Jiang Yilai respects her child's choices, and she will fully support him whether he wants to inherit the family business or start his own.
Not wanting the atmosphere to become awkward, Jiang Yilai chimed in.
"Yu Yang has a unique perspective and a talent for recognizing Chinese culture. Sometimes, when work is too tiring, having a hobby to relax is a great thing."
Gu Yuyang nodded: "That's what I meant. Grandma, are you sleepy? I'll take you back to your room."
Grandma Gu patted his hand: "I'm not sleepy yet, I want to chat with Lai Lai for a while."
Jiang Yilai stepped forward, took her hand, and said considerately, "Then I'll take you back to your room, and then we can talk slowly."
As he spoke, he glanced back at Fu Nanxiao, who, understanding the situation, nodded and went upstairs first.
"Lai Lai, I've been very anxious."
"What's wrong with Grandma?"
“Your uncle hasn’t come back all day, and I don’t know how Du Yi is doing. I want to go see her, but your uncle is worried that I’ll be upset and won’t let me go.”
Jiang Yilai, hearing this, felt troubled and comforted her, "Uncle is doing this for your own good. Aunt's emotions are unstable, and it wouldn't be good if she said something that affected you."
"We're all family, so I'm not afraid."
"It's enough that you mean well. Your aunt will come back once she recovers."
"And I heard that Gu Nianqiang came back. Do you know how she's been doing lately? After being kicked out, is she still causing trouble?"
"She's doing alright now, are you just showing concern for her?"
Grandma Gu sighed, "After all, she grew up in this family. I just don't know how she became so bad. If she hadn't gone too far, I wouldn't have driven her away."
"Grandma, if she changes for the better, would you still accept her?" Jiang Yilai wanted to test the old lady's opinion.
Grandma Gu sneered, "Lai Lai, you must remember this: if a person's nature is bad, then that will never change in this lifetime. That's just human nature."
Jiang Yilai felt heavy-hearted, thinking about what Gu Nianqiang had done, and it was indeed difficult to comment on it.
She helped the old lady lie down and gently comforted her, saying, "I'll remember that. Don't worry too much, taking care of your health is the most important thing."
"With you all by my side, I feel much better."
"Then I'll stay here and sleep with you."
"very nice!"
Grandma Gu nodded with relief. She was able to get out of the gloom so quickly thanks to the two people taking turns to accompany her.
Jiang Yilai quietly left the room after the old lady fell asleep, and quickened her pace knowing that Fu Nanxiao was waiting for her.
As soon as she opened the door and stepped inside, Fu Nanxiao, who was hiding behind the door, grabbed her and pulled her into a hug.
Jiang Yilai was startled and slapped his hand away.
"You're really naive, trying to scare people like that."
Fu Nanxiao simply picked her up and carried her horizontally, saying, "Who told you to neglect your husband lately?"
Jiang Yilai was both amused and exasperated. "You really are jealous of everything. We're supposed to be with Grandma."
"Of course I know all that, but you're spending less and less time with me."
“It was my oversight. After we finish these things, we’ll take the kids out for a couple of days to play in the temple.”
"Could we leave them at home to keep Grandma company?"
Jiang Yilai was amused by him and couldn't help but laugh, "You really think the child was an accident?"
Fu Nanxiao said frankly, "I want to spend some time alone with you, but of course you can bring them if you're worried about them."
That's what she said, but Fu Nanxiao looked at her with such expectant eyes that Jiang Yilai couldn't refuse.
He knows how to manipulate people.
