. The girl who had been leading the bullying was called to the front of the class by the teacher because she had been talking in the line, and made to supervise everyone.

She was standing right in front of Yu Xue.

She stared at Yu Xue's chest, waiting for Yu Xue to start dancing.

As soon as Yu Xue jumped, she started laughing and ran around the group.

Several classmates spontaneously asked to stand in front of Yu Xue, facing her, and stared at her chest, laughing as they looked.

Yu Xue stopped and didn't move.

The girl in the lead nudged her with her elbow and said, "Go ahead and jump, the teacher wants everyone to jump."

Someone chimed in, "Hurry up and jump! If you don't jump, the teacher won't let us rest."

"Yeah, yeah, hurry up and jump!"

Yu Xue still didn't move.

The girl suddenly ran around the line, heading towards the PE teacher who was patrolling in the middle of the line, shouting as she ran, "Teacher, Yu Xue won't jump! Yu Xue won't jump!"

Twenty-four-year-old Yu Xue continued walking forward and stepped over the threshold.

Thirteen-year-old Yu Xue suddenly started dressing up for a while. She saw her classmates with their hair half-tied up and half-down, and the teacher didn't say anything. Some people even left two wisps of hair on their foreheads, and the teacher never cared.

Yu Xue also wanted to do that, but she was afraid of being ridiculed.

Since I'll be laughed at no matter what, I might as well get it done.

She mustered up her courage and got the injection, but it took her fifteen minutes of dawdling in the toilet before she started washing up, almost making her late.

That day, she received not only ridicule, but also flashing cameras.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a classmate pointing their phone at her; by the time get out of class ended, the phone camera was almost touching her face.

She finally couldn't hold back and slapped the person's phone away.

They say that if you're weak, you deserve to be bullied. But if you stand up once and beat that person until they're terrified and submit, no one will dare to bully you again.

Thirteen-year-old Yu Xue made a huge decision, picked up the stool, and swung it onto the back of that classmate.

In the end, Yu Xue's father paid 2,000 yuan for medical expenses and 1,800 yuan for a cell phone. In front of so many teachers and classmates, he slapped Yu Xue twice, but he couldn't bear to hit her face, so he hit her back. Yu Xue felt the flashing lights from the audience again.

It might be true, or it might be an illusion.

She didn't know, and she couldn't know. Her mind was a jumbled mess, buzzing. She stared at her toes, taking deep breaths to keep herself from crying. She couldn't bring herself to look up and see if the flash was real.

Later in life, she anonymously asked online: Why do school bullies use flash when taking photos? Why don't they just take photos secretly?

The top-voted answer is: They're just afraid you won't see it. They want to bully you. The angrier you get, the more you react, the happier they are. But they're happy even if you don't react. Anyway, as long as you can't beat them, even your breathing is a joke to them.

From then on, Yu Xue continued to be cowardly.

Even when she was patted on the butt or touched on the chest, she would just quietly dodge away.

When she sits down, she subconsciously scans the bench to make sure there is no water or anything strange. She is afraid to use the toilet at school, afraid to drink the school's water, afraid to leave the school when there are the most people, and afraid to be the last to leave.

Twenty-four-year-old Yu Xue stood at the very back, looking down at her toes, continuing to pretend to be blind.

She continued walking forward, crossing the next threshold.

Thirteen-year-old Yu Xue walked out of the teaching building, head down, carefully looking at the road beneath her feet.

Suddenly, a slap landed on her bottom. Startled, she dodged and turned around to see a boy making a funny face.

She turned her head back, kept it down, and walked quickly forward. Soon, she was slapped again, this time by a girl.

She quietly pulled her schoolbag down a little to cover her bottom, trying to run as fast as she could.

She noticed a girl approaching and tried to turn away to avoid her. She didn't like being touched on the chest, even by girls.

The girl raised her hand, and Yu Xue knew she was about to be touched, but the strange sensation she had imagined did not come.

She didn't dare look up, wanting to keep walking forward, thinking she'd probably dodged it, but in her panic, she bumped into someone, "Uh..."

"Be careful." Wen Feng tugged at her arm.

Eighteen-year-old Wen Feng still looked somewhat immature, but he was much taller than the group of thirteen- or fourteen-year-olds. He stood among the children, grabbed the girl's hand, and asked, "What are you doing!"

He turned his head, looked at the group of boys in the distance, and shouted sternly, "And you guys! What are you doing! Don't you know this is sexual harassment!"

"How long have you been doing this?" Wen Feng gripped her hand, secretly tightening his grip to prevent her from pulling it away. He took out his phone from his pocket. "Where are your parents? Give me their phone number."

Several teachers came up to dissuade them, saying, "Oh dear, the kids are just being silly..."

"Boys are touching girls' butts! Is this considered outrageous?" Wen Feng was furious; he had almost never lost his temper like this before. "Does your school's ethos condone sexual harassment?"

The children around Yu Xue started laughing; hardly any of them were scared.

Sexual harassment is a crime that cannot be used against minors.

“Brother…” Yu Xue grabbed his other hand, trying to pull him away, “Brother, let’s go home, okay, brother, brother…”

Yu Xue's voice went from trembling to excited, and then to tearful.

Wen Feng could not be ignored.

He let go of the girl's hand, turned around, squatted down, and took out a tissue from his pocket to wipe Yu Xue's tears. "What happened? Did they bully you? How long have they been bullying you? Tell your brother, okay?"

Yu Xue shook her head, kept shrinking back, anxiously tugging at Wen Feng's sleeve, trying to pull him away from this place.

The laughter was mocking her, as if it were laughing at her promiscuity.

"That's all for now. I'll come back tomorrow." Wen Feng glanced at the teacher who was trying to dissuade him and said, "If the school doesn't handle it, then we parents will handle it ourselves."

After returning home, Wen Feng pulled Yu Xue into the room. She cried incessantly, her tears flowing like blood, but she said nothing except shake her head.

Wen Feng asked for an hour, but apart from a table full of tissues used to wipe away tears, there was no progress.

Wen Feng grabbed her hand and, mimicking his mother, said, "Xuexue, my darling, do you trust your brother? How about we let Aunt Liu take you to school to deal with it tomorrow? You see, we've already been bullied to this extent, so even if Aunt Liu doesn't succeed, we won't be in much worse shape."

"But if we succeed, no one will dare to bully you again." Wen Feng gently pulled at her palm. "Okay, Xuexue? Let us adults give it a try, okay?"

Two or three minutes later, Wen Feng saw that Yu Xue seemed to nod. He felt an indescribable emotion welling up inside him, a mixture of happiness and pain.

During her time living with the Wen family, Yu Xue felt as if she had truly gained an older brother, as well as a loving mother and father.

"Oh, don't cry, don't cry." Wen Feng wiped away her lingering tears. "What do you want to eat? Didn't you say the steak was delicious the other day? How about we ask the chef to make it for you? And a serving of mashed potatoes? And an ice cream? Okay?"

Yu Xue nodded repeatedly.

Wen Feng stood up. "Then I'll go talk to the chef right now. Don't cry. If you don't want to do your homework, watch some TV. I'll ask for leave for you tomorrow. Don't worry about the homework."

Yu Xue: "Does my brother have the final say?"

Wen Feng: "Of course it counts. If you don't, I'll give you a hundred yuan."

Wen Feng kept his word, but the next morning, Yu Xue still found a hundred yuan under her pillow.

She didn't dare take it, fearing someone might have hidden it there.

She kept it to herself, checking every night to see if he was there.

Finally, when Yu Xue returned home and the nanny was tidying up the room, she took it out from under the pillow.

That same evening after eating steak, Yu Xue faintly heard Liu Xin's furious shouts coming from the opposite room.

Liu Xin: "How can this family take care of their child!"

Liu Xin: "If you can't be a parent, can't you at least use a condom!"

Liu Xin: "Is this baby a garbage can for kitchen waste? Just dump leftovers into it after it's born!"

She heard Liu Xin walk to the door of the room, but was persuaded to go back by Wen's father.

Dad asked, "Where are you going now?"

Liu Xin: "What do you mean I should do? I'm going to check on the child."

Mr. Wen: "It's already past ten o'clock, the child is probably already asleep. Calm down, what good will it do to go see the child now?"

Liu Xin lowered her voice, and Yu Xue didn't hear what she said afterward.

When I woke up the next morning, it was already past ten o'clock.

Wen Feng spent the whole day playing with Barbie dolls with her.

Twenty-four-year-old Yu Xue knew that all those hardships had vanished from the moment she moved into the Wen family home.

So when she grew up, she really wanted to move into the Wen family home. She loved it there; it was her home, her safe haven.

She stepped forward, crossed the last door, and saw a woman with her back to her. The back was so familiar; it had appeared in her dreams many times before.

She has a back view that is very similar to Chen Wanxi's, but when she turns around, she has a face that is almost identical to Liu Xin's.

That was Yu Xue's real mother, a mother from another world.

She rushed over and hugged her tightly.

She still remembers the warmth of lying in her mother's arms when she was little, but now she has grown taller, already 1.65 meters, and she can no longer curl up completely in her mother's body. Her mother has aged, and her face has many wrinkles. When she hugs Yu Xue, she is also leaning on Yu Xue.

Yu Xue had a lot to say. She never thought of abandoning her mother. She was just too afraid of death. She couldn't bring herself to do it. She finally made up her mind, but was interrupted. She didn't know when she would be able to make up her mind a second time.

But she feels that what she is doing now is abandoning her mother.

"Mother……"

“I know what you want to say.” Her mother stroked her back, purring her gently like she was petting a cat. “Sweetie, if you don’t want to come back, then don’t. Mommy won’t mind.”

Yu Xue: "No, Mom, I want to go back..."

“I know, I know.” Her calm voice surrounded Yu Xue, comforting her. “Mom knows that you never thought of abandoning your dad and mom, or your good friends. But Mom knows that death is too painful and requires a lot of determination. Mom doesn’t want you to suffer so much. Mom just wants you to live a happy life.”

Yu Xue: "Mom... am I dreaming?"

Countless times she wondered if her mother from the other world had really appeared before her. It felt like a dream; her mother must be doing well in her world, so why did she come to this world to suffer with her?

But whether it was a dream or not, this was still her mother.

Even in her dreams, her mother always put her first. Her mother's love was ingrained in her very bones. Even if Yu Xue were asked to imagine what it would be like if her mother didn't love her, she couldn't imagine it.

Mom: "No, Mom is really here, baby, Mom is here."

Yu Xue hugged her, not crying loudly, but just shedding tears, just like she had always done since she was a child.

Many words were stuck in her chest, and the familiar heartache returned, but her throat was blocked, and she still couldn't say anything.

She stood there for a long time, until her mother disappeared.

She stepped forward again and crossed the last door.

She opened her eyes; the dream was over.

Everything went black before her eyes, the pain in her body subsided, and she felt very comfortable, as if she were home.

Her eyes blinked, and the hand covering her eyes was removed. She moved her eyes and saw Wen Feng looking worried.

Wen Feng said, "The doctor is giving you an injection. I was afraid you would wake up, so I covered your eyes."

The doctor looked up and said to Yu Xue, "The anesthesia hasn't worn off yet. It might hurt a little when it wears off, so don't move."

"Anesthetic?" Yu Xue managed to utter a few words through her throat. "No, you didn't get it?"

Doctor: "That's a puncture; anesthesia was definitely used during the surgery."

Wen Feng quickly replied, "The surgery is over, don't be afraid, don't be afraid, it's okay."

Wen Feng reached for her free hand and said, "As long as you recover well after the surgery, you're cured. It's okay, Yu Xue, you're alive again."

The doctor left, leaving only Yu Xue and Wen Feng in the ward.

Wen Feng: "Xuexue, while the anesthesia is still working, why don't you sleep a little longer? What if you can't sleep tonight because of the pain?"

Yu Xue said, "I had a dream."

Wen Feng put her cold hands into his pockets. "What did you dream about?"

Yu Xue: "I dreamt about... my mother."

She sensed a momentary pause in Wen Feng's movements and quickly said, "Don't worry, she didn't urge me to go back. She just told me that if I'm really afraid of death, I shouldn't go back to see her."

Just as Wen Feng was about to speak, Yu Xue said, "But I also feel that I can't let her down."

Yu Xue turned her head and looked at Wen Feng's shoulder. "Actually, in my dream I also saw a lot about... another Yu Xue when she was a child. I saw her, and I also saw you. I know, I know you love her very much, right? I don't want to occupy her body and enjoy your love for her."

"No," Wen Feng quickly said, "I...I..."

He hesitated for a long time before finally saying, "I considered Yu Xue as my younger sister when she was little, and I consider Yu Xue as my wife now. Yu Xue, stay here. You are my wife. I married you because I truly love you, and it was never because of any pressure to get married. I will be very sad if you leave."

He pleaded, "Please stay, Yu Xue."

Yu Xue looked up and met his eyes. "I want to see you more. I hope that every day I stay in this world, I can see you."

Yu Xue: "I know that some things should be explained to you by the person involved, but... but I still can't help but want to tell you."

Yu Xue: "The other Yu Xue... the other Yu Xue lied to you about so many things. She never told you the real reason she was bullied at school. She is not a pure and innocent person at all... I, I, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ruin your relationship. I don't know what's wrong with me. I really want to say it. It feels like I'll die if I don't."

Wen Feng leaned down, letting her hand touch his heart, and gently kissed her forehead. "People don't need to be perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, and that's okay."

Wen Feng: "You didn't try to sow discord between us. The former Xiao Yuxue, she was my sister. Whether she's a sister or a wife, she's still a human being, and no one is completely innocent. From the moment I met you, I never thought anyone was innocent."

Yu Xue: "Then why don't you ask me what the real reason she was bullied was? Are you afraid? Afraid of hearing some answers that disgust you?"

Wen Feng: "No matter the reason, no one should suffer that level of torment. We oppose cyberbullying because it has no limits. Saying the wrong thing can cost you your life. School bullying is the same. I know Yu Xue. She is not a bad child. She has her own boundaries. Within those boundaries, no matter what mistakes she makes, she should not suffer such cruel torment."

Wen Feng: "This level of malice is not just trying to kill a child, but trying to kill a soul."

Wen Feng leaned down again and kissed her eyes and the bridge of her nose. "Xuexue, baby, if you're willing to tell me, I'm very willing to listen. I really want to help you get through this. But if you don't want to talk about it, that's okay too. I know it's not your fault."

Yu Xue: "Don't you get angry when I say things like that?"

Wen Feng gently brushed the hair from her face. "I know you're carrying her memories, and it's been tough for you. These memories, whether painful or beautiful, always pop up unexpectedly, disrupting your thoughts. You can't control them, and you're exhausted. You want to talk, you want to vent. I know, I know all of that."

Wen Feng's voice was gentle, it was hard to tell whether it was more of a comfort or a heartache, "Baby, if you have something to say, or if you want to vent, I'm always here."

Sobbing sounds rang out, and Wen Feng knelt down, holding her with one hand and wrapping his other arm around her shoulder, trying his best to make her feel that she was being embraced.

Yu Xue grabbed the web between his thumb and forefinger: "Wen Feng, I believe you will be good to me for the rest of your life."

Wen Feng raised his head slightly and said jokingly, "Then you made the right choice; you have good judgment."
