The group stopped at the same time, and the old doctor looked at Gu Li with great concern: "We have done all we can. Being contaminated by werewolves is a lifelong condition, and we can only minimize the impact."
"If I may ask, may I know the source of that bottle of blood?"
Gu Li paused for a moment, then stood up and whispered something in his ear.
After Jack saw the others off, Gu Li entered the room and threw the two onto the bed. Next to her was the communicator that Jack had just found for her.
She sat by the window, moonlight streaming onto her face, and could faintly hear the howling of wolves in the distance.
As soon as she turned on the communicator, a call came in. She propped her head up and looked down at it.
It's Levi.
Gu Li casually clicked "confirm," and what appeared before her eyes was a face she had only met once, yet which was still deeply etched in her memory.
She paused, then asked, "He Shiyi...you're out?"
The black-haired man on the other side of the screen nodded, his pure black pupils falling on her, quickly scanning her around, and then his lips moved slightly as he answered her question.
"My proxy is missing, so I have to step in and take his place."
As He Shiyi spoke, a small black mole at the corner of his lip twitched slightly. His expression was unusually calm, and his dark eyes were like a bucket of ice water in winter.
Just one glance is enough to send chills down your spine.
But under the dim yellow light, it inexplicably exudes a certain sexiness.
Gu Li subconsciously looked away and pursed her lips: "This time, all six teams except for Saide and Alfoseni have gone back, right?"
He Shiyi: "I just received it an hour ago."
Gu Li paused again, her tone becoming somewhat slow: "Saide and Al have run into some trouble. They've been my friends since school."
In a daze, she thought she saw He Shiyi chuckle softly.
His voice was low, as it always had been, whispering in my ear: "Don't you suddenly feel like you're not strong enough, that you haven't done enough..."
"You regret letting them follow you."
Gu Li blinked blankly, then suddenly felt a sense of clarity.
That's the principle.
She was afraid.
He Shiyi's current appearance is completely different from the walking powder keg that Levi once described. He spends a long time in the darkness slowly savoring the death of his companions and the homeland he can never return to.
Then, in a calm voice after calming down, she said to Gu Li, "Don't be afraid, I'm here for you."
We'll see each other soon.
