Chapter 162 Don't ask too many questions about what's going on above.

A dark green armored vehicle stopped at the entrance to Territory 13.

With this setup, everyone knew who was coming without even looking; there was only one person traveling like this in the entire planting area.

Four guards jumped down from the side steps of the car and cleared a space.

Immediately afterwards, the car door opened, and Yang Mei, wearing a dark gray protective suit, got out of the car.

There was a five or six-year-old boy sitting inside the car. He poked his head out and was about to get off the car with the adults when Yang Mei pushed him back and decisively closed the car door.

"Mom!" the boy banged on the car window.

Yang Mei looked helpless and turned back to instruct, "Wait a moment."

Perhaps sensing the seriousness in her tone, the boy pouted and remained silent, pressing his head against the car window and staring intently out the window for the person he wanted to see.

Unfortunately, the backs of adults were all in front of the car, blocking his view, so he could only peek at his surroundings through the monitor inside the car.

A corner of the green wall appeared among the figures, startling the boy so much that his mouth dropped open.

Not only him, but Yang Mei outside the car, though she didn't open her mouth wide, her suddenly widened eyes betrayed her inner surprise.

However, she quickly suppressed all her emotions, turned to Mo Shigui, and ordered, "Tell them to put away their weapons."

“This…” Mo Shigui’s eyes were full of disapproval.

The guards behind Yang Mei explained, "The general has granted our director the privilege of freely mobilizing the guards stationed at Taoyuan Base. Strictly speaking, the patrol teams of the three major planting areas (A, B, and C) also belong to the guards stationed at Taoyuan Base."

Mo Shigui took a deep breath. Military orders are absolute. Without any objection, he waved his hand, ordering his soldiers to put away their weapons and remove the vehicle-mounted flamethrowers.

However, considering his responsibilities, he couldn't help but remind her: "Director Yang, you are an expert in the study of mutant species. I hope you know what you are doing right now. A Grade A mutant plant has openly appeared on the territory of Zone B. This is something that all lords must be aware of..."

Yang Mei suddenly raised her hand to interrupt the rest of what she was about to say.

She gave her assistant a wink, and the assistant raised her hand, signaling Mo Shigui to step aside and speak.

Mo Shigui, filled with vigilance yet also a bit curious, hesitantly followed his assistant, and the two arrived at the back of the armored vehicle.

The assistant handed him a report. Mo Shigui took it suspiciously, and after scanning it once, his expression changed drastically.

But before he could look at it more closely, the report had already been taken back by his assistant.

"Captain Mo is not allowed to tell anyone before the research institute releases this report. This is an order," the assistant solemnly instructed.

"Now you should be relieved, right?" The assistant patted his arm, signaling him to control his expression and not show that shocked face to the lords outside, lest it arouse unwarranted speculation.

Mo Shigui paused for two seconds before quickly adopting a serious expression and following his assistant back behind Yang Mei.

This time, he didn't say anything more, but stared intently at the green wall behind Zhao Gang and his daughter not far away, his eyes shining with anticipation.

Yang Mei turned back to him with displeasure, "Aren't you leaving yet?"

"Huh? Oh! Oh!" Mo Shigui realized what was happening and quickly turned around to grab the megaphone, urging the surrounding lords to hurry up:

"Disperse, disperse, everyone disperse! With Director Yang as your guarantor, you can all rest assured that this green wall will not appear anywhere outside Territory 13!"

Yang Mei frowned slightly. When did she act as a guarantor?

But that didn't stop Mo Shigui from saying that. He quietly watched the green wall and waited for the other lords to leave.

Mo Shigui simply dragged all the lords who didn't want to leave onto the vehicle and sent them off to continue their voluntary labor!

Aji and the others were completely bewildered. They huddled around Mo Shigui and whispered, "Boss, are we just leaving like this? What if that mutated plant goes berserk? Director Yang only has four people... Won't something happen?"

Mo Shigui rolled her eyes at him: "Have you forgotten what biotech companies do?"

That's a place that specializes in studying mutants; it's the nemesis of mutants. You should worry about yourselves more than those people.

Seeing that Aji seemed hesitant to speak and wanted to ask more, Mo Shigui coldly said, "Don't ask about things above. Watch the road and drive carefully."

"Boss, what did that assistant show you just now?"

Mo Shigui slapped him across the face, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

Aji hissed, ultimately not daring to ask any more questions, muttering to himself, "That father and daughter on number 13 must be hiding a lot of secrets..."

All the bystanders dispersed, and Yang Mei smiled gently, asking, "Xiao Xiu, may Auntie come in?"

Zhao Xiaoxiu ran straight over, and it was unclear whether she heard her question or not, as she kept shouting, "Youyou!"

Yang Mei's heart skipped a beat as she watched her approach. She instinctively wanted to reach out and hug her, but she forced herself to restrain herself and opened the car door while maintaining a smile.

Youyou couldn't wait to jump out of the car. The two children opened their arms and gave each other a big hug. They happily jumped together several times before separating.

After recuperating for a month and waiting for the research base to be completed, Youyou waited and waited, and finally got the opportunity to come to Area B.

He had been holding back for so long, and as soon as he saw Zhao Xiaoxiu, he started chattering nonstop.

The two walked hand in hand toward the green wall. Youyou asked curiously, "Is it really an A-grade mutated plant? Does it eat people? Adults seem to be very afraid of it. Xiaoxiu, aren't you scared?"

"Don't be afraid. The Green Fairy listens to me. As long as you don't hurt it, it won't attack you. If you come to me again, I'll have the Green Fairy let you in directly."

Zhao Xiaoxiu happily led her friend into the yard, spreading her arms wide to show him her more beautiful home.
