Jiang Yilai took a deep breath, found a tree, climbed it, turned the flashlight to its brightest setting, shone it down the mountain, and shouted for help.
“Can anyone hear me? We’re halfway up the mountain. Someone here is injured and needs first aid.”
Unable to send a distress signal using a mobile phone, this is the only method available.
Jiang Yilai waved her flashlight vigorously, hoping someone would see the signal she was sending.
However, her shouts went unanswered, as if she were being devoured by a ferocious beast in the pitch-black, silent night.
Jiang Yilai couldn't give up and continued shouting, "We're here, we need rescue! Someone's injured, come help quickly!"
Her voice was hoarse and trembling with worry for the two men's injuries, which sounded heartbreaking.
Jiang Wenchao, standing under the tree, comforted her with heartache: "Mom, don't worry, I'll shout with you."
After saying that, he shouted down the mountain at the top of his lungs. The mother and son looked at each other and continued to ask for help.
A few minutes later, Jiang Yilai was exhausted. Jiang Wenchao said worriedly, "Mom, it's dangerous for you to be up in the tree. Come down first."
Jiang Yilai was also worried that she would run out of oxygen if she kept shouting like that. Now that she was the only adult left, she couldn't let anything happen to herself.
She carefully descended, still using a flashlight to transmit signals.
She held Jiang Wenchao's hand and tried to force a smile.
"Wen Chao, don't worry, Uncle Li and your godmother have come looking for us, we'll definitely find them soon."
"With my mom around, I'm not afraid of anything."
Jiang Yilai nodded sadly, hoping that someone would see the message she sent soon.
She looked up with a heavy heart, and just as she was about to despair, a beam of light suddenly appeared behind her.
Jiang Yilai's pupils dilated as if she had seen a glimmer of hope, and she quickly turned around. However, when she saw who was standing behind her, she was horrified.
Jiang Yilai subconsciously tugged at Jiang Wenchao's hand and spoke in a commanding tone.
"Wen Chao, go back inside right now and stay with your father and the others. Don't come out."
Jiang Wenchao was curious and wanted to turn around, but she immediately stopped him.
"Wenchao, don't look back. You have to trust your mother. Run back right now and don't come out without my permission."
"Mom, but..."
"Don't worry, Mom will be fine. They are acquaintances."
Seeing his mother's stern expression, Jiang Wenchao knew he couldn't delay any longer, so he nodded helplessly and went back into the house.
Jiang Yilai took a deep breath, and when she saw Kang Jun, it was as if she understood everything.
She never expected that this matter would eventually be related to Old Master Fu.
She suspected many people, but never the old man. She felt that he was, after all, his great-grandson, and no matter how ruthless he was, he wouldn't harm two children.
However, when she saw Kang Jun here, wearing the same clothes as the person who had just attacked her, she knew that she had been too naive in the past.
"Was it done by the old man?"
“Miss Jiang, to make a long story short, we have learned that the young master was injured, and we are here to take him to the hospital.”
Jiang Yilai clenched her fists and gritted her teeth, saying, "He got hurt because of you! If anything happens to him or my daughter, I will never let you off the hook."
Kang Jun showed no fear whatsoever, naturally not taking her, a mere woman, seriously.
“I think you should consider your situation now. Whether you can get them timely treatment depends on the old man’s opinion.”
