As soon as Gu Li stepped onto the second floor, he heard Lorenzo's terrified scream.
She quickened her pace silently, and amidst Lorenzo's screams, she grabbed him and rushed inside, slamming the door shut in front of them.
Lorenzo, still shaken, stared at the closed door and heard the sounds of heavy objects colliding inside. He was helped up, his face pale.
"How did she go in by herself?!"
"Should we go find someone? I just saw them; there were two werewolves inside that hadn't fully transformed!"
The men behind him exchanged glances for a moment. This was the White Eagle's base; wandering around recklessly could be fatal.
Before they could even finish their discussion, the tightly closed door was suddenly opened from the inside, and Gu Li, whom everyone was worried about, appeared inside unharmed.
Apart from her hair being a little messy, her clothes were still as neat as they were before she went in.
Lorenzo was stunned.
Gu Li took a step back, revealing the scene inside: "Come in."
As everyone walked in, they saw the two people bound hand and foot and lying motionless on the ground. They all looked at Gu Li, who seemed completely unaffected, with shame.
Their expressions quickly turned serious. They had seen patients bitten by werewolves before, but they were not very confident in forcibly suppressing the contamination that was about to completely take over their bodies.
They took out several crystal bottles filled with medicine from their medical kits and sprinkled them on Saide and Alfoseni respectively.
Then he sat down on the ground and began to pray to the two people in the middle.
Gu Li: ...As expected of foreigners, there are indeed cultural differences in the medical system.
She looked down at the two people trapped inside, their faces covered in colorful medicine, struggling frantically, accompanied by the doctors chanting incantations around them.
Gu Li suddenly had the illusion that he had stumbled into an exorcism scene.
Time passed slowly, and one of the doctors, with gray hair, was the first to stop and stumble into the chair that Gu Li had moved over.
He glanced at the darkening sky outside, his face grim.
"This won't do; this blood isn't working for them at all!"
Gu Li's gaze followed; were those liquids blood?
Time was running out. Gu Li couldn't help but tap his arm with his fingers and asked in a low voice, "Why does exorcism require blood?"
The old doctor glanced at her and sighed: "Ordinary pollution is of course unnecessary, but the pollution carried by werewolves, a legendary species, is somewhat special."
"A more powerful alien bloodline is needed to suppress it successfully."
Gu Li paused for a moment, then turned and walked outside.
"Wait a moment."
Lorenzo couldn't help but glance in the direction she left. How could they possibly collect alien blood at a time like this?
Unless there are baptized, highly alienated individuals here willing to donate their blood.
Thinking of this, he shook his head again. That's impossible. Those highly mutated guys are all a bunch of lunatics.
It's even less likely that they would give up their blood to save lives.
Miss Gu Li was right to avoid it.
Before long, the door was opened again, and a crystal bottle containing bright red liquid was handed to him, accompanied by a strong smell of blood.
Use this.
Lorenzo sighed deeply. The bright red color was clearly human blood, which wouldn't have any effect and might even arouse their animalistic instincts.
"Miss Gu Li, please stop being so stubborn. Ordinary blood won't be of any use."
Lorenzo earnestly advised, "You'd better get out of here quickly. When the first ray of moonlight falls, they will completely transform into mindless monsters!"
The girl with light golden hair frowned deeply and looked up at him again.
Lorenzo straightened his back and stood up straight, displaying reassuringly broad arms. Miss Guli remained silent; she must have been very moved.
Gu Li gave him a deep look, and seemed to sigh.
He turned around and handed the bottle in his hand to the old doctor in the chair: "Please take a look and see if this can be used."
Lorenzo's expression gradually waned under the gaze of the doctors, and an embarrassed blush quickly spread across his entire face.
One of them nudged his arm: "Alright, get to work. This guy's one of White Eagle's men, we'd better keep our distance."
Lorenzo shut his mouth, looking aggrieved: "Perhaps Miss Gu Li has some reason for being here?"
By this time, he had completely forgotten who had forced him to stop and brought him here.
The old doctor opened the bottle cap, poured a drop of the bright red liquid into his hand, sniffed it for a moment, his expression changed, and he tentatively licked it.
"Bang!"
It was the old doctor standing up, and the stool behind him moved back a large distance as he did so.
He stared at Gu Li in shock, as if he were seeing some legendary monster: "Where did you get this vial of blood?!"
"This is the most contaminated blood I've ever encountered! If only I had this..."
Gu Li calmly met the gaze of the two pairs of unfocused eyes on the ground: "Can it be used?"
The old doctor finally stopped, then, remembering the two patients still on the ground, composed himself and nodded emphatically: "Yes!"
He poured the bright red liquid from the bottle onto the two of them, and then immediately closed his eyes to pray. This time, Gu Li saw a faint white light appear from mid-air and enter the bodies of Saide and the other man.
After the blood was spilled, the two men, who had stopped struggling, gradually lost their ferocious expressions, and even their ears retracted.
The exorcism, led by four doctors, ended as dusk was falling and a full moon appeared on the horizon.
