Chapter 13 Phone Numbers (2/2)

In such circles, even an "average girl" is far above average in looks. Just take what the teacher says with a grain of salt.

Jiang Lei was lost in thought, her eyes darting around, when she suddenly caught sight of the osmanthus cake beside her.

This plate of osmanthus cakes was a prop; it was sprayed with chemicals to prevent the actors from accidentally eating them. Therefore, although it was a real cake, it had long since become dry and hard from repeated use.

Jiang Lei's eyes narrowed slightly. She noticed that the osmanthus cake that the First Madam had just touched was now broken.

There was no requirement in the script for the First Madam to crush the osmanthus cake. There is only one possibility: the actress playing the First Madam got into character and, based on the situation, intentionally or involuntarily crushed the osmanthus cake.

Jiang Lei glanced at Shang Yechu, who was still working diligently.

Could it be this minor character who drew the First Madam into the role?

Jiang Lei recalled Shang Yechu's eyes and performance when he "died," and made up her mind.

Well, there's no other way but to give a perfunctory answer. My senior uncle is currently filming a big-budget production, and to compete with him, I hastily submitted a similar script—it's a guaranteed flop. When it comes to being perfunctory, who can be more so than me?

Introducing a famous actor would be like pushing them into a fire pit; it would be better to create job opportunities for this talented extra.

Thinking of this, Jiang Lei's last bit of psychological burden vanished. She waved to Shang Yechu, "Xiao Ye, stop packing and come here quickly, I have something to ask you."

Shang Yechu rushed over and asked politely, "Director, what's the matter?"

Jiang Lei smiled and asked, "What other roles have you taken on recently?"

Shang Yechu was taken aback, then said embarrassedly, "You're making fun of me. For drifters like us, we just take it one day at a time."

Jiang Lei nodded; this answer was exactly what she expected.

“My teacher happens to be filming a movie and needs a few roles. He asked me to lend him some actors today,” Jiang Lei said. “Are you interested in giving it a try?”

Shang Yechu immediately showed an expression of being flattered: "Me?"

Jiang Lei chuckled inwardly, "It's you. Of course, don't even think about the big roles; my teacher's script is a very famous IP. But we can still look into supporting roles. Here's a phone number; you can contact him yourself."

Jiang Lei didn't need to personally handle such a trivial matter; simply giving Shang Yechu a phone number was already a favor. Many people can't even get their hands on a phone number.

Shang Yechu was stunned for a moment, then her face lit up with surprise: "Thank you, Director!"

As she spoke, she quickly pulled a notepad and a pen from her pocket and handed them to Jiang Lei with both hands.

Why would someone use pen and paper to remember phone numbers instead of a mobile phone? Jiang Lei was puzzled for a second, but without thinking much of it, she picked up a pen and prepared to write on the notepad.

The notepad was filled with Chinese characters, which weren't very pretty, but each stroke was neat enough. It contained lines from a script.

The extra was quite hardworking. Jiang Lei secretly regretted it; what a pity.

Jiang Lei quickly wrote down a string of numbers on the paper and returned the notepad to Shang Yechu.

Seeing Shang Yechu's longing look, Jiang Lei was reminded of her own early days in the industry, when she too was full of hope and dreamed of getting an opportunity...

Jiang Lei sighed and advised, "Make sure you look presentable when you go for the interview, and it would be best to get a beauty treatment. Girls in this industry need to take care of themselves to some extent."

Shang Yechu thanked her profusely, which made Jiang Lei, who was only trying to appease him, feel quite embarrassed.

"Alright, stop fussing around here, there's a cleaner." Jiang Lei gave a listless smile. "Go collect your wages."

Shang Yechu happily agreed and turned to leave the house.

Once out of Jiang Lei's sight, the smugness, surprise, and flattery on Shang Yechu's face vanished in an instant. It was as if it had evaporated completely.

103 said lazily, "Your acting skills in changing your expression are much better than when you were playing Manager Tian."

Shang Yechu asked, "Are you very free?"

103 said coldly, "I just find the hypocrisy of humans boring. If you don't like listening to me talk, then I won't talk anymore."

After saying that, 103 remained silent.
