Chapter 6 Don’t be afraid…

Sui Yuzhu opened a small gap, revealing only one eye looking outside.

They were two young men. I couldn't see their faces clearly in the dim light, but I felt they were very young, probably in their twenties.

He looked tall and was wearing a neat dark blue work suit.

The young man in the lead was holding a wild rabbit in his hand and glaring at everyone.

The young man behind him was relatively calm, and just tightened the knife at his waist.

On the villagers' side, one of them stepped forward, smiling broadly, and said to them, "It's like this. In our brigade, there's a man named Lao Shi. He just got married, and his wife stole all our belongings and ran away. We..."

Before he could finish his words, the young man holding the rabbit sneered, "Whether you married her or bought her, you know it in your hearts!"

The smile on that person's face suddenly faded, and he stopped pretending and said to the two of them, "We have nothing to do with you. As long as we go in and see if that girl is in there, we will leave immediately!"

As he said that, he asked someone to open the tent.

Seeing this, the young man quickly came to the front of the tent and blocked their way: "Let me tell you, we were sent by the province to work for the country. If you mess around, you will suffer the consequences!"

Sui Yuzhu's heart suddenly became nervous.

There are only two people here, and there are at least twelve or thirteen villagers.

Can they win?

She was nervous and didn't notice that the young man who had been standing still glanced in her direction.

"Dongfang, let them go in and look for it!"

A clear and melodious voice was heard, and Sui Yuzhu looked in the direction of the voice.

It sounded familiar, as if it was the voice that had been calling her in her ear when she was unconscious.

The young man who had been silent the whole time said to the young man holding the rabbit, "Let them find it and leave quickly."

The young man named Dongfang, who was holding the rabbit, frowned, a trace of disbelief flashing across his face: "Qin Yue, did you get kicked in the head by a donkey?"

Qin Yue winked at him.

Although Xiang Dongfang was a little confused, he didn't say anything and stepped aside.

The villagers searched inside but didn't find anyone, so they came out.

"Sorry to bother you."

The sturdy man in the lead smiled at the two of them, revealing his large yellow teeth. "If you see the young wife who ran away from our village, please inform us!"

Xiang Dongfang had a confused expression on his face, and it was obvious that he didn't know when the person died.

He was still perfunctorily saying, "Okay, okay."

The villagers did not stay any longer and left soon.

After watching them leave, the two looked at each other and breathed a sigh of relief.

Sui Yuzhu, who was hiding in the bushes, also breathed a sigh of relief.

However, even though the two men in front of her were not in the same group as the villagers, she was not in a hurry to leave.

She didn't want to trust anyone until she was completely out of danger.

However, my heart, which had been hanging in the air, finally relaxed a little at this moment.

"Old Qin, how do you know she's gone?"

Xiang Dongfang walked towards the fire carrying a wild rabbit.

Qin Yue entered the tent and did not answer his question.

"That female comrade is quite fierce. She can still run even with such injuries?"

Xiang Dongfang was talking to himself as he started to process the rabbit. "I was thinking of catching a rabbit for her to eat, but she's gone now."

Having said that, he paused and turned to look in the direction of the tent.

"What if she gets caught again?"

Qin Yue opened the tent and walked out. He glanced in the direction where Sui Yuzhu was hiding and said softly, "Not for now."

Xiang Dongfang looked puzzled and followed his gaze.

Looking at the small piece of clothing exposed in the bushes, it is not conspicuous, but you can still see it if you look closely.

He understood immediately.

Since people were afraid, they did not expose her.

Seeing their expressions, Sui Yuzhu guessed that they had guessed that she was hiding here.

Even so, she did not go out.

She is alone now, who knows who they are and whether they will target her again.

Seeing that the porridge in her arms had become cold, she drank it all up.

Although my stomach is not full yet, I feel much better.

"This woman even took my lunch box before leaving!"

A voice complaining came from the east.

Sui Yuzhu looked at the lunch box in her hand and silently handed it out.

Turning his eyes to the east, he saw the lunch box "appearing out of thin air" on the ground. He was stunned for a moment, then smiled and shook his head.

Just when Sui Yuzhu was dozing off, she suddenly smelled a fragrant aroma.

Meaty aroma.

She licked the corner of her mouth and couldn't help swallowing.

When I took a look outside, I saw that the man had already cleaned the wild rabbit and was roasting it on the rack.

As I swallowed my saliva, my stomach also started to growl.

I'm really hungry.

If only I could have a bite of rabbit leg...

Thinking of this, Sui Yuzhu licked the corners of her cracked lips again.

Just as she was thinking about grilling meat, the man's voice came into her ears again.

"If you're hungry, come out and eat something."

It was Qin Yue's voice.

After a pause, he added, "I'm a Party member, don't be afraid."

As he spoke, he showed Sui Yuzhu the party emblem on his left chest.
