Chapter 160 Promise Him

"Make way, make way!"

A heavy rumble of wheels came from behind. Gu Li turned slightly to the side, leading Lucy away. It was a young man pushing a wooden cart.

Two huge wooden barrels were piled on the truck, and the wheels groaned under the weight as it passed by the two men.

It creaked and groaned as it disappeared into the distance.

As the cart passed by, Gu Li twitched her nose, her eyes instantly darkening as she met Lucy's gaze for confirmation.

Lucy, a former scout from fifty years ago, gave her a confirming look, her fingers twitching slightly, and a barely perceptible thread stuck to the hem of the person's clothes.

"Let's go."

The cart had been cleaned, but the blood seeping into the crevices still couldn't be removed, and the stench of blood inside the two sealed wooden barrels was so strong it was nauseating.

They pretended to be shopping, walking and stopping, and finally stopped in front of a dark red door with some faded words on the signboard.

I could vaguely make out the words "Wild Rose Bar".

Gu Li subtly touched the hilt of the sword under her skirt. The man disappeared with the cart, and this was exactly the location Barry had given her.

This is indeed the Red Bees' stronghold, but I wonder what the contents of the wooden barrels are for.

"I always feel that being in this bar gives people a bad impression."

Gu Li murmured.

They walked in one after the other, almost instantly attracting several gazes. Gu Li looked around curiously with a smile on her face.

Then he pulled Lucy's arm from behind and walked towards the bar.

With a slight exertion of his hand, he firmly held Lucy, who was about to go to the bar to say the code, in place.

Her lips moved slightly: "Don't act rashly yet, let's observe the situation."

Gu Li looked up and met the bartender's gaze behind the bar. Quite naturally, she let go of Lucy's arm and sat down.

A noble yet innocent smile appeared on her face, and she cheerfully said to the bartender, "Please give me one of your signature drinks."

The bartender was a rather handsome young man. His gaze first swept over Lucy, taking a closer look at her slender yet powerful muscle lines.

His gaze then fell upon Gu Li, who was slender and had delicate features. The deep contemplation in his eyes faded, and a handsome smile appeared on his face.

He approached Gu Li with a hint of regret, his voice carrying a seductive undertone: "Miss, our little bar doesn't have that kind of thing. If you're an adult, I'd be happy to buy you a dark beer."

Gu Li had a pair of sky-blue eyes, naturally exuding an innocent naiveté, especially when she deliberately showed her innocent side.

"Of course I'm an adult!"

The bartender poured her a drink at the opportune moment, then placed the bottle in front of Lucy for her to see: "I think this young lady probably doesn't need one?"

Lucy stood behind Gu Li, dutifully acting as a silent guard. She shook her head and said calmly, "Thank you, but I don't need it."

Gu Li took a sip of the somewhat cloudy liquid in her glass, then stuck out her tongue and said in a clear voice, "It doesn't taste good."

The bartender's eyes seemed to say, "I knew it."

He glanced at Gu Li's side and back, then approached Gu Li in an ambiguous manner, his black eyes showing a calmness and pity that contrasted with his expression.

"This chaotic place is not suitable for a lady like you. Please leave with your guards as soon as possible."

Gu Li opened her eyes slightly, and just as she opened her mouth, the bartender's expression changed, and then a shadow fell from behind her.

A deep voice, thick with the smell of alcohol, rang out: "What are you saying to this lady, El?"

The bartender named Al shuddered reflexively, almost losing his nonchalant smile.

Suddenly, a hand gently touched the back of his hand. El was startled and met Gu Li's gaze again.

Those rare light blue eyes carried a calming tranquility, and his pounding heart gradually calmed down.

Ignoring Gu Li's contrasting behavior, he straightened up and looked behind her: "I just thought this young lady was cute, so I said a few more words. Will, is there something you need?"

Will sat down next to Gu Li, his size almost twice as wide as hers, giving everyone present a great sense of oppression.

The most obvious sound was the series of doors opening behind me.

Gu Li pretended to move uncomfortably, distancing herself from the big guy. Will's body was extremely muscular, but his face was unusually smooth.

There's a strange, awkward feeling about it.

Gu Li felt that it seemed somewhat familiar.

Will gestured to the most conspicuous giant barrel behind the bar: "Perhaps the young lady should try our specialty."

He looked down to meet Gu Li's gaze, his facial muscles twitching: "We call it the Sacrifice of the Holy Mother."

At his prompting, El stiffly poured two cups from the barrel and placed them in front of Gu Li and Lucy: "Please enjoy."

At some point, everyone in the bar stopped drinking and quietly looked over. Gu Li sat on a high stool, swinging her legs as if unaware of what was happening.

Her pale fingers gripped the cup, and the crimson liquid inside reflected in her hands, making it appear somewhat grotesque.

Today is Al's first month working at Red Rose. He has gradually moved on from the initial joy of getting the job to realizing that this bar is just not right from the start.

The most suspicious one was the wine called the Sacrifice of the Virgin Mary.

This liquor was sourced by Will from outside, with a secret recipe, and more importantly, everyone who has tasted it becomes obsessed with it.

It is described as an exceptionally fine wine.
