Chapter 117 "Prior Statement".

Gu Li turned and stood in front of the reporter. Despite his short stature, he still exuded a sense of superiority, and his voice was calm and relaxed.

"Pre-emptive statement".

“I did not come here as a student.”

The plastic stick in her hand spun around, then suddenly grazed the person's face and flew off to the side behind them. The explosive sound that went through the air, so unusual for a plastic stick, made one wonder if it was filled with gunpowder.

The plastic stick plunged headfirst into a black curtain with unstoppable force, and at the same time, a dying scream of some creature rang out.

With a heavy thud, dark blood gradually spread from behind the black curtain.

An eerie silence suddenly fell over the scene as everyone stared at the girl who had casually tossed out the plastic stick.

The reporter who had just spoken up had a stiff face, like a mannequin, and was sweating profusely as he watched Gu Li slowly walk away from him.

Her words struck the crowd like a thunderbolt.

"I am the king of the city of aliens."

Amidst a murmur of gasps, the StarNet reporter, displaying exceptional professionalism, raised his camera: "Click."

He didn't take the childish declaration of being a king as a joke. He was nearly forty years old and knew more than a young person who knew nothing.

Beyond that black sea known as the Wall, there truly exists a city abandoned by the Federation, rumored to be inhabited by many alien species known as the Advanced Species…

His gaze trembled slightly as he met Gu Li's eyes, and he opened his mouth: "The so-called City of Aliens...aren't they all inhabited by advanced species? How could you be...the King?"

Looking into those sky-blue eyes, he felt as if he were being seen through.

He swallowed hard.

Gu Li stared at him expressionlessly, satisfied to see his panicked expression, and answered crisply, "How do you know I'm not? Okay, that's it, warm-up exercises complete."

She pretended not to see Ernst's reproachful gaze, and casually sat down in the chair next to him, crossing her arms and waiting for the press conference to begin.

Ernst looked at her indifferent expression and sighed inwardly. The Federation had abandoned them back then, but now, when they were in danger, they were being asked to come back.

Never mind... they deserve it, as long as he's here.

He gripped the microphone, interrupting the noise below: "Please keep quiet. This press conference will mainly address issues outside the Federation and how the Alien City was formed. You can ask other questions at the end."

Countless eyes in the arena finally stopped staring at the girl with light golden hair, trying to find a trace of non-human characteristics in her.

They pointed their portable cameras at Ernst Levy.

They awaited with a mixture of excitement and fear as a completely new world opened up to them.

Ernst’s voice was very heavy: “I think everyone is eager to know about this, so I said at the forefront, yes, outside the Federation it is not all covered by the Death Plains, there are other countries on the other side of the Death Plains.”

The reporter from Xingwang unconsciously held his breath, raising his camera high, attempting to clearly and completely record this historic moment.

They were no longer angry; they gradually sank into it as Ernst spoke in a heavy tone.

Outside of the Federation, there are two other major religious states, Bellamy and Grantham.

They worshipped the same god—Nicholas.

The moment that name was uttered through the microphone, a hand suddenly reached out from behind the huge black curtain in the stadium. Before the soldier guarding in front could react, a huge claw pierced through his chest.

He collapsed into a pool of blood.

Screams echoed throughout the venue; I had a premonition when Gu Li threw the plastic stick in that direction.

But no one expected that what was inside was actually a mutant!

Chaos erupted visibly at the scene. Countless gun barrels were pointed at the cage shrouded behind the curtain. The slain soldiers were quickly taken away, leaving a pool of bright red blood on the ground.

Gu Li frowned as he looked over there. That thing... it actually reacted to the name of that god?!

Ernst's expression darkened. The influence of that evil god was greater than he had imagined. He quickened his pace: "Those two countries under His control have long been tainted with pollution and can no longer be considered human."

"Hundreds of years ago, our ancestors made this decision to isolate us from those places. The Federation has a natural geographical location, and the only place that borders Grantham is the City of the Alien."

The panicked discussions below grew louder, and Ernst had to raise his voice: "Our defenses, along with the twelve districts of the Exile, barely encircle the safe zone and keep out the danger, but that doesn't mean they're impregnable."

"Fifty years ago, Grantham and Bellamy launched a joint attack on the Federation, attempting to pollute this land. Perhaps the older ones here are familiar with this war, and the Federation paid a heavy price to stop them."

He thought of the brutal scene of the army being almost completely wiped out back then, and closed his eyes: "And those who remained in that city called the alien city... were not the enemy."

"Those were the thousands of contaminated soldiers who survived the contamination and retained their minds, in order to cover the retreat of the last troops!"

His tone grew increasingly forceful until it abruptly dropped: "...but they still endured the fear of the crowd and resolutely gave the opportunity to the remaining people."

Gu Li stared intently at everything, and any disbelief or contempt seemed to be laid bare in her eyes.

Her gaze finally fell on the man who had spoken first, and she reached out to pull the microphone in front of the principal: "The principal has finished speaking, now it's my turn."

Everyone was somewhat taken aback as Gu Li confronted the man, asking, "What do you want to ask?"

The man couldn't help but take a step back, then, thinking that Gu Li might have been corrupted, he took another step back: "I... I just wanted to say that since they've already been corrupted, they should be abandoned. Does the principal have ulterior motives in shaping them into such great figures?"

After listening, Gu Li blinked and leaned back in her chair.

Ernst Levy's eyes flashed with anger and sadness upon hearing his words, but he eventually regained his composure: "Yes, I have my own selfish reasons, not just because my brother is in it. I have believed for fifty years that they should not be forgotten like this."

The man pressed on, "Does your admission of this student to the Federal University mean that the Federal University and the so-called alien city are on the same side?"

Gu Li gave him a deep look.

She casually drew the long knife that she used as decoration from her waist and threw it, which passed right through the reporter's arm and stuck between his legs.

The man's voice abruptly stopped.

Gu Li sat there, propping her head up with her hand, and looked at him, holding up two fingers: "I want to reiterate two things."

"First of all, I am the king of the city of aliens, so ask me this kind of question directly."

"Secondly, I don't like listening to nonsense."
